Why is Obama giving 1.5 billion to the Brotherhood?

This week, the Obama administration quietly released $1.5 billion in foreign aid to the new Egyptian government, now dominated by a Brotherhood-led coalition in parliament — soon to be joined by an Ikhwan (i.e., Brotherhood) luminary as president.

Obama's War on Women - Supporting Muslim Brotherhood

These are just a few. Obama screamed like a little girl, outraged over someone having to pay $ 8.00 for birth control and it was a war on women by the repubs, yet overlooks the inhumanity of Sharia Law on women. Believe Obama is a Muslim. Believe Obama wants a califate. Believe Obama is a liar.

Oh, BTW, it is the EGYPTIANS who support Islamic parties in Egypt. The US president does not vote in their elections. Since his job desription includes procurement of Israel's national security, I feel quite certain if he had had his druthers, Obama would have preferred to see secular parties in power. Those are mightly hard to come by in post-revolution Egypt. That tends to happen in countries where western puppets fall after decades of repressing Islamic political parties and their leaders....kinda sorta like it did in Iran. Yep. this is not your grandfather's democracy, to be sure.

[ In Reply To ..]It's the price of doing business as Israel's benefactor. This aid has been going to Egypt (with even more going to Israel) ever since the US-brokered 1979 Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty. No president since that time has ever questioned the terms of the treaty.
I thought you might find this Bloomberg article interesting, which is entitled, "Use Free Markets to Win Over Egypt's Muslim Brothers." Does this mean that Bloomberg's entire staff are Moslems, too?
The MB won 48% of the seats in Egypt's parliament in a democratic election and will be fielding a candidate in the presidential elections to be held in July. This is not surprising since 90% of Egypt's population is Moslem. Do you realize that another 28% of those seats were won by Al-Nour/Islamist Bloc parties, who are WAY more ultra-conservative than the MBs Freedom and Justice party? Ahmed Ezz El-Arab is the leader of Egypt's top secular party. He denies the Holocaust and thinks Anne Frank is a fake. In other words, the MB is more moderate than the most of the Egyptian parties. At least THEY have stated their intent to honor the 1979 peace treaty with Israel.
Democracy in Egypt means the US is no longer calling the shots. Regardless of who is president, Israel's sugar daddy is going to have its hands full trying to maintain status quo across those borders. The ultimate success or failure of that endeavor is going to be a direct function of some mightly tricky diplomacy against a backdrop of vastly uncharted waters.

FYI, my husband respects my right to absolute control over my own life. He never questions me about where I am going, what I am doing, who I am seeing, or how much money I am spending. He frequently seeks my advice about how to better run his business, trusts me with the books and PR, and has formally designated me as his partner in that respect. He cooks, does his own laundry and equally shares with the housework. He takes me shopping for new clothes 2-3 times a year and takes pride in seeing me dressed in the latest, most up-to-date western fashions, treats me to a spa day 4 times a year and pays for complete salon makeovers for my birthdays. I can assure you, no burkas are involved.

One of the things I love the most about him is how well he blends in with all types of Americans, regardless of their religious or political beliefs or their socioeconomic class origins. He has the cutest Texas twang you could ever imagine. I am as happy with him today as I was the day we got married, and have everything I could possibly want or need in a spouse. I am accepted and loved by my in-laws whom I adore.
