I started looking at this board mostly to see different people's thoughts and perspectives about this year's Presidential election.  Instead, for the most part I found snarky - and even frequently way beyond the bounds of civility - comments and wild speculation, uninformed claims backed by absolutely no presentation of facts, focus on items of a ridiculously low level of importance to our survival as a country and a world leader, and apparently little respect for - primarily - Democrats' opinions. I find what appears to be a fairly reasonable post/answer by an apparent Clinton supporter followed by an insulting smarmy reply by an apparent Trump supporter. I just want you Trump supporters to know this board has cost your candidate this independent/undecided vote. I definitely don't want to be a part of your group.

;

I beg to differ with you about your observations - disagreer

[ In Reply To ..]
The Republicans always get snarky remarks. You need to read back further. You also need to read the same poster who constantly tries to convince us that Hillary is some kind of wonderful person.

Personally, I don't like liars and people that are never punished for crimes, actual ones.

I hate to see what our country will be like with her. I am not fond of Trump but when you compare what you are, I'd take him over her anytime.

Remember how she treated Mrs. Smith, as much as calling her a liar and that she had never said anything about a video. Other families said that too. So I think you need to see just how much the Republicans on this board are treated compared with your left viewpoint.

Honestly, open your eyes before it is too late. People voted for Obama as first black president and guess what the blacks got betrayed by him. What makes you think a first woman president, like Hillary would not do the same thing. She is on no one's side but hers. She lives in her own world and reality and could care less about any people, women or otherwise.

This board - Very disappointed

I guess you didn't notice the part where I said I used to be an INDEPENDENT/undecided. I also have no idea what information I gave in my post that makes you think I'm liberal. I repeat - wild accusations supported by no facts whatsoever...

What do think about Clinton's email scandal, or handling of - Benghazi? Iran nuke deal?

[ In Reply To ..]
Clinton Foundation pay for play? How about the email scandal that caused a death of an Iran scientist?

Try to answer any of those questions without bringing up Trump, who has never been an establishment politician. I'm not saying Trump is perfect, but he has never had the power that she has.

I'm going to assume these are genuine requests for an opinion so here goes:

Clinton's email scandal: I'm not at all supportive of how she dealt with her e-mail questions. I just wish she'd said, "Look, I was not in the office a lot and I needed to have some way to communicate remotely so I used email. I intended it to be only for nonclassified information (after all, only 87 of my 60,000+ [I think those are the numbers] were marked as confidential in some way). As I understand from my lawyers who reviewed them, some of the 87 were not marked confidential in the header. I got so many e-mails a day, I may have only read the subject and not the text of the e-mail and moved on. That being said, I recognize that I made a mistake even doing that and certainly wouldn't do it again." That's what makes sense to me because if I get more than about 20-25 emails in one day I'm overwhelmed. As best I remember, nobody has ever said what the subject matter of those e-mails was so we can judge for ourselves the seriousness of her mistake. I have not heard there was any actual compromise of national security, but I completely agree it was possible. There is also the issue of the State Department's - under both parties - being overly aggressive about classifying material secret or confidential or whatever level so, again, without reading the emails themselves, it's hard to know how to judge. I'm inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt with severe penalties if it happens again. If it were to happen again, I have no doubt Julian Assange will find the e-mails as he likes her not one bit.

I don't know much about the Iran nuke deal, but I have superficially observed goings on in Iran for 20+ years, and I am convinced that no matter what sanctions we imposed on Iran, they would never agree to all our terms. Pride and integrity are incredibly important character traits (although sometimes it's impossible to support how these character traits get translated into action). I think they would never have negotiated no matter what the cost if the US had tried to make them agree to only what we wanted. Unless we were prepared to invade them, we couldn't force an agreement on them. However, I'm sure they wanted things we could give, and that's probably what happened. As for me, I consider any agreement that dismantles their centrifuges and permits inspections is a miracle but requires constant skepticism and proof about whether they are complying.

I don't know anything about an e-mail causing the death of an Iranian scientist. Do you have a link or some other data about that? I do seem to remember there was an Iranian scientist who, I believe, originally defected to the US but changed his mind and insisted on returning to Iran against all advice because he missed his family. Is that the one you're talking about?

Benghazi was a mess - it's hard to disagree about that. The thing is I don't understand why it's Clinton's fault. The only thing I remember she did is make a premature statement about why the attack was happening - which she later corrected. As I further understand it, there had been a long-standing appropriation request before Congress for funds to increase security at embassies/consulates in dangerous places that Congress never approved. That request would not normally be the responsibility of the secretary herself, but perhaps the State Department unit involved should have told her about the issue so she could intervene and get some action before it was too late or even rearrange State Department funds to make the changes. There is no way a secretary of state can oversee everything or even close to everything because he/she is gone so much of the time. Congress clearly constantly embroiled itself in nonsense so much of the time it didn't take up important stuff, the failure of which cost people their lives. Now, even if Congress had passed the appropriation, it still might have been too late because I know from trying to deal with offices there it is a slow-moving, complicated behemoth of an organization, and whether they would have got the security changes in place before the attack is unknown. However, without the appropriation, they couldn't start.

I've seen other posts about the Clinton Foundation that I support. Until somebody gives me a list of the people she saw matched up with the contributions they made and the benefits they received for that, then I continue to write this criticism off as spurious and bogus claims against a foundation that has done world class work to improve the conditions of everyday people here in the US and around the world and by hypocritical people who offer zero criticism of the Trump Foundation.

You're right - if I understand your point - I can't bring up those questions and mention Trump in any of them. However, he has plenty of questions related to his own history which you don't mention. While he hasn't had any government power, I think he has had close to the same power she has had and, really, maybe even more because his power has been associated with his business interests, and he could pretty much use that power any way he wanted to, fairly or unfairly, good or bad result. A secretary of state or a senator - and certainly a first lady - has no totally independent power to do anything and must constantly be accountable for weighing consequences. My bias in that regard is that collaboration can be done to death and in the end, I just wish somebody would do something. However, I doubt Trump will be able to much of what he proposes without the cooperation of the people he has probably alienated. As I have repeatedly said, most of the unilateral power a president has is for doing bad, not good. Good takes cooperation, and many times even doing bad takes cooperation. So I don't reject the need for change or new ideas at all, but I'd like them supported by workable plans supported by verifiable data and no insults about the people one needs help from. My major reservation about Clinton is whether she is so disliked she will never be able to get anything accomplished although she has been able to get stuff done in the past. I have similar competence reservation about Gary Johnson and Jill Stein - a person who is conscious doesn't know where Aleppo is (although, much to his credit and my admiration, he forthrightly admitted his error and explained it) or a person who appears to be pretty much wedded to a small set of narrow issues don't inspire my confidence that they could be leaders of this country.

Those are about most of the points I have made on this board in the past. You can make these points 24/7 here, but the same old misinformation will just be re-posted. Thus, now I just do short clips to counteract the misinformation with some truth in the hope that it sticks once in awhile. Welcome to the club, and I hope you stick around and carry the banner for truth and sensibility.

The non-citizen Muslim mall shooter voted 3 times illegally. - Do you think voter ID is racist?

[ In Reply To ..]
Voter fraud is rampant and the democrats are completely supportive.
This board - Very disappointed
[ In Reply To ..]
I didn't see anything about that. Do you have a link?

Actually, I don't think voter ID is racist. I do think it impacts badly on poor people - whatever their race - disproportionately. They may be operating without bank accounts and without a driver's license because they can't afford a car. They may not have permanent addresses. In my state, absentee voting (I'm disabled) has caused major problems for me because it now requires two witnesses or a notary public to verify the ballot. I only know one person to ask right now and it's hard for me to get around. I ask, why should it be so difficult for me to simply vote? My ballot can always be challenged if someone thinks it's not valid.

Everything I've read has said voter fraud is extremely rare compared to the number of people who vote. I don't like the fact that people vote illegally - whether they are Muslim or a criminal or an upstanding citizen - but I think there are plenty of ways to catch most of it without penalizing honest people who just want to vote. I've voted almost every election for the last 50 years or so, and I have never heard so much worry about illegal voting. I'm considerably more concerned about people's failure to vote and find it amazing that we have people who are so interested in the outcome of an election that they are willing to go to the polls more than once. I did see people om this board stating they had voted more than once on the Google presidential debate poll, though, so I guess it's possible. I just don't think many people try to vote illegally, and they are caught or they have little impact on election outcome.

If you have some research information about voter fraud being rampant, I'd like to see it. I for one don't see it. At least in my hometown, the Board of Elections appears to be made up of people who have no stake in a fraud-dominated election and make every effort to make sure the voter rolls are accurate.

As I ask, if you wouldn't cheat, and your family members wouldn't cheat, and your neighbors wouldn't cheat, why do you think there are all these other people out there cheating?

You have specifically mentioned only one person.

If this board and its posts can sway you one way or another, you need to do some serious growing up. This board and its contents are opinions, and if you are influenced that easily one way or another by our opinions, I feel so sorry for you.
This board - Very disappointed
[ In Reply To ..]
That wasn't my point - I have already answered several times that this was the last straw in an attempt to find any reasonable, fact-based opinion to support Trump. This was at what is now the end of a very long observation of the candidates and exploration of their positions.

What I hear you saying is that the opinions posted here are not worth even considering in making one's decision. I totally agree after reading more of them than was healthy. I wasn't looking to be told what to do but was looking for ideas and positions that would be different from mine. What is mostly found was factually unsupported ravings.

That's why I said I'm done. I appeared to be the only person I've run into here that is willing to listen to other people's reasoned arguments - of which I have found very few. I'm amazed that some of these folks can hang in there and be blasted with personal insults day after day. Not me, though, I'm done today.

This board - Very disappointed

[ In Reply To ..]
I did just read back some of the more recent posts, and you're right that almost everybody is making unsupported, snarky remarks. However, I do stand by my observation, evidenced by the second answer I got, that far too many Trump supporters are over the top in their condemnation of anybody who doesn't agree with them and their lack of respect for opposing views.

Also, I am puzzled as to why you think if Trump lost my vote, Clinton got it.

They like Trump because they're just like him. - That ol birds-of-a-feather thang.

So, we have to believe a couple of REALLY weird things about you:

1. You can look at this whole board and, mysteriously, the only "snarky" content you see comes from just one side.

...but as laughable as that is, the next one's a gut-buster:

2. You decide who to cast your vote for in the nation's most important election by visiting the MT Stars politics forum and grading the content of posts with your little Snark-O-Meter (sold at all fine toy stores, batteries not included).

There you were, sitting on the fence, just an "independent" without a clue, totally confused.

"Omigosh omigosh omigosh whaddleIdo whaddleIdo whaddleIdo election day's coming and I don't have any idea who to vote for. WhaddleIdo whaddleIdo whaddleIdo. Mommyyyyyyyyyy!!"

Then somehow (no doubt by the grace of the Almighty), you found your way to the MT Stars politics board and bada-bing-bada-bam! You saw something that didn't quite suit your most exquisite sensibilities (you're such a delicate flower), and there was your answer, written in the sky like a bolt of lightning. By gar, after months of utter puzzlement, that made up your mind for you, yesiree Bob!

Listen, sister. I was born at night, but not LAST night.

I'm glad you came along, though. I'd just finished reading my 5-year-old the last of the Grimm's Fairy Tales last night and I was wondering what to read tonight. Your post will do very nicely, although it might be a bit below his age level.

"Once upon a time, in the land where the fearsome Hillagalopagus roamed free, belching top-secret emails and trampling the truth underfoot, there was a very, very strange woman who lived in a tomato soup can right at the edge of the dump. It was a bit snug, true, but once she had decorated the place with a few dead beetles and assorted bottle caps it suited her just fine as long as the wind didn't blow the wrong way.

"But still, she wasn't entirely happy. Election day was coming and she couldn't make up her mind who to vote for. Sometimes she thought one way, sometimes the other. The indecision was driving her crazy, if she wasn't already.

"'I know what I'll do,' she said to a passing mushroom. 'I'll go forth to the wizards who inhabit the dark canyons of the MT Stars Mountains. There among them, I shall learn much."

"The mushroom thought it was a pretty dumb idea, but politely said nothing.

"Not one to dally, the woman hastily packed only what was absolutely necessary for such a pilgrimage. When she had thrown a nightgown, tennis racket, half a corned beef sandwich, toothbrush (for she still had one tooth), her bassoon, and a 1972 London railway schedule into a suitcase she rushed out the door, returning only once because she had forgotten Henry the parakeet."

Yes, I think I can work that up into a passable fairy tale. Of course, with your post I'm more than halfway home..

I never believed it anyway.

You should be very disappointment in politiicians. This board is a reflection - of them. As for Democrats, have

[ In Reply To ..]
you heard the condescending remarks made by your candidate Hillary? Trump supporters are racist, bigots, stupid, despicable...

Obama called us bitter clingers to our Bibles and guns.

Perhaps you should take your grievances to your party. They are masters are grievance politics and division. Look how far this country has fallen since they have been in power.

This board - Very disappointed

[ In Reply To ..]
Well, first of all she apologized for making an overstatement, and she DID originally use a 50% figure so she clearly doesn't think all Trump supporters are racists, bigots, stupid despicable, etc.; AND I think you have to admit some Trump supporters are those things - there's plenty of evidence even on this board that's true.

I'm don't know what you mean by "my party" as I don't have one, but if you mean the Democrats I'm stumped as to why I would take my grievance about a social media board to them.

I think you have forgotten that Republicans have been the ones in power for the last six years, and I agree their failure to govern with any degree of competency is appalling and has created a lot of problems. A president has very little power to do very much positive without Congressional cooperation. Not only has Congress routinely opposed what President Obama proposes - which is, of course, their duty if their consciences require it - but has failed to propose anything useful as replacements.

I personally don't think the country has fallen in spite of all these problems. During the Obama years I am no longer threatened with homelessness, unemployment or dying. Sure, I still have some difficulties and I know other people are worse off, some far worse, but all in all and for me, I feel safe at last. I just wish other people did, too.

I suggest you look at the Snarker-in-Chief, who over the last 8 yrs - has filled us with snide condesesion, cheap shots

Nancy Pelosi is blaming Republicans for the train wreck in NJ, thus - trying to politicize a tragedy as usual.

The train was driven by a Democrat union guy.

Some trains were equipped with new devices and this one wasn’t. What’s her explanation why the trains that did have them had not been trained?

What’s her explanation for the conductor or is she going to claim he did it on purpose because he’s a Republican?

These trains are run by the state govts, not the private sector.

These people make me sick.

What you mean is, Republicans don't like paying for political graft, union corruption, waste and fraud, all of which have been absoltuely rampant under the oh-so innocent and even "necessary" heading of infrastructure.

It's like "education" or "healthcare" - we surely need such benificent blessings, don't we?

OR any social media for that matter.

This board - Very Disappointed

[ In Reply To ..]
I didn't say I was voting for Clinton. I simply said I wasn't voting for Trump, and I didn't base my decision only on this board. It was just the final straw in my attempt to find anything in the Trump campaign worth supporting and to point out that other voters may be participating in this board whom Trump supporters might win over if they tempered their language and presented facts to support their positions instead of making bald accusations supported by zero facts, most which have been conclusively proved wrong, and virulent personal attacks on people who disagree. This is the first social medium I have ever participated in, and if others are like it, it will be my last. I have better things to do than having to wade through this toxic garbage to find the few posts that are thought through and present actual information and points to think about.

You've either insulted our intelligence - or your own.

Your post was very good, straight to the point and very true. I used to come to this board to see what people had to say, got caught up in a couple of unproven subjects, but then realized how ridiculous it was to argue with some of the snarky trolls on here calling me juvenile and decided not to read these posts anymore because they cemented my thoughts about what was wrong with this country...too many snarky trolls out there that don't like the truth or maybe anything in their life, IDK. But I read your post and am very glad you posted it. I'm terribly sorry about the posts these trolls posted after yours trying to argue with you. At least I understood what you were saying. I think they get so blinded by their anger (trump trait) that they cant's see straight. Anyways, I hope you have a wonderful day and ignore the snarky posts. Thank you!! :)

As I posted earlier, if you had taken the time to read it, I gave no information that could lead anybody to believe that I am a liberal or going to vote for Clinton. It appears to be the regular conclusion from Trump supporters that anyone who doesn't support him is liberal and/or for Clinton - I guess this the standard way of discounting people who disagree with him so you don't actually have to listen. I've concluded through all of this process that I've gone through to make my decision that if Mr Trump does win, that will be revenge enough for all the other people who decided not to vote for him and a wake-up call to those who do support him as to how government really works and how limited the president's power is to do good and how vast the president's power is to do bad. (By the way, when Nixon was threatened with impeachment, I couldn't find anybody who would admit voting for him - hope that won't apply to you).

Wow, live by the snark, die by the snark. Are you sure - you're not a Trump supporter?

This board is just a reflection of today's politicians.

This board - Very disappointed

[ In Reply To ..]
I agree with you about today's politicians - particularly in Congress and state legislatures, but I think, even more significantly, it is a reflection of today's voters, who overwhelmingly have adopted the cult of the personality instead of a serious examination of the issues. All my life I have tried to listen carefully and thoughtfully to what other people have to say even if they don't agree with me and been willing to change my mind if someone could present data I hadn't considered. Not so here and maybe not so anywhere - most people just seem to be railing against things they can't much control right now, blaming the world for their woes, self-absorbed, completely uninterested in offering something workable to change things they don't like, hoping some Messiah will come along to do the work for them. I've only been participating for a couple of months, but I'm done. I see absolutely nothing useful in continuing and a lot destructive to how I want to live my life.

Don't look to govt to fix things. Unfortunately, they - have the power to tax.

[ In Reply To ..]
I hate to say it, but it's not going to get any better. We have gotten 180 degrees away from the Constitution and live under the rule of man, not the rule of law.

The America of our founding doesn't exist. There is no one running who reflects my idea of America.

What we are voting on. Basically free market versus communism, globalism. Do you think we are a republic or a socialist state? Do you want an establishment politician or someone who has never been in politics?

Don't listen to the so-called fact checkers. They are nothing more than journalists voicing their opinion.
This board - Very disappointed
[ In Reply To ..]
I can hear your sadness and frustration, but I think we do have to look to government to fix things. I can't repair a road or built a bridge, I can't much help somebody who just got laid off, I can't help anybody who is retiring and has no savings, I can't inspect food processing plants to be sure they won't produce food that will kill me, I can't find the cure to all the terrible diseases we have, I can't ensure drugs are safe, I can't regulate banking or punish banks for ripping us off, etc. Sure, there are some things I wish government didn't do, but on the whole, I think I'm getting a good deal.

I believe we still live under the Constitution, but that it's meaning has been expanding to make it work for modern times. I don't think it ever would have passed in the first place if the signers had had to all agree on what the language actually meant. I'm pretty sure there were different ideas about what each item meant but they just didn't discuss that much the closer to the signing they got.

I also don't think we're voting on and either/or basis. At least I'm not. The things you mention are the far ends of a continuum for each topic, and the United States has never gone down that road, and I don't think it will now - there are just too many players in the decisions that have to be made so a compromise is usually necessary. In the hope that you are asking questions that you want answers to and not just making rhetorical statements, I offer the following opinions. This country will never go communist even if someone wants it to - our entire economic history is one of robust capitalism, and you just can't turn that around. I don't know about free markets. I don't know enough about how they work yet. However, they seem to be coming no matter who is president. Globalism, I think, is inescapable and we need to deal with it to help the US prosper. Remember, if you're talking about Mr. Trump, he is global already so it's hard to see why he would oppose it or try to slow it down. I think we are closest to a republic - can't see us as a socialist state as government doesn't really take care of people cradle-to-grave like many of the European countries do. I don't care what kind of politician I get as long as he/she appears to have thought about and considered major issues that affect not only my well-being but others as well, he/she appears to be able to govern competently and wisely, that he/she will know how to deal with both our allies and our enemies. That means I would prefer someone who has had some governing experience because getting things done in government takes a collaborative, flexible approach - Lyndon Johnson and Ronald Reagan and even Richard Nixon before he went off the deep end are prime examples, I think, of this approach. "My way or the highway" won't work for a president because he/she doesn't have that kind of power; and, as we have seen with Congress for a long time, produces resentment and gridlock. That being said, there are plenty of politicians who haven't demonstrated these qualities on both sides of the aisles so, again, I understand your frustration. I think the only solution to that is to examine our hearts and ask what we really want to see government accomplish and try to vote for those people who will at least try to be our advocates.

sick, isn't it? to think we might actually know some of these people - disgusted2

Bye All. I'm Done With This Board. Jan 14, 2013
No debates, just argumentative people who ridicule others here. I found another political site that has sensible debates and don't ridicule those who have opinions differing from themselves.  Only a few I'll miss on here:  RC, Trigger Happy, and The Sarge and a couple others that really don't use a moniker that I can remember. LOL Good luck to those who decide to stay. ...

Wow - This Board Is Getting HitFeb 26, 2013
With condescending, snide remarks. Here goes:  Someone is upset that someone wrote a poster did not get something, figures.  But ya'll are okay with: "The positions you state have about as much intellectual integrity as jello" (to spell it out - you are stupid (i.e. no intellect)) Well, darn, that's a great story, but I can't ''like'' it because - I know you meant it as ridicule (The whole post ridiculing what the OP posted, yet not talking about ...

Not Sure This Is The Right BoardMar 12, 2013
Had a job interview on Friday.  Really liked the manager and would love to work there.  I was 1 of 7 people he interviewed  for his assistant.  Today, Tuesday, he is to go over his "notes" and make his decision.  I am in my late 50's and not expecting to get the job.  Too many "younger" people with better computer skills.  I hate the thought of having to go through the whole process of interviews, etc.  I have not looked for a job in over 15  yea ...

Ad On Job Wanted Board.Feb 05, 2012
What if you saw an ad like this on Jobs Wanted: Old worn-out and partially deaf MT seeking unrewarding job with harsh work conditions. Prefer long hours and mush-mouth or Mickey mouse dictators. Also prefer demanding, irrational and unreasonable managers who fire employees at drop of a hat. I enjoy being kept in the dark and having complete silence when asking for assistance. I am also partially blind, so don't expect miracles. If the above qualifications meet your job requirement ...

It Would Be Nice If We Could Have A Board Nov 13, 2009
Lets try to get back to topics, instead of calling conservatives trolls and all the other derogatory comments.  Sure maybe your side thinks its funny.  Well actually they do becuase you pat each other on teh back about what a great insult that was, but what it boils down to is that it is quite immature.  Most of the posts are cutting others down.  The term "teabaggers" is also offense and those who post know this.  They are just trying to get a rise out of people.  ...

In Reading Over This Board And Seeing That TheFeb 26, 2011
unions, combined with the recent relaxation of child labor laws, I guess working for a living will be a family affair.  Who knows?  Maybe it will bring families together.  They can all get ready for work together.  No more school since they will be closed and a thing of the past.  The kiddies can work alongside Mom and Dad.  The more kids, the better, since families will need all the money they can get while they're working and scratching their way over the pov ...

Some Thoughts About This Board, Etc. Mar 18, 2012
I respect everyone’s right to their opinions.    We have a 2-party system in this country, thankfully, although  at times I wish it were more, and if we all thought the same, or weren’t allowed to disagree, we would probably not be living in a democracy.    This is my issue.   When I hear, for example, some conspiracy theory on how Obama’s (or it could be anyone) agenda is to ruin the country, turn it into a socialist state  (wh ...

Cleaning Up The BoardApr 19, 2012
I have gone through messages, deleted a few.  If people are talking about the issues I do not want to delete those posts.  I will try to address what I read below: Calling posters bully's.  I read the messages they were referencing and there was no bullying.  A poster is voicing their difference of opinion.  That is not biullying.  People are calling people names and when the name is called back to them they are claiming bulllying, lying, etc. Having a differ ...

Cleaned Up The BoardMay 20, 2012
I have cleaned up the board to what I hope everyone will agree on.  I have deleted a ton of messages.  I have only gone back through 5/15.  I will work on earlier posts, but will have to be at a later date.  I tried to be fair to everyone and hope this is.  If someone really has a problem with a post they find most offensive feel free to post a link here and I will fix it. Thanks and have a great weekend. Moderator ...

Today's BoardSep 14, 2012
"To an observer, it looks like the sharks lose their mind biting at anything that's in their way in an uncontrollable rage. They thrash around, their snouts elevating and their backs arching, all signs that indicate an impending attack. Some accounts tell of sharks eating each other and of sharks continuing to feed even after they've been disemboweled by other sharks." ...

I Think We Need A Board, Just A Place To Feb 25, 2017
I'm having a really rough couple of days.  I have no control over what is happending and it is driving me nuts.  I need to vent.  I'm either going to stroke out or start a bleeding ulcer.  My partner and I have been together since 1999.  There is still 1 child/adult at home (not mine biologically).  The idiot got married because her boyfriend threatened to kill himself.  They've been married almost 2 years now and live with us.  He can' ...

Cleaning Up The BoardFeb 04, 2017
I am in the process of cleaning up the board.  I am trying to get the board back to it's intent -  To discuss issues regarding politics. All insults, ridicule, disrespectful, harrassing disparaging, villification, etc posts will be gone.  No side is free from blame.  Any posts calling politicians names will be gone.  Any posts calling posters names will be gone.  Any foul language will be gone.  Any taking the conversation off topic and trying to deny ano ...

Only Occasionally Come To This Board, OMGApr 14, 2016
Occasionally come here just to view different opinions on current topics.  It is amazing to read this board today and what is important (or entertaining) to people.  I understand that different people look at things differently, and I understand people have individual opinions.  What I don't understand is the actual topics of conversation that some seemingly intelligent people consider important to discuss/debate.  ...

Farther Down This BoardJan 20, 2017
someone called the Trump family beautiful and the Obamas plug-uglies.  I find this comment so despicable I wanted to post about it again.  The Obamas are a beautiful family with no, repeat NO personal scandals over the past 8 years. Compare this to Donald Trump who impregnated his second wife while he was married to his first wife and is now on his third and who has bragged about groping women while he was married to his third.  This is only one small defect in the totally flawed ...

The Right Wing On This BoardJan 19, 2017
does not seem to have noticed that the Republican budget resolution adds almost 10 trillion dollars to the national debt.  And that is taking into consideration the 14% tax cut for the superrich, increasing the military and assuming the economy grows the way Trump preaches it will although the majority of economists say it is highly unlikely. ...

Board Cleaned UpMar 11, 2015
I have just spent the morning cleaning up the board.  Results (just so you'll all know): 17 conservative posts removed. 8 liberal posts removed. 1 ban * please keep the fighting and name calling down. * please don't use profanity by putting an "f"- in front of the word because everyone knows what that means. * please don't insinuate others opinions are not important. * please do not tell other posters they are not allowed to post (move on, etc) * please do not talk ab ...

I Think The Snowflakes Need Their Own Board.Dec 10, 2016
They're certainly not posting anything of substance here. If all they want to do is criticize about nonsensical, inconsequential things, maybe they should commiserate in their own self-pity on their own board. Maybe they can come to some conclusions and come up with solutions to help themselves be positive and forward-thinking. I find it encouraging that a lot of liberals and #NeverTrumpers are pleasantly surprised and encouraged by what they see thus far. Did you all hear Paul Ryan on H ...

The Liberals On This BoardMay 23, 2017

Keeping Peace On This BoardFeb 17, 2012
Please stick to issues and do not make this board personal.  This is a place for people to discuss politics.  Do not harrass other posters for posting their opinions regardless of whether or not you agree.  If you quote a poster, please make sure you are quoting the correct poster.  Do not state quotes that posters said if they did not say it.  Do not stalk other posters and harrass them.  This is not a place for that behavior.
