Trump knows how to push the buttons of the ultra right wing yahoos who are following him, and that is definitely one of those buttons.

But, come on, the entire Republican party wants to make abortion illegal and have done everything they can to make it virtually impossible to get an abortion in a red state.

What do you think the transvaginal ultrasound was about? The requirement for the potential abortion patient to be forced to look at an ultrasound of her fetus and wait 24 hours? These are designed to shame women pre-abortion and should be illegal.

So many other woman-shaming stances as well with obstacles to contraception, making miscarriages a criminal offense, the many degrees of "rape" they seem to believe in, including one which allows the rapist to be able to participate in bringing that child up, etc.

Sometimes I just love how Trump takes the tenets of the Republican base and throws them out as red meat and sits back and watches as the establishment Republicans have hissy fits because he has outed them.

While they want to outright condemn him, of course they do NOT want to alienate their base who are people Bill O'Reilly has been telling to kill abortionists all these years. You can't have it both ways.

It's like the emperor's new clothes, he did it with 911 and Bush (well, 911 WAS on Bush's watch, after all) and now he's doing it with abortion.

Abortion should remain legal. However, for women who have repeated abortions, especially as a means of birth control, who are NOT victims of rape, have their health or the baby's endangered by continued pregnancy, has had an accidental birth or cannot afford the baby, and whose baby is at risk for birth defects, should be sterilized. I mean, obviously those women do not want children, so offer a permanent solution.

Or else they could just stop putting obstacles - to free contraception

Honestly, I can guarantee you that no woman WANTS to use abortion as birth control and that in countries where access to contraception and education is free and easily available (without SHAME and PENALTY) there are far fewer abortions.

But it seems some would rather judge someone to the extent of sterilization. Really. I can't agree with that.
