Anyone watching the miracle in Chile?

I've just been mesmerized whatching this miracle unfold 24/7. My heart was pounding as #1 cave entrapment survivor was lifted to the surface. Up to #5 and so far everything going as planned. Will hold my breath untiil all 33 and 4 rescuers are safe and out. I just hope and pray this capsule and tunnel endure the many trips required to rescue all! Extraordinary night!

This is unprecedented and I can't keep watching as it unfolds.

while I'm working. Truly amazing! I can't imagine the feelings of those miners as they are going through that tunnel. That in itself would be a very scary experience, but I guess to know that you are on your way out and being rescued is what you would try to think of the whole way through.

I saw the first 5, couldn't sleep when I heard they were going to try the rescue last night. After that, I had to stop for a while. Too emotional.

Did you know a company from PA sent the drill and a company from TX sent the monitors? I'm not sure where the 'baskets' came from, but it's wonderful.

As I told DH, if the US would have the same type of shelters in the mines here that they do in Chile, we would probably have minimal deaths in our mines.

What an amazing story that was - I learned a lot from watching it

I found the story mesmerizing. Watching the faces of their wives, mothers, children and relatives when the capsule came out of the tunnel was just one of the most happiest stories I've seen in a long time. I think I was crying harder than some of the families LOL

I learned a lot from that story. First, every time they showed a picture of a miner it looked like a mug shot. The person that emerged was totally different in looks. I learned to never just a person by a picture.

I learned the Chilean people are very heartwarming loving people. I learned that the men do anything needed to support their families. Even though I'm sure at times it looked pretty dismal for them they leaned on each other and never lost hope.

It was such an amazing story I cannot wait to read the book when it comes out.

I wrote a few weeks ago about getting a stray cat fixed. Well low and behold Thursday I put his food down near the entrance to the carrier and he started eating (starved like usual), and I gently and slowly guided him into the carrier. HOORAY!!!!! I have followed this case since this child first went missing. Honestly I could not have been a juror as I feel that this girl is guilty, have for a very long time. The fake nanny, fake friends, fake job, fake trips to the beach, child missing for goodness knows how long and the mom is out partying and having a good time, how could she do it? Even if she killed her child by accident, how could she go out and do all of the partying that she was doing with no remorse, no guilt, nada? Watching ...
