Why is leaving the Paris Climate Deal a good decision?
Posted: Jun 2, 2017
I do not understand why some folks think it is a good idea. If you think it is good, could you please say why? Thank you.

Here are reasons why from another poster's link - Makes perfect sense to me

Trump's Paris accord exit will save the environmental movement from itself
President Trump's decision to pull out of the Paris climate deal is good for the environment.
The truth is the Paris accord is all words, and little action.
To save our ecology and our freedoms, we need fewer treaties and less government.
Here is something taken from a post below. - Makes perfect sense!

One has to look at both sides in order to make a decision. I have done research and made up my mind. I could not express my opinion with such clarity, but the poster noted below can and did.

Germany pays 29.5 cents per KWH now. Some areas of the U.S. already pay 11 cents per KWH.
Having to pay at least $3 billion a year to the U.N. is not a good deal, especially if they don't help the other countries. Why should we pay the most for the least? There were 200(?) countries signed on to this agreement. The U.S. cleaned up our country. LA doesn't look like China anymore and hasn't for quite a few years. We did it without help. Other countries, if they have any regard for life, should be able to do it on their own, especially rich countries like China, Germany, etc.
We are not our brother's keeper anymore. It's time for the rest of the world to take responsibility for themselves.
You know Donald Trump is an - environmentalist at heart

I’m a very big person when it comes to the environment. I have received awards on the environment.” — President Trump, remarks during a meeting with business leaders, Jan. 23. Actually, he has never won an environmental award of any kind, this is just his typical lying, self-aggrandizing, posturing baloney.

would have the answers you seek. Pres Trump WAS VERY, VERY CLEAR how this harmed Americans...BTW - that includes all the low information Liberals. If they want to pay higher utilities bills, support third world countries that carry no accountability, and eliminated jobs...they can start with elimination of their job and I will gladly have them pay my utility bills.
Otherwise, Libs need to shut up, sit down, AND LISTEN FOR A CHANGE.

Let me share what I have read today, if I may.
“One-sixth of the U.S. population—53 million people—live in the coastal counties of the Northeast. A sea-level rise of 13–20 inches by 2100 would threaten insured property in these counties valued at $4.7 trillion—accounting for half of the value of all insured coastal property in the United States.
Experts expect higher ocean temperatures to strengthen hurricanes, which can strike almost anywhere in the Southeast and Gulf Coast region, taking lives and causing enormous damage.
In California alone, protecting low-lying coastal property from sea level rise and the resulting storm surges, particularly around San Francisco Bay, could cost $6 billion–$30 billion annually by 2100 under a high-emissions scenario.
If emissions continue to grow unabated, extreme heat waves that now occur once every 20 years are projected to occur about every other year in much of the country by the end of this century. And these very hot days will likely be about 10°F hotter than they are today.
Given the same level of air pollution as today, analysts project a 68 percent increase in the number of Red Ozone Alert Days—when the air is unhealthy for everyone—in the 50 largest eastern U.S. cities by the middle of this century.
Climate change will make storms, floods, and droughts more likely and more intense, and the timing of precipitation could be seriously altered around the country. For example, precipitation and runoff are likely to increase in the Northeast and Midwest in winter and spring, and decrease in the West, especially the Southwest, in spring and summer.
With its major river systems and relatively high precipitation, the Midwest is prone to flooding, with heavy rainstorms and rapid snow melt, in particular, causing widespread damage.
Water shortages, already a critical issue in the Southwest, are likely to become far worse with climate change. Such shortages will make agricultural production more expensive, force cutbacks in the amount of land under cultivation, and increase the cost of living in the urban Southwest.
If global warming emissions continue unabated, every region in the country will confront large costs from climate change in the form of damages to infrastructure, diminished public heath, and threats to vital industries employing millions of Americans. No region can expect a costless adaptation to a rapidly changing climate. Indeed, climate change threatens our very way of life and our legacy to future generations.” – Climate Change in the United States, Union of Concerned Scientists
Have you ever been in a hurricane, tornado or a flood? I have. Best make sure you have insurance or the utility bill will not be the only thing that is hard to afford. And our insurance went up quite a bit after the tornado. The air quality and water, well, I have no answer for that one.

The "science" is debated by scientists - and you know nothing about majority beliefs.

making much better money. My degree and my engineering coursework background have gone to good use. Bet I am the only one on the board who has actually taken environmental engineering courses and given lectures on water quality and climate change. That's okay, I understand thinking MTs are less than others, they obviously feel that way about themselves.
It's not a good idea and Trump doesn't know - what he is talking about

We are not bound to anything by this agreement. It is just a group of close to 200 countries who want to do their part for the environment. It is just an agreement that our planet matters and we will work together to make it a better place. Countries can change their input if they want but most want to go forward in the name of our environment.
Trump on the other hand doesn't understand anything about the agreement, as displayed by his ignorant speech. His supporters, however, hung on his every word and that is all that matters to him.
Many of his supporters are disappointed by his actions because they also care about the planet.
There will not be job losses but job switching. We would use less coal and more natural gas, solar and wind.
I am glad to see states and businesses that are still going to work towards going green. All he is doing is turning the world against us and he knows the right words to say to his supporters while he does this.
