Israel has a right to defend herself against a terrorist organization, i.e., Hamas. Even Egypt agrees. Hamas doesn't care about the Palestinian people. When are you going to realize the truth?

Iran is rallying Muslims and hates Israel. They support Hamas. A non-Middle Eastern nation, North Korea, is also replenishing Hamas with weapons and communication equipment. There is an excellent site called Statfor if you want to read about this.

In this day and age of intelligence and technology I believe that the Israelis could make this a more target specific destruction of Hamas.

The population of Gaza is being held hostage by two: Hamas and Israel. Yes, in Gaza many are supportive or involved with Hamas. But the killing of this many children is unacceptable. I don't care which you think is responsible: Hamas or Israel. If Hamas is sacrificing the children, Israel should go in to save the children from Hamas.

I guess this boils down to the Israelis might expend a few more soldiers to go in and hand-to-hand or get the intelligence necessary to remove the "bad guys."

I understand there have been children with backpacks of explosives and terrorist groups hiding in mosques and schools (just daring anyone to bomb those safe havens). I just don't think that is what is going on here, this time.

These people are jammed into the area of Gaza like rats and Israel is throwing bombs in and watching them scatter, only to bomb the next hiding place. They have to find another way.

I'm getting that same frustrated feeling I had when I watched the people dying in the SuperDome in New Orleans. With all the technology available, we let those people die. What in the world is the matter with our society?

While writing, I looked at the MSN page and see that the truce has been broken. Claims that Israeli soldiers have been captured and/or killed--truce over--50 killed in Gaza. So right now they are running about 32:1; 32 Gazans (civilians? Hamas?) to 1 Israeli soldier killed. That is CIVILIAN to SOLDIER. Soldiers are going into battle, equipped and know what to expect, what do the children expect?

1. Israel CONTROLS the amount of electricity the Palestinians have, and they only "give" them 2-3 hours a day. (Now that Israel has blown up their power plant, though, I guess they will now be getting ZERO seconds a day.)

2. Israel controls the water they can fish in, and it's a very narrow strip, and that is very unfair.

Israel punishes the Palestinian on a daily basis and has for years. I don't blame the Palestinians for being FED UP!!
