Judge is releasing Kim Davis--she can

Posted: Sep 8, 2015

I think he released her to mess with Huckabee and Cruz, sort of stole their thunder.

Judge ordered that she not interfere directly or indirectly with the process of license issues.

I think Judge will put her back in jail if she does.

And if you google her and read her bio on Wikipedia, she has no room to speak about anyone. She claims to be a Catholic but has "bad behavior" in her past which does not represent the church. I have copied the paragraph where it talks about being married 4 times and about the father of her children, which the way I am taking it she had an affair.

Davis is described as an "Apostolic Christian"[8] who worships three times a week[56] at the Solid Rock Apostolic Church near Morehead.[57] It is a congregation in the Apostolic Church, a Pentecostal Christian denomination.[58][59] She experienced a "religious awakening" in 2011, following her mother-in-law's "dying wish" that she attend church.[57] Following her conversion, she let her hair grow long, stopped wearing makeup and jewelry, and began wearing skirts and dresses that fell below the knee. This was in accordance with the standards of her church regarding modesty and dress for women.[2] Davis has held Bible study for inmates of the Rowan County jail.[57]

Davis has been married four times to three different men.[4] The first three marriages ended in divorce in 1994, 2006, and 2008. She is the mother of twins, who were born five months after her divorce from her first husband. Her third husband is the biological father of the twins, who were adopted by her second husband, Joe, who is also her fourth and current husband.[27]

She has broken a lot of Catholic rules yet she is passing judgment. What I call a hypocrite.

All she is signing when giving out the marriage license is that the couple have met the states requirements. Thats it. Nothing more. If they meet the requirements set down by the state then she does not have a leg to stand on.

If you can pick and choose the laws you want to abide by and the ones you don't agree with then you don't have to this country will be in a mess. Laws are set for a reason and we all must follow them no matter who you are, no matter if you like them or you don't.

Does she question couples who come in - about adultery, divorce

I agree with you about picking and choosing which laws you want to abide by being wrong. I am just curious about where you found that she is Catholic. I was brought up Catholic, and the info here suggests that she is Pentecostal.

I am sorry. I was wrong about her religion. - nana7

I read that wrong. She is Apostolic Church, a Pentecostal Christian denomination, which I thought was like a spin off of the Catholic religion.

Sorry about the mis-information.

I am glad they are releasing her. She is apparently a born again Christian, and the life she led before making her decision to be a Christian is not relevant, as it is under the blood of Christ at this point. Yes, she apparently made a lot of mistakes, but that was before her decision to become a Christian. In the Bible Jesus forgave many with very bad pasts, including Mary Magdalene who was apparently a harlot. She repented of her sins and it appears Kim Davis was trying to do the same. I think we should be careful about judging her. She's got a right to be convicted about something being wrong and yes, her past was bad, but she's tried to turn it around.

There has to be some kind of judgment made as to what is right and wrong. Those who approve of gay marriage, who is to say what else that could be come up with as okay - marrying a dog or marrying your father's wife??? I mean, there has to be some kind of limit on what is right and wrong, and the Bible is a good indicator.
it has nothing to do about her beliefs. - nana7
[ In Reply To ..]
It has to do with following the law. That's it in a nutshell. It's her job to follow all laws.

We are all God's children, ALL OF US, not some of us. The gay community - his children. If God is not happy with thier lifestyle then it is HIS place to judge, not ours.

Even while Jesus was being crucified he asked his Father to forgive those that have foresaken him.

She is entitled to her beliefs as anyone is but she is not entitled to break the law herself and use her office to do just that.

What it boils down to is if she cannot do her job to the fullest then she should resign.

We have the death penalty in many of the states. Why is that okay to put someone to death regardless of the reason? That is the 1st commandment, thou shall not kill. Who is screaming religion for that? Because that is the law thats why no one is screaming at the top of their lungs. And it is the law that she give marriage licenses to anyone who has met the state requirements.

There are a lot of laws I don't believe in and many that go against my religioius beliefs. The death penalty for one. I would not expect to sit on a jury where the death penalty is a possibility because I could not sentence someone to death. So that would be the first thing I would tell them I will not support the death penalty in any circumstance. Do you think they would let me sit on the jury then? Should I then ask for a religious waiver?

Bottom line we have laws we must abide by and if we don't follow them we are accountable. So is she.
Not about beliefs - katrina

God comes before anything, even a law, if it's an unGodly law. If you look back, cities such as Sodom and Gomorrah were partly destroyed because of homosexuality, and don't be naive to think that this nation can't have the same happen. The disciples of Christ were imprisoned by the government and ordered to quit preaching in the name of Jesus, so just because the government makes a law does not make it right. As our society continues to become more deviant and desiring to go its own way instead of Gods, our nation cannot expect success. She should not have to quit her job. She is standing up for what is right. Our country, bottom line, was a free country and was created to be free, not with this kind of crap going on and people being persecuted and having to quit their jobs due to their religious beliefs.

I understand that, but our laws should protect people's religious freedoms, and their beliefs should be respected. They should be able to keep their jobs and their faith at the same time. If they cannot, then the pendulum has swung the other way and someone is not being respected, and in this case, it's Christianity.

Should I be denied service at the DMV because a male employee's religious beliefs say that women can't drive? Should I be denied birth control by a doctor or pharmacist because of their religious beliefs? It's madness to run the country this way! Do you believe in the death penalty? If not that is a law that no one is trying to change. I don't hear anyone screaming that is against all religious beliefs. That is carried out across this country and that is okay why? Because it is the law.

Would I want to be the person pushing the buttons to kill that person, no, so if that was part of my job description I would either ask to be reassigned or find another job.

If I was ordered by the judge to uphold that law and I still refused then I would be in contemp of court and would rightfully so go to jail. I would either comply with the law or get reassigned or quit.

Laws are made for a reason for us all to follow.

BUT, the thing is you are telling Christian people what they have to accept too, and that is not right. You are forcing people to either quit their jobs or conform. You say you don't get to impose your beliefs, but yet you are forcing people to conform to your acceptance of something that they think is wrong. I'm not going to argue the point anymore, but either way something is getting forced and crammed down someone's throats, so it works both ways. I'm done talking about it. Just go ahead and ruin the country. That's the direction it's headed and has been headed now for the last several years. Ignore the Bible, ignore any kind of moral codes, just live any old way you choose, but be sure and leave Christian people with no rights. God is still in charge, no matter what direction you take this country, and He will win in the end. He loves all, but that doesn't mean He will condone sin or accept our behaviors, and judgment will come to our nation.
How will judgment come to our nation? - ?
[ In Reply To ..]
I have yet to see some form of Godly hellfire and brimstone come to other nations who have legalized gay marriage years ago (including some of the wealthiest and happiest nations on earth, including Canada, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Belgium, etc.). Maybe Christians should be less concerned about what other people do in their own bedrooms and concentrate on their own salvation.
how will judgment come? - alice
[ In Reply To ..]
Christian people are concerned because they love our nation and they see the negative direction that things are taking morally, and they are trying to fight for it. They are worried and concerned. Give it time, God is patient. It's not just legalization of gay marriage, it's other negative directions our country has taken, and now even trying to force Christianity to conform to their beliefs. It is getting to be very hard to remain a Christian now, and you are forcing that issue, you are forcing God out. I would give it time, God is very patient. It's a gradual turning away from God, but it's all been predicted.

Yes, and the disciples of Jesus were also put into jail for doing things the government had ordered them to do as well. Does not make government right. There was a time when I would have thought homosexuality was right and been like many of you, but when I was in my 20's I turned around. I needed God in my life, had bulimia and made a decision to accept Jesus Christ. Like Kim Davis, the Bible became real to me and my life changed. I was able to quit practicing bulimia. That's been almost 30 years ago and I have never changed my mind. I pray Kim never turns around either. I just know all of this is real to me. I had no previous multiple marriages and I am married to a Christian man for the last 17 years. This is my life, as it is for Kim. She had been in that office my understanding is for 20 some years. This one ruling has changed her life for the negative. Her job will never be the same. This is not right, and an indication of more troubles to come. Jesus is the Way, Truth and Life. I know it is hard for people that have not been born again to understand. I once talked about "Holy Rollers" myself and belittled and laughed about them, and I would say probably some of the same things you all are saying when I was living outside of the Christian life.

Not pick and choose which laws she will enforce and which ones she will not. When she was running for her seat she did not tell everyone as long as the laws are within her religious beliefs she would abide and if not she wouldn't.

So if the next county clerk was Catholic and did not believe in divorce and someone came in who was divorced to get a marriage license and the clerk refused that person you would be okay with that? Where does this stop? Then doctors should be able to pick and choose who they want to treat and God forbid you needed him to treat you immediately and he refused. Where does this stop?

That is why religion cannot be the end all. You don't have to like how I live my life or anything else about me but that does not give you the right to refuse me a service based solely on you not liking how I live my life.
But all laws aren't enforced are they? Look at sanctuary - cities protecting illegals.
