Scott DesJarlais

Posted: Nov 5, 2014

Among the people Republican voters re-elected last night was this charming fellow, Scott DesJarlais. Scott is a member of the US House of Reps, from Tennessee, a physician, and a divorcee.

How swell is this guy? Well, two years ago it came out that he:

A) Cheated on his wife

B) Engaged in violent and threatening behavior against his wife

C) Had at least four different affairs

D) Including at least two with patients

E) Prescribed unnecessary pain meds for and smoked marijuana with one of the patients he was sleeping with

F) Despite his pro-life platform, he pressured both his wife and one of his mistresses to have abortions.

And despite all this, Tennessee re-elected this dirt ball. This must be more of that cognitive disconnect that conservatives have embraced.

;

I think it was more a vote AGAINST Obama than FOR anyone in particular - in this case. SM

The American people are fed up with the lies and underhanded tactics of this man in the White House. The economy is in the toilet, Obamacare is a colossal failure that is costing more money than anyone bargained, he's gotten us into another war because of premature withdrawal from Iraq, there are too many scandals to keep track of, he's disengaged and goes golfing 10 minutes after news breaks of someone being beheaded, he trades terrorists for a deserter, he does nothing for a Marine held illegally in a Mexican jail, he spends a lot of taxpayer money on vacations and jetsetting around the country "fundraising," etc., etc. I could go on and on. Come on, this isn't rocket science.

I seem to remember a democrat president caught cheating... - Layra

yup but that is all forgotten - sour grapes

It's too easy and tempting to ignore those facts and to lash out at anyone not affiliated with the party.

Right - Not a TPR

Sure, because what Bill C. did was *exactly* the same as cheating on one's wife with four (or more) different people, threatening one's wife with violence, sleeping with one's patients, smoking pot and prescribing narcotic medications for recreational purposes, getting one's wife and a mistress pregnant and trying to force them into abortions, despite claiming to be pro-life and pro-family values.

That's really the thing that bothers many progressives - the sheer amount of hypocrisy that the Republicans engage in. They should change their motto to "Do as I tell you, not as I do". And their new logo could be a giant toilet overflowing onto their blissfully ignorant constituency.

And remember, he didn't inhale. - sm

I Appreciate Senator Tim Scott (R-SC)Jul 14, 2016
If you think African Americans are not targeted or racially profiled, listen to this guy, a black GOP senator who was stopped 7 times by cops last year. I have linked it, but also here is his statement yesterday. It is powerful because it is his personal experience.   Scott’s address on Wednesday came after four other senators urged their colleagues to take a vote on criminal justice reform ― something many lawmakers say is badly needed. “There is a deep divide between ...

Scott Walker Fired By His OwnMay 22, 2015
In his two-year budget, Gov. Scott Walker called for a merger between WEDC and the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority, to be known as the Forward Wisconsin Development Authority. Earlier this month, Walker scrapped the merger plan, calling for all proposed agency mergers to be removed from the budget. He also asked lawmakers not to move forward with separate legislation propo ...

Scott Walker (Wisconsin) And RomneyAug 22, 2012

Republican Gov. Scott Of Florida Trying To Keep Citizens FromAug 21, 2013
clearly does not believe the lies he's serving to the people he is supposed to serve. Note that between 20 and 25% of all Floridians lack health insurance altogether. The number of those who are "insured" but still cannot afford to go to a doctor is much higher still. Coincidentally, there's tremendous overlap between the other states with the highest percentages of uninsured people and those with Republican governors. "Scott, who ran an international hospital company before r ...

I guess Scott Walker needs to go back to college to earn that diploma he never bothered with . . . * * * Wisconsin Gov. Conservatives Scott Walker Vs. Ted Cruz On OutsourcingMar 23, 2015
I can't figure out why Ted Cruz is the hot ticket, right now, over Scott Walker, considering they're so similar on their views - what does he have Scott Walker doesn't other than "hot-topic" ethnicity? Obama Has Not Right To Tell Scott Walker To Bone Up On Foreign PolicyApr 08, 2015
He hasn't done a good job at foreign policy himself. In response to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s criticism of his Iran policy, President Obama suggested that the presumed candidate for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination “bone up on foreign policy.”   In other words, anyone who disagrees with the president on Iran’s nuclear program, or any other national security issue, is just not knowledgeable enough to understand. Of course, there is a very ...

It did not go well. The Wisconsin governor mumbled something about the need for an “aggressive strategy,” which prompted Raddatz to ask what, specifically, that would entail. Walker then suggested “other surgical methods” beyond the airstrikes currently carried out by a U.S.-led coalition, ...
