My premium is really outstanding, about one-fifth of what I was struggling to pay, and the coverage is better, too. Really, any big program can be rocky in the beginning, but the goal is good. Why not be supportive instead of nasty? Give it a chance! You might find yourself pleasantly surprised.

I have been trying to get coverage since it began. Have not been able to get on the website. Always down. I would have love to be able to get coverage, but nobody seems to care about getting our states website up and running. Over 50,000 people still uncovered. I go to the website and it's down, I call the number and voice message said extremely high volume, please call back later. Our state was supposed to be the leader for everyone, it is now the worse state because nobody has been able to sign up (those are headlines from our paper). Was told we had til March, then was told we had only 24 hours left.

What poor poor planning this is. Contacted every insurance company for our state. Not one of them offers a plan I can afford.

If you know if we are still able to receive subsidies will you please let me know. Every time I read the news I get conflicting information. Right now I'm hearing its too late, subsidies are over.

What are they gonna do to me, throw me in jail? I'm on unemployment, I only get part time unemployment, 150 a week. I get some kind of free health care from the city, I cannot find a job, I can't stand, walk or stoop so I can't work at McDonald's or as a cashier. Can't find a job as a transcriptionist anymore cause 300 other people want the same job. I don't know if the EUC program will continue after December 28th and I turned my phone off cause I don't care anymore. I don't want to talk to my family or friends cause there is nothing I can do that's happy anymore. No money, I used to make 50 thousand a few years ago, now I make nothing and I want to die even though I tell my doctor, No, I don't think about suicide. If I did that they would immediately send me to a hospital. When you're in the hospital you lose your unemployment, your apartment and my cat will starve. So I sit here and pray and pray and wait for a break. I have applied for jobs and took tests, but I can't pass the tests these days. I will never move in with anybody, my girlfriend moved in with some guy and she is his slave, so to speak. She does it just to survive. I feel hopeless and don't know what to do. thanks for letting me vent.

You said you were skeptical, and I applaud the courage you have to admit you might have been wrong.

I wonder how many other posters on this board would have the courage to admit that maybe they made a mistake.

I'm still waiting to hear. I'm on Medicare, and I think my income from Social Security Disability might qualify me for Medicaid.

Right now I'm having a problem receiving oxygen. I have a large concentrator that stays in my bedroom. I went to the doc this past Friday, and my pulse ox was 79. He wants me to have a portable concentrator to wear 24/7. Apparently Medicare will pay ZERO towards that, but my doc's nurse checked another supplier who told her that Medicaid might pay for it.

The unit itself costs a mere $3,000 if I were to buy it outright (I don't have that kind of money), or they would gladly rent me one for $20 a day (again, I can't afford $600 a month). I also have sleep apnea and can't tolerate any of the masks they've tried so far. (I think this week they're coming out again with a bigger selection.) I've had the sleep study done, and they diagnosed that I have a pretty strong case of it based on the results of their testing. (I get down to anywhere from 67 to 73.)

Anyway, I'm hoping that I'm eligible for Medicaid and that it covers the concentrator that my doc wants me to be using.

Again, congratulations that you now have health insurance coverage. I wish the same for each and every other person who needs it but doesn't have it -- yet!
