At the RNC, also available on DVD and there's talk of a TV deal.

I have little interest in an O-bash fest. - The RNC plans to devote

an entire day building a gigantic lie at the "We Built That" event. I see no reason why that film would be any different. Frankly, I don't have the stomach for it. All that negative energy makes my glucose and blood pressure readings go through the roof. Think I take a pass and wait for the media recaps.

I thought conventions were for promoting platforms and laying out party policies. Silly me. The way Slush was cackling and carrying on today about how much the wingers are gonna go wild when they see how much hate's being served up, I have my doubts anything substantive is going to emerge.

dare I say...black...or is that racist? lol There has been very little of anything but negativity out of the Obama campaign and I have yet to really hear any plan that is feasible out of his mouth either. If he isn't spreading hate, he is severely stretching the truth...which is the nicest way I can say he is a liar!!!

Amazing to me that you refuse to watch a documentary on real people who aren't happy with Obama after they voted for him, but you can't see the blatant lies, the hate, the negativity and the lack of any real solutions that have come from the democratic party.
Thank you for stating the obvious. I have heard nothing (sm) - Aunt Sue
[ In Reply To ..]
positive out of the Obama campaign either, as far as any plan for 4 more years goes. All I have heard is more of the same lies, about how it's "working." and more negativity about his "enemies", the conservatives. No, it is not working. People will not watch. They must be afraid the "image" they have of him in their minds, with the halo atop, of course, will be tarnished. Sad situation.
Racism jokes are about as funny as rape jokes. - I suppose
[ In Reply To ..]
Romney foot soldiers and their tacky jokemeister, Lush Lamebaugh, find both types hilarious. Those on the butt end....not so much. This kind of dialog is clueless, boorish and hateful, as witnessed just yesterday when Mitt made his impotent effort to walk his brand of birther humor back, reminiscent of how McCain handled his gorilla rape joke gaffe.

I intend to stay on thread topic, that being the RNC's documentary film and my expressed reasons for tuning out, both the viewing of the film and your extraneous diversionary Obama snark.

That you have not "heard" a plan is a matter of your selectivity, rather than an absence of transparency or access to democratic platform specifics. The same cannot be said of the R camp who, to this day, are vigorously extending their policy black-outs, since they know full well they cannot withstand national voter scrutiny.

Naturally, you have missed my point. I hold political conventions to a higher standard than I do forum WTF wrestling matches. I view these sideshows as a waste of valuable (and might I add, expensive) air time. I will not be watching ANY party switchers, not at the RNC nor at the DNC which, you may have heard will have their own defector panel assembled.

I have given my reasons. I, like so many other battle-fatigued voters, am on hate overkill. This is, in part, due to the amount of time I've already spent on this forum, where it is next to impossible to engage a civil debate.

Considering that voters donate the bucks that bankroll these convention extravaganzas, I think they deserve better than being subjected to six or eight rounds of scripted tit-for-tats from disgruntled voters, REGARDLESS of which sides they have abandoned or where they have landed. I'll be exercising my own right to tune in and out of what I find pertinent by keeping the mute button within arm's reach, in much the same way I handle corporate advertising while engaged in routine TV viewing.

Avoiding stress is a major factor in the management of type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure, two conditions I deal with every waking moment of my life. The negativity that saturates your post is emblematic of exactly the kind of rhetoric toward which I have learned to apply the water-off-a-duck's-back axiom, in my ongoing efforts to judiciously pick my battles wisely.

I do not need your seal of approval before making that choice.
Why so agitated? - Trigger Happy
[ In Reply To ..]
I was just merely pointing out that Obama's campaign has been mostly negative. Calling the opposing side the enemy is just one example of the negative message given by him. Just merely questioning why you are so blatantly offended by Americans who once voted for Obama but feel he hasn't done a good job.

As I recall...both sides have been negative at times. So it isn't like either side is innocent in this matter. Once again, just curious as to why you only see it from one side and not both.
this is Democrats talking about Obama - MTMT
[ In Reply To ..]
Just so you know, this movie shows Democrats and Independents who voted for Obama in '08, and what their feelings are now about how the country is doing and how they are doing as individuals. Maybe you should watch it before this year's election. But if you want to keep your head in the sand, that's your choice.
Couldn't resist the parting shot, huh? - What I want is to keep
[ In Reply To ..]
my glucose and blood pressure in check. It's as simple as that. Your compulsion to attack that choice says more about you than it does about me.
Oh but wait...am sure you'd be the first to tune into an R-bash fest - Cry me a river
[ In Reply To ..]
So you don't want to spend a day watching what you think is a lie, but you're okay with the three years of lies that the country has had to live through or the lies the O tells every time he makes a speech to get re-elected. Calling people of this country "enemies" if they are not in the democrat/socialist party.

Oh and guess what, a lot of people don't have the stomach to listen to any more lies put out by The O. Now there's some negative energy. And talk about negative energy, just read the posts by the liberals on this board. The hypocrisy and hatred is so overwhelming it's exhausting reading the posts. Every time I see The O now he looks angry and mean. All the democrats negative energy makes my glucose and blood pressure readings go through the roof. See I can do that too.

Why would you have thought any convention was for "promoting platforms and laying out party policies". Seems you have no problem when the Democrats use their convention to bash republicans. Silly is not a word I would think of.

And if you want to talk about negative energy your last paragraph just went through the roof.
R-bash fest - me

Yes, you are right. I was shocked when he called us Americans (who aren't his Obama zombies "enemies". What president says that? I know his agenda and it isnt good for America. He and his followers are working hard playing the blame game calling us racists, etc to shut us up while they consistently raise the national debt to what is it now 16 trillion?, and making making America weaker and weaker until we become just another country with little freedoms. Hope you can watch 2016: Obama's America at theatres near you.
Incoherence alert. Only the twisted contortions of RL - and his devotees
[ In Reply To ..]
could pervert context and extract this kind of falsehood from routine plain English. We've seen it done time and time again, even by the presidential wannabe.
Presidential wannabe? The incoherant alert - is your post
[ In Reply To ..]
Yup pretty hateful statement. Even during the last election Obama wasn't called a presidential wannabe.

One thing about your presidential wannabe (since he hasn't earned the respect of the seat he is sitting in and with what he is doing never will) is his 4 years in office will be recorded as the worst the country has ever seen. Jimmy Carter must be smiling because he no longer is the #1 worst.

I'll watch it... - SK

At the RNC. I'll also watch the DNC.

Maybe I'm a weirdo, but I like to challenge my own belief system. I find that by trying to see things from all perspectives either makes me rethink views or firms up my beliefs.

Either way, it'll probably be a mighty boring several days, but maybe I'll learn something. *yawn*

You're not a weirdo - MTMT

[ In Reply To ..]
Actually, I find it refreshing to hear from someone who isn't dead-set on one side or the other but is willing to see what both sides have to say. You will make a more informed decision based on the issues you feel are important.

Too many people vote for the wrong reasons and have no idea who the candidates really are or what they stand for. We should never vote for someone because of the color of their skin, their sex, or because they can throw a good pitch at the home opener.
