Wouldn't GOP govs who opt out of Medicaid be

on those who qualify for it under ACA while denying them access to coverage, forcing them all to fill up state and county subsidized medical facilities (thus creating a permanent uninsured underclass)....all in the name of telling the president to "shove it"?  Could they think of a faster way to plunge the state deeper in debt?  How does that jive with GOP tax and debt reduction policies and party mandates to decimate all social safety net programs?

Inartful denial is not an answer. - Playing dodgeball with reality

doesn't make it go away. What it does do is assert a rather pronounced unwillingness to face fact, a prevailing idiosyncrasy shared by many GOPs right wingers. However, Judge Roberts demonstrated yesterday that this trait is not hopelessly inbred across all party members. Perhaps someone else would view this observation as an intellectual challenge and have the courage to more directly address the issue.

How does a mean-spirited refusal to accept ACA Medicaid funding as a childish nose-thumbing gesture to the president, denying qualified low-income patients access to health care coverage, perpetuating their uninsured status, consequentially and with malice of forethought deliberately raising their taxes, needlessly thrusting them back into state- and county-funded health care systems, and plunging those budgets ever deeper into exponentially expansive debt square with core conservative values? Democrats find this baffling behavior inexplicable. Only a keen conservative mind can offer the needed insight into this conundrum. Anyone?

Not denial, just Hope - for Change. (nm)

Any hope you may have for change is going to be completely contingent on being willing to address the hard questions and to respond with thoughtful, intelligent and convincingly comprehensive answers...all of them. The 2012 campaign has barely advanced past the starting line and we are still months away from those daunting presidential debates where Romney is inevitably going to face these types of questions along with many similar challenges. He cannot hide the fact that he was the governor who enacted mandated health care in his state, that the ACA was modeled after his plan, and that red state governors who are laying the groundwork for intense scrutiny on this ideological dilemma.

So far, I see no evidence he is up to that task. If the GOP is serious about winning in November, they are going to have to stop running scared away from their own perplexing contradictions toward the warm comfort of the mother party's bosom.
Huge diference between an individual state - making decisions

for its own resident, based on its' individual needse. BTW, here's some fact for you - Romney actual VETOED parts of this insuranc and was over-ridden by the DEMS in office - so get your facts straight. Here, Obama making a decision for the entire country based on his coummunist believes; not the same at all. ALL polls state that approximately 60%, and in some cases as high as 70% of American public what this repealed. Add your name to the list of the cluless in the land of the 25 to 30% clueless.
Romney never shied away from claiming credit for - his one-term crown jewel,

and never missed an opportunity to brag about how well it was received by voters or how effective it's been. Shall I retrieve a bunch of videos and post the links, or can we agree on this one inescapable fact?

As far as individual needs are concerned, why not ask individals, "Do you or do you not need affordable HC insurance and access to medical care? Yes or no?" A pertinent follow-up question might be, "How satisfied were you status quo before ACA passed?" It's doubtful those with pre-existing conditions or the millions who could never afford HC insurance before ACA passage could care less whether it's a state or federal initiative, but one thing is for sure. They will be watching these disgruntled GOP govs who are prepared to deny access and coverage they qualify for under federal law LIKE A HAWK.

I'm still hopeful con posters will return to the task of explaining how red state govs plans to block access to Medicaid, thereby creating financial and ideological havoc, can justify their decision and line its consequences up with core party values. I think I'll go draw a bath and give them time to ponder the problem.

under water and facing bankruptcy due to INCOMPETENT, SPEND-CRAZY DEMS that never saw a tax they didn't like or an entitlement they didn't use to try and buy votes. This isn't "free" money from the Feds buttercup. If you actually read and pay attention, this puts states in an unsustainable financial position, but heh, those hanging on by thier claws to the socialist ideas, never exercise their brain to think past their nose. SOONER OR LATER THE MONEY RUNS OUT, DEAR. What do you think is going to happen to "health care" then? Try actually reading about Canada, and I don't mean the govt. sponsored stats on the health care...the actual problems they currently face. Your assessment is wrong on so many levels, it is laughable.

potentially productive political dialog, that is if you are willing to say which state you are referring to. I'd be delighted to use it as a springboard for debate and discussion of the particulars of your oblique, unsourced and highly suspect charges against dems. If not, the post will have to stand as it is, just another expression of outrage and frustration at the very idea dems scored a couple of SIGNIFICANT SCOTUS rulings this week, upholding federal powers and preserving historical health care law.

Where Is The Tea Party? Medicaid In JeopardyApr 29, 2011
Two years ago during the healthcare  debate, the Tea Party was passionate in their insistence that government should keep their hands off Medicaid (never mind the fact that Medicaid is government run, socialized healthcare).  Now that the Ryan plan has proposed phasing out Medicaid as we now know it for those who are 54 years old and younger, where is the Tea Party? I would think they would feel betrayed by the Republicans who ran in 2010 and promised to "protect" Medicaid. ...

Montana’s Republican-controlled House voted Thursday, 54-46, to approve federal subsidies for Medicaid expansion. The bill would expand Medicaid coverage to between 27,000 and 46,000 low-income Montanans who earn less than 138 percent of the federal poverty level. All 41 H ...
