take a peek at the offshore concerns board

Look at the post "my letter to president Obama" and the one below it by the same person talking about offshore work.  Very well written and worth the read.

Give Obama a nudge, go for it! - NJ

[ In Reply To ..]
There will be a lot of screaming when tax subsidies for companies that "offshore" are taken away, but I think we will survive. I suspect Obama is waiting for more of an economic recovery before he starts on this one. No doubt Corporate America will start a fear campaign against it, so be prepared. I'm all for reminding him (Obama) of his campaign promises.

In the meantime, us peons suffer. *sigh* I wish Obama had a magic wand but he doesn't. And I wish he could move faster without ripping things apart, but I'm not sure Corporate America and the radical right will allow that either.

I really wish health care had passed before the August vacations for congress. We could have moved on to stuff like this by now.

A Little (horrifying) Peek Into The Radical Past OfJan 18, 2016
Personally, I can't wait until Bernie turns America into Nicaragua.  We've already gotten experience with a tinhorn dictator now, and everyone south of the border is pouring into the country anyway, so it shouldn't be any big leap for Bernie to set up his banana republic. ...

Did You Know That There Are Now "New Concerns AboutAug 08, 2012
No?  Neither did I.  But apparently, according to Fox News, there are "new concerns" about this because there's not enough red, white, and blue in the athlete's clothing choices (Gabby Douglas in PURPLE, for goodness sake!) and not enough flag waving by the athletes....and have you noticed you're not hearing enough chants of "USA...USA...USA"!?  Good grief--I watched Aly Reisman(?) win the gold last night, and her outfit was practically a sparkly US flag! Really? & ...

Mother-in-law ConcernsMay 20, 2013
Long story long...sorry..... Mother-in-law is here visiting. Her second husband died about 2 years ago. She came to visit then, lives about 2000 miles from us. Went on and on about going back, selling her manufactured home, moving here to be with her only child, my husband, and her 12-year-old only grandchild, our daughter...After she got home she began searching the want ads for male friends.. Found 3 or 4, dated, some ok, some not.. through one of them found a man that has some money, 73 ...

Councilwoman Raises Concerns About ‘Blocs’ Of Asians Moving Into NYCHA Mar 26, 2015
Brooklyn Councilwoman Laurie Cumbo today said that a number of her constituents “don’t understand” the growing population of Asians moving into public housing units in her district. Ms. Cumbo told Shola Olatoye, Chairwoman and Chief Executive Officer of the New York City Housing Authority, at a hearing of the council’s public housing committee that residents in her district are perplexed that so many non-English speaking immigrants are moving into certain developments. The African-Ame ...

"Big Business Is Doing Fine" And Offshore Tax HavensAug 24, 2012
I just got back from having lab work drawn and caught the tail end of this story, so haven't got much detail yet.  I guess the RNC is scrambling to scour their collection of clip montages making reference to Obama's much derided similar private sector comments.  Of course, the president made no references to offshoring money in connection with private sector jobs growth.    According to the clueless wonder, BB gets all the loans they could ever want, does a bang-up ...

Not Too Sure If This Is The Right Board For ThisJul 20, 2011
I suffer from debilitating menstrual cramps, like I cannot even stand up straight.  I usually take Toradol, which helps me.  Yesterday, though, I couldn't get in to see my doctor for a refill and I was having horrible cramps.  I went to the ER and saw the ER physician who gave me a shot of narcotics and (obviously) that made my pain go away.  He also gave me a prescription for the same narcotic to use as needed (I only usually take 4 Toradol at most each month, ...

The following has been done. 1. Deleted all condescending remarks to other posters or making fun of them. 2. Deleted all bickering. 3. Edited/deleted any words altering a political parties name to something obscene. 4. Deleted comments that have nothing to do with the subject matter being discussed. 5. Deleted obscene pics of political people. In other words, if you insult other posters or if you are not talking about the subject being discussed your post was edited/deleted. Peo ...

Bye All. I'm Done With This Board. Jan 14, 2013
No debates, just argumentative people who ridicule others here. I found another political site that has sensible debates and don't ridicule those who have opinions differing from themselves.  Only a few I'll miss on here:  RC, Trigger Happy, and The Sarge and a couple others that really don't use a moniker that I can remember. LOL Good luck to those who decide to stay. ...

Wow - This Board Is Getting HitFeb 26, 2013
With condescending, snide remarks. Here goes:  Someone is upset that someone wrote a poster did not get something, figures.  But ya'll are okay with: "The positions you state have about as much intellectual integrity as jello" (to spell it out - you are stupid (i.e. no intellect)) Well, darn, that's a great story, but I can't ''like'' it because - I know you meant it as ridicule (The whole post ridiculing what the OP posted, yet not talking about ...

Not Sure This Is The Right BoardMar 12, 2013
Had a job interview on Friday.  Really liked the manager and would love to work there.  I was 1 of 7 people he interviewed  for his assistant.  Today, Tuesday, he is to go over his "notes" and make his decision.  I am in my late 50's and not expecting to get the job.  Too many "younger" people with better computer skills.  I hate the thought of having to go through the whole process of interviews, etc.  I have not looked for a job in over 15  yea ...

This BoardSep 29, 2016
I started looking at this board mostly to see different people's thoughts and perspectives about this year's Presidential election.  Instead, for the most part I found snarky - and even frequently way beyond the bounds of civility - comments and wild speculation, uninformed claims backed by absolutely no presentation of facts, focus on items of a ridiculously low level of importance to our survival as a country and a world leader, and apparently little respect for - primarily - De ...

Ad On Job Wanted Board.Feb 05, 2012
What if you saw an ad like this on Jobs Wanted: Old worn-out and partially deaf MT seeking unrewarding job with harsh work conditions. Prefer long hours and mush-mouth or Mickey mouse dictators. Also prefer demanding, irrational and unreasonable managers who fire employees at drop of a hat. I enjoy being kept in the dark and having complete silence when asking for assistance. I am also partially blind, so don't expect miracles. If the above qualifications meet your job requirement ...

It Would Be Nice If We Could Have A Board Nov 13, 2009
Lets try to get back to topics, instead of calling conservatives trolls and all the other derogatory comments.  Sure maybe your side thinks its funny.  Well actually they do becuase you pat each other on teh back about what a great insult that was, but what it boils down to is that it is quite immature.  Most of the posts are cutting others down.  The term "teabaggers" is also offense and those who post know this.  They are just trying to get a rise out of people.  ...

Some Thoughts About This Board, Etc. Mar 18, 2012
I respect everyone’s right to their opinions.    We have a 2-party system in this country, thankfully, although  at times I wish it were more, and if we all thought the same, or weren’t allowed to disagree, we would probably not be living in a democracy.    This is my issue.   When I hear, for example, some conspiracy theory on how Obama’s (or it could be anyone) agenda is to ruin the country, turn it into a socialist state  (wh ...

Cleaning Up The BoardApr 19, 2012
I have gone through messages, deleted a few.  If people are talking about the issues I do not want to delete those posts.  I will try to address what I read below: Calling posters bully's.  I read the messages they were referencing and there was no bullying.  A poster is voicing their difference of opinion.  That is not biullying.  People are calling people names and when the name is called back to them they are claiming bulllying, lying, etc. Having a differ ...
