Watching Obama at Dover Air Base. How come

this is being televised when Obama stated a while back that the remains of our heros should be private. Does he show up at every soldier that comes home in a casket? No.

I understand that this is somewhat different, but I think it should also be private, not for everyone to see.

I understand the families asked specifically not to be shown. At least that was honored. My heart cries. Noted that in this day of taking God out of everything, songs were Nearer my God to Thee and America the Beautiful. Don't know how anyone else felt, but I don't think the music ever sounded more beautfiul to me. God bless these families, and God bless these United States of America.

The President better make time for the return of the body of an American Ambassador killed in the line of duty. He was, and he should have been. That's not political, it's just a presidential duty.

I just find it odd that he complained (for lack of a better word) about news crews being there when our fallen soldiers come home, but allowed this today.

It's fine if he wants to be there but let there be privacy for the families of the Ambassador and the others, same as for soldier's families. Don't have the news crews there. That's all I'm saying.

It was recently posted on this board, that Obama will not even send a personal note to those lost in the line of duty, regardless of the reason. Obama sends a form letter, rubber stamped. Obama does, however, send a personal, hand-wrtiten note to the rock stars and Hollywood types that he invites to the White House. How can anyone justify that callous disregard for the military? Inexcusable.

and honored those who requested the media not be there. I suspect he did the same in this circumstance and did not receive any objections from family and/or State Department attendees. It would not surprise me if their families would actually want the national recognition for their loved ones, and to share the moment with the Americans whom they served.
