Government now needs 2 BILLION more to roll out Obamacare.

I can't believe people were duped into this "health care" scam. It's not about health care, how many times do we have to say it. It's about CONTROL.

I imagine there were a lot - of folks in the '30s

who thought Social Security was about control, and some in the '60s who thought Medicare was about control as well. If you think you are being controlled by SS, then by all means, forward me your SS check and stay away from doctors when you turn 65.

that problems in our health care system will simply "work themselves out" without anyone even making an effort to address it, no matter how poor the effort. Even though they may not love them 100%, I doubt many in developed countries who offer health care to their citizens consider them to be "scams."

regarding health care reform except status quo, protecting health care industry corporate interests and privatizing Medicare? If they had their way, it would be thrown into the market place with as few regulations as possible, treated just like any commodity and left there to sink or swim. Who does or does not have access to the "product" would be of no issue as long as there were plenty of big money being circulated in the consumption and stock-holding arenas.
You know what, Libby and other poster? You're right - (sm) - Wise one.

the Republicans have done nothing in the way of a "healthcare" plan - until now. But it would be better to do nothing than pass this monstrosity of a *** bill (in the dark of night and by bribery I might add) that will do nothing for healthcare and help destroy the United States. But that was his plan after all, wasn't it. The Republicans did have some good ideas, but this *** wouldn't listen to a word of it.

The Affordable Care Act has already helped me. Got a check to help me with medication costs when I hit my donut hole. And my government-run health care plan is wonderful. Too bad some people fear and hate "the government" - seems to me like they're cutting off their noses to spite their faces.

If however, you are talking about Medicare, did you know that in 2014, doctors payments were going to be cut 40%? Don't think it will be so great then, but glad you like it now.

the immensely popular government-administered Medicare and Medicaid programs have been around since 1965. Kindly cough up your sources on that bogus 40% claim. If you encounter difficulty, try Googling HR 574 or reading about the history of "doc fix," particularly the prevailing lack of Congressional will to find a more permanent solution beyond the current yearly Medicare dramas we witness in 11th hour sessions before they take off for their protracted holiday break. They prefer to keep Medicare providers and patients on pins and needles year after year wondering whether the Ebenezer collective will come up with the prize turkey in time or not.
