No clue where to go next. Thought about going

back to school, but not sure what to study so I have not even filled out an application for admission. I cannot get a job in MT regardless. I have 17 years of experience and still no job offers. I had a phone interview Monday and, even though they claimed they wanted to hire me, I have not heard anything since so that is a no go. Where to go from here? I do not want a job at a convenience or grocery store or a bank or a dollar store. Those are my only options. I have to wait until my kids are 18 to move where there are better jobs. What until then?:((

Do you have any type of office experience? Maybe a secretarial job somewhere...anywhere, or any type of office work. Look at all the medical clinics in your area and see what clerical jobs they have available. Do you have any experience other than MT?

to touch base and show that you're still interested. Some of these companies and their HR personnel are incredibly slow (and flaky, in some cases) about getting back in a timely manner. My dad used to hire people on a regular basis and he always stressed that he was impressed with people who were persistent and called back after an interview. Wishing you the best of luck.

When I was slow re. work coming in, I did "English" transcription which is a little different but you have to have a "can do" attitude. Market yourself in some of the "free" newspapers or online (be careful) and there are many subjects you could work on, including legal, where they could use your transcribing abilities. Sometimes they pay even better. Don't give up and don't let the mean spirited attitudes get to you, think out of the box and good luck!!
