2.1 billion.....

Posted: Sep 25, 2014

That's what has been spent so far on getting Obamacare up and running, including the website, fixes to the website (which still isn't fixed), IRS crosschecking, etc.  That's alot of money - $2,100,000,000.00.  With 8,000,000 signed up, what does that come out to per person? Somebody do the math.....I can't find a calculator big enough - but if I drop the 6 zeros and do 2100 divided by 8 - that comes to 262 - add the 6 zeroes back in - $262,000,000 - is that right - per person?  $262 million?  That can't be right....somebody help me out that actually knows math since I obviously don't.....LOL.

Some hospital costs fall in Affordable Care Act's first year, report finds

(CNN) -- Days ahead of the one-year anniversary of the rollout of HealthCare.gov, the Affordable Care Act's health care exchange website that was originally plagued with numerous technical glitches, the Department of Health and Human Services has released a report highlighting the impact of the law on hospital costs.

HHS, which oversees the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, said the report projects hospitals will save $5.7 billion in uncompensated care costs in 2014. Uncompensated care costs are those incurred by the hospitals that won't be reimbursed. The report says $4.2 billion of the savings come from the 27 states -- plus Washington, D.C. -- that implemented a Medicaid expansion as part of the health care act, with the additional $1.5 billion in savings spread across the states that opted out of the expansion.

The hospitals will receive money from the government (Medicaid expansion) to cover the bills of those who have Obamacare Medicaid - that money comes from the people in the form of taxes. Money from our hands to the government to the hospitals - where is the saving?

Nope, prevention/early care cheaper in long run - sm

Not to mention the decrease in stress to families and individuals who can now go to a doctor without having to make a choice between food, shelter, or last chance emergency room care.

262.50 per person - the zeroes cancel

I knew the math had to be incorrect.

That's petty cash compared to what we spend - on useless wars.

Budget Deficit Shrinks By $200 BillionOct 13, 2012
It starts with the figures released in 2009, when the deficit reached a record high of $1.4 trillion. Why is the column in red? Because, thanks to fiscal years, Obama inherited a deficit of nearly $1.3 trillion from Bush/Cheney the moment he took the oath of office. This year, however, according to the official data published by the Treasury Department, the deficit is 1.089 trillion.   A big number, but going down--no thanks to those helpful Republicans in Congress. ...

Mortgage-finance giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac could need nearly $100 billion in bailout money in the event of a new economic crisis, according to stress test results released Monday by their regulator.
