makes sense that anyone wanting to use a gun will find a way to get the gun. We have a constitutional right to have guns and that was in case our government got "out of hand"...hmmmmm. Our founding fathers were very astute on the reasons for that.....look what they were fleeing from!!

Just because a nut job gets a gun and decides to kill people isn't a reason to do away with firearms from civilized people. Countries overseas have done that and their crime rate went UP!! Why? Because they know the people have NO protection from anyone!

Except for law enforcement and military and all of the problems will go away .. right? That's very narrow-minded thinking. There is already a huge black market for guns in the United States and the business for it would boom if this were to happen and then you take guns away from innocent homeowners, business owners, etc., who abide by the law completely defenseless. Makes a lot of sense to me. The UK is a prime example of this.

As another poster stated, guns don't kill people, it is people who kill people.

1. Shootings occur in areas where people don't carry guns.

2. The responsible people who legally carry guns are not the ones who do the shooting. They go to safety classes, etc.

3. You will never be able to stop the criminals from acquiring guns. If they can't get them here they will get them in the bordering countries and illegally bring them here. And the criminals who commit these crimes...they don't get their weapons legally (or most of them don't).

4. If all responsible citizens were allowed to carry guns and had proper training there would be a lot less shootings because the citizens would know what to do in a situation like this.

a. What does the election have to do with this incident. You're trying to start trouble.
b. Not all conservatives have guns and ammunition - I don't, and all my conservative friends and family don't.
c. There are liberals in this country who own guns and ammunition.

I noticed that he/she said in the post that "all" conservatives went out and stock piled ammunition and bought all these gun "before the presidential election". Guns are on the same level as alcohol with respect to innocent people getting killed. It not the gun or alcohol that is at fault. It's the person in possession of it.

You're never going to stop access to guns if a criminal wants to get their hands on them. It's one of the sadder facts of life.
