Wouldn't it be interesting

if one or both presidential candidates stated that if elected, they would not receive their presidential salary as the economy was still not up to snuff?  I doubt either one would do that but neither one needs that money.  The Romneys and the Obamas are both well off.

but I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for that announcement from either candidate.

I saw this question asked of.... - ...the Romneys. (s/m)

I can't remember now which interviewer. They were walking and talking to the interviewer. Gosh, I can't even remember now if it was a "he" or "she"!!! (That's what this election is doing to my brain--LOL.) Anyway, he/she said to Mitt: "Governor, you didn't take a salary for your work on the Olympics, and you didn't take a salary for your term as governor of Massachusetts...." and Ann jumped in and said, "I know where you're going with this!!!" It was a funny moment, and I'm favorably impressed that Romney turned down those salaries; but in this interview, on that implied question, he wouldn't say that he would not accept the presidential salary. It WOULD be interesting to know, eh?

I think the Clintons are the only First Family in recent memory who actually NEEDED the income....LOL. I do think the First Family has to pay for their food, clothing, and household expenses, if I'm not mistaken. No amount of money is enough to compensate for the job, IMO; but I'd like to see all politicians' lifelong retirement plans done away with. Serve for a while (with fair pay), and then get back to the normal life and income (with the attendant retirement plan) that you would've had before. Presidents might have to be an exception since they would have a hard time going back to other occupations....but Senators and Congress members are waaaay overpaid and overcompensated in the way of lifelong benefits. There would be an enormous benefit to their image with the American people if they would vote for some changes to all that.

Congress and VP, too! - (no message)

Health and Human Services Dept is "considering" extending coverage for those who lost their insurance thanks to Obamacare for 3 years.  That ought to allow Hillary to slither right into the WH in 2016.  Considering, yeah, right.   This is the first bit of transparency we've seen coming out of this administration.  ...

Why I Wouldn't Be Entirely Depressed If Mr. Romney Did Win.Aug 27, 2012
(And we're mostly women here, after all). This was Sunday on Fox News. Mr. Romney: “With regards to women’s health care, look, I’m the guy that was able to get health care for all the women and men in my state,” Mitt Romney said in an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” before making sure to attack Obama’s law. “There’s talking about it at the federal level, we actually did something. MTs And Others Wouldn't Feel So Inferior IfApr 04, 2015
Mr. O had not helped demean all of us no matter what job we all have. The other Democrats also seem to look down their noses at anyone and of course it has to be our fault we are not getting enough. Just who was the one who signed Obamacare and companies started going to part-time or less than 30 hours a week so they wouldn't have to give anyone insurance. These elitists have made all of us feel inferior by their attitudes toward us. It seems they have the mindset that they are the only ...

Could this be true?  Working to fix the ACA would be the best thing.  Of course the republicans would only do it to save their butts come election time but many of us have always said the ACA is good, it just needs some fixing.   I was reading in another article that some republican states again refused the Medicaid expansion.  So sorry for those of you who live in those states.  That is what is hurting you so bad. ...
