If you want to label as props all the parents who sent happy, loving children off to school in Newtown, only to receive calls informing them that those children had been slaughtered, if you and others derive some pleasure from calling them props, whatever. The majority of people will appreciate them for having the courage to put their grief out for all to see, understand their need to do it, and continue to grieve right along with them.

The poster below who stated she does psych reports is not taking into account those that must see a VA psychiatrist and the psychiatrist is only allowed to ask certain loaded questions in which no matter how the vet answers, he's guaranteed to lose his right to own a gun.
Up until that radio address, I thought the Toomey-Manchin amendment was a good start until I saw it did nothing to stop criminals from obtaining weapons.
Then later yesterday, I saw that Diane F.'s "amendment" was the same exact thing as the bill she tried to get passed banning the 157 guns and magazines but failed. Thank heavens that amendment also failed.
So, I'm so glad there are some in the Congress who are still trying to protect our rights.

[ In Reply To ..]So, these are brainless folks who only seek to do the bidding of politicians. On the contrary, these people have EVERY RIGHT to lobby the politicians for their cause. Just because Pres. Obama supports them doesn't mean they didn't make the decisions themselves. Contrary to what politicians and far right wingers would have us believe, one doesn't have to belong to a large, money-throwing corporation to be able to lobby their government. Every citizen in this country has that right. Every. Single. One. Just because Obama stood behind them and supported them is no reason to call them props. I'm not for complete gun control (and yes, I'm middle of the road independent, meaning common sense, not far right OR left idealism and one-mindedness). What his motivations were for SUPPORTING them is not my call, nor yours. Have you sat down and spoken with him? You can opine all you want, but that doesn't make it fact.
So, bottom line, these people had every right to lobby as they saw fit, and I don't believe they were sheep being led to do something they didn't believe in.
