Allen West, sore loser in the recent interim election, no longer represents anyone outside Fox's lower forty where right-wing castaways such as Sarah Palin, Mick Huckabee, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum are put out to pasture. He did rack up an impressive record of false claims during his brief 2-year stint as an allegedly politically relevant "rep". He did succeed in carving out a high-profile reputation for his deep-seated bigotry and Islamophobia. Let's pretend for a moment that what he had to say 3 years ago about counterterrorism policies still matters.

Right-wing media outlets alongside various white supremacist rags have been working night and day since the Paris attacks resurrecting, reigniting and fanning the flames of ethnic and religious intolerance. This cause is centered on the imperative to either blur or eliminate any lines of distinction between the political objectives of Islamic fundamental terrorists and the religious teachings of Islam, the world's second largest religion, practiced by some 1.8 billion people. That's BILLION with a B. They fail to recognize the futility of this fool's errand, driven by their own religious fervor to ignite their own culture wars, and are indifferent to any violence their efforts may produce. Another well-worn tool they use is flagrant deception of the sort we so often see in the Clarion.

Robert Mueller was in charge of FBI counterterrorism policy in 2012. He and his predecessor, James Comey, probably agree that nurturing rampant Islamophobia is counterproductive to counterterrorism and recognize the benefits of minimizing or eliminating it at every turn. The reality is Muslim groups and leadership have significant contributions to make to this end, as they do to the overall success in the war on terror. That is a no brainer.

BTW, ISNA and MPAC are not MB front organizations or blackmailers. Mueller sought their input and considered their suggestions. "Pulling" documents and presentations for review AFTER the meeting is not equivalent to handing them over to terrorists with veto power, is it? Are West and his disciples able advance their stance beyond innuendo to produce a single shred of evidence that any changes based on ISNA and MPAC input were made? Of course not, so any ensuing arguments based on that falsehood are patently invalid.
