Shhhh, dont tell anybody, but gas prices could

We wouldn't want to undermine Romney's sky-is-falling message.  A foxbusiness report, so it must be true!

Sheesh is right - you don't get it. And what's up with this obsession about posters disliking a post. The obsession is on the liberal side cos ya don't like people disliking what you like? I can hear Harry Potter right now.

So, here, since it too difficult to understand, let me explain. The key word in the article is "expected". Nobody knows what will happen. If gas prices drop that's great, but here on the west coast (and other places in the country) when other places are either dropping or staying the same and ours remains the highest (and has even gone up since the whole gas dropping hype) in the country, that saying "I'll believe it when I see it" comes to mind.

Since nobody is a mind reader (even Fox), nobody knows what gas prices will do. Has Fox been given some magical powers that we don't know about.

And hey, what's up with posting a link to "Faux" because anytime anything goes against the crats you'll say "Faux" is not credible, and what's the latest one - "please stop watching Faux, they don't know what they are talking about". So....now that they post something you agree with they are now magically credible?

The dislikes are not because anyone wants gas prices to rise. Anyone who even thinks that, well that's just scary that people of that mind set are even allowed to vote.

The dislikes are because it's not believable. Not when people are saying gas prices are dropping yet the west coast gas prices are rising. - Sheesh!

What obsession? âDislikesâ is a legitimate use of a - metaphoric figure of speech metaphoric figure of s

[ In Reply To ..]
to address folks whose identities are otherwise unknown. I am aware of a previous post a few days back that used the same rhetorical device but, contrary to what you may assume, I am not that poster. Even though the use of metaphors is partisan neutral, this is not the first time Iâve seen cons go postal when they encounter them, for whatever nebulous reasons they conjure up at the time. I do not relate to any sector of the Harry Potter cottage industry since I like to keep myself grounded in reality, so I cannot comment on ***

The fact that you live in a state that elects to tax the bejeebers out of gas does not change the downward trend of the price of gas that has already been reported nationwide over the past months, and is indeed EXPECTED to continue. Perhaps you should take that up with your local officials. West Coast states are all blue, so itâs likely there are state mandates in place requiring the use of high-quality fuels as a measure to help control the pea soup air pollution arising out of the cumulative effect of long-term lax air standard regulations. This GOP policy obsession is part of the reason the consequential expenses are being passed along to consumers. You are probably stuck with that permanent component of your higher gas prices because, (a) West Coast progressives will back off from higher environmental standards when Hades freezes over, and (b) the GOP will continue to consider regulation a 4-letter word while promoting its anti-science agendas at least into the next millennium.

Price differentials have nothing to do with âseeing is believingâ occurrences, but rather are a function of political realities that vary from one state to the next, meaning that there is no âhypeâ component to falling gas prices. Hope thatâs not too difficult to understand.

The fox link was provided to ward off the knee-jerk slay-the-messenger responses from cons whenever any other sources besides Fox, Breitbart, Beck, Limbaugh, conservative blogs or chain emails are cited. Had you read the article, you would realize they did not use a crystal ball, psychics, horoscope readings or tarot cards to substantiate their premise. Instead, they discussed sound economic metrics such as supply and demand, consumer confidence, disposable income stats, market indicators, seasonal predictors, futures speculation trends, etc. They were quite specific when they said the lowest prices should occur right around Halloween and continue through election time.

This brings us back to the original subject that remains unaddressed, that being Romneyâs root-for-failure directives to other GOP candidates not to spread any good news. Heâd be happy to know the article did issue two caveats: Hurricane season and the situation in Iran. Romney could always pray for a Katrina event in the Gulf but, alas, meteorological transitions from La Nina to El Nino conditions will probably dash that hope. Perhaps he could call Bibi up and encourage him to rattle some sabers or even declare an all-out nuclear war against Iran sometime around Labor Day.
Obsession of the dislikes - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
The board is riddled with the liberals unhappy that people disliked a post they liked. They want to know why. Instead of addressing the issue originally discussed they are obsessed about the ones who disliked the post.

ob·sess (uhb-ses]
verb (used with object)
1. to dominate or preoccupy the thoughts, feelings, or desires of (a person); beset, trouble, or haunt persistently or abnormally: Suspicion obsessed him.

verb (used without object)
2. to think about something unceasingly or persistently; dwell obsessively upon something.

The following illustrates liberal posters obsessed with the ones who dislike a post:

Hey Dislikes, how much more would you like us to pay for gas?

let's hear from the dislikes

I'd be interested in hearing from the one "dislike"

two dislikes to this? - ridiculous (that was in a reply to the one right above it about wanting to hear from the dislikes).

addendum: I'd be interested in hearing from the 5 dislikes

I find it funny that the liberals will "talk" about wanting to discuss the issues, but they obsess about the ones who dislike something they like and want to know why.

A lot of times people will dislike a post not for the reasons anyone who likes the post thinks. Take for example the one who assumed wrong that by disliking a post it meant we wanted higher gas prices. Sometimes you have to just realize not everyone is going to agree with everyone and there are valid reasons why we like or dislike a post.

Now, onto what you wrote about.

First paragraph: I do not know what post you are referring to. I also do not know you or what posts you do or do not write, so I assume nothing, unlike your post that is filled with assumptions.

Harry Potter - What a great series that was. Since you are unfamiliar with it, it is a series of 7 novels written by JK Rowling. They are quite fun to read and watch. It is of course strictly fantasy, but wonderful actors and actresses and its been fun to watch them grow up. They have the querkiest sayings. Like when Ron Weasley said something that made no sense Harry Potter said "how would I know that, that's completely mental". Just all good fun. If you haven't seen them I highly recommend them. Just good fun to watch to take you mind off things.

Second paragraph:

Yes I understand that gas has gone down in some areas of the US. Never stated it didn't. What I did state was, and I'll copy and paste since I'm not sure you understood it. "The key word in the article is "expected". Nobody knows what will happen. If gas prices drop that's great, but here on the west coast (and other places in the country) when other places are either dropping or staying the same and ours remains the highest (and has even gone up since the whole gas dropping hype) in the country, that saying "I'll believe it when I see it" comes to mind".

That's all I was saying. No need to read into something wrong. If the gas prices go down that is great news indeed. That is what everyone wants on the contrary to what some think. Again though the key word is "expected". Since nobody has a time machine and can move forward, we won't know until it happens. I've read that Romney is "expected" to win too. Again, doesn't mean it will happen. We just have to wait and see. Nobody knows what the future will bring. And since nobody has crystal balls (at least that I'm aware of), nobody can say for definite whether prices will go down or not. As from experience they were "expected" to already go down, but as we can see from proof they did not. That's all I was saying. People can take a guess all they want. Until it happens nobody knows.

The next paragraph I stand by my original post. Since you agree with this article because it is good news and some believe it will benefit democrats, now they use a "Faux" news article. When it doesn't agree with what liberals want to believe no matter how true the article is we are told "Faux not credible", "stop watching Faux. They don't know what they are talking about". So the question still remains, why is every other article written by "Faux" news not credible, but this one article is? It's a conundrum I tell ya.
being interested is not being obsessed - that is a judgment you are making

They can relax, because just as no jobs are forthcoming from the Cons, I'm sure the Cons want those prices as high as they can influence them to get so that Obama can be blamed by them.

Romney Would Index SS Benefit To Prices Rather ThanSep 22, 2012
Here's short explanation (if you stick to the summary at the top) of the effects of the various ways we can handle SS benefit increases. It really seems like our choice is to either 1. Accept lower and lower payments over the years, indexed to prices (Republican plan), or 2. Increase our SS tax paid with each paycheck now (7.5%+ us and 7.5%+ employer) and get benefits that keep pace with general income levels over the years, indexed to wages (the way we've been doing it). http://www ...

Syria: Oil Prices Vs Wall StreetAug 29, 2013
That September drop you were expecting for gasoline prices? Don't hold your breath. Currently, gasoline averages $3.55 a gallon nationally, down from $3.63 a month ago. Most analysts had expected a drop to about $3.40 by early fall on seasonal demand slumping following the summer driving season. Not now. Some forecasters predict a short-term spike of up to 10 cents a gallon. Crude oil prices and gas futures are soaring on growing fears that if the U.S. military strikes at Syria for its h ...
