If the mayor can shop judges, so can OWS. Ever hear of an appeal? They have. Should they exhaust all those options, it's not as though there are no alternate sites for encampments.

Now, let's talk accomplishments. Strong-arm tactics, commando raids, inciting violence and other such disproportionate responses on the part of law enforcement and city officials do not play out well in the long run. Historically and within the context of the OWS movement, what they produce instead is galvanization of factions, renewed resolve, and exponentially expanding numbers of supporters. Despite the obviously coordinated efforts between cities that have taken these actions, protesters have returned to their original sites.

Perhaps the most significant point you are missing was best expressed in an interview with one of the NYC protesters who said, "You can evict hundreds of protesters, but you cannot evict an idea." This is a movement that was waiting to happen for a long, long time. Whether you want to accept it or not, these folks aren't going away anytime soon.

Your first clue that this will put a stop to nothing and will all be taken in stride would be the jubilant mood that prevails in Zuccotti Park as we speak.

This is good news. Now if politicians could just make health care affordable for all. I'd love the same rates as someone in Idaho or other states have.
