Sandra Fluke Compares Contraception Coverage

Posted: Feb 2, 2013

Now birth control is a disease treatment. Oh my. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXLv3NY1Njk&noredirect=1;

I didn't draw that parallel - sm

She wasn't comparing the disease process. She was comparing the religious rationale an employer might apply to denying coverage for any given medication.

I wonder if the religious groups who want to deny women access to birth control allow coverage for Viagra, Cialis, etc.

Figured she's surface again - np

Bachmann Compares Self To Serial KillerJun 27, 2011
Maybe there can be a history round in the Republican primary debates. In an interview after she announced her candidacy, Michele Bachmann promised to act in the spirit of Waterloo, Iowa’s, John Wayne. But it turns out John Wayne Gacy, the serial killer, lived in Waterloo, while John Wayne, the movie star, lived in Winterset, nearly a three-hour drive away. "Well, what I want them to know is just like John Wayne was from Waterloo, Iowa. That's the kind of spirit that I have, too, ...

Obama Compares His Las Vegas Volunteers To Sep 14, 2012
Something mentally wrong with Obama.  Obama Reachy/Stretchy Shows has the unmitigated obnoxious, arrogant cajones to compare a dead American Ambassador along with murdered Americans serving overseas in the ME to his campaign workers in their fight against Republican.  Every time you think Obama the Slug  cannot sink lower, Obama proves he can. ...

If My Employer Told Me What Contraception I Could UseJun 30, 2014
I would be very, very, very angry. I am angry for the women who work for Hobby Lobby and any other corporation who would presume to have control over my body. I am already stressed out enough as it is with trying to make near perfect mega lines per hour at minimum wage and dealing with no work available, inconsistent QA policies, lack of time off, and demands for overtime.  I cannot believe that 5 old men have that power to discriminate against women, and now my employer has that&nb ...

Expert Compares Free Birth Control To Forced AbortionsAug 02, 2011
Making access to birth control easier for American women is akin to “unrestricted, unlimited sex anytime,” and China’s policy of only allowing one child per couple, according to an abortion “expert” featured on Fox News on Tuesday. Family-PAC Vice President Sandy Rios was invited on Fox’s “America’s Newsroom” to discuss the Obama administration’s order that insurance providers cover birth control at no extra cost. Opposite he ...

Sandra BlandJul 27, 2015
I am not too sympathetic.  She was rude to the officer.  I was taught to respect authority, be it teachers, police, etc.  I know that some cops are bullies.  In the way back, boys with long hair were routinely pulled over just because of their appearance.  It was not fair, but each incidence did not warrant a media event.  I was with my bf and we were arrested and put in the cruiser.  They treated us rudely and told us we could not speak to each other.  My ...

My Take On The Sandra Bland Post BelowJul 29, 2015
I have read and followed the Sandra Bland case wtih some interest, due to my own personal experience back in April.  I was arrested and taken to a local county jail on a VERY minor charge.  At the time of my arrest, I was living on a ranch, whch had a gate which was padlocked  at ALL times.  The cops proceeded to park their squad cars at the end of the gate and walk about a quarter to a half mile to my residence to arrest me.  I will be 60 in a few months, I am white, an ...

"Tasteless" Hannity Compares Mass. Race To EarthquakeJan 20, 2010
By David EdwardsTuesday, January 19th, 2010 -- 3:31 pm Less than a week has passed since hundreds of thousands of Haitians fell victim to the worst earthquake in their history and Sean Hannity has already co-opted the term to score political points. MSNBC's Keith Olbermann awarded the Fox News host "Worst Person in the World" Monday night for repeatedly saying that the election of Scott Brown in Massachusetts would be a "political earthquake." On at least three separate occasions, Hannity ...

Healthcare: "Congressman Compares Women To Smokers"Nov 10, 2009
What do women and cigarettes have in common? Higher healthcare premiums. Therefore, being a woman must be a pre-existing condition, right? Not exactly. But a Republican congressman from Texas got caught with his foot in his mouth during a late-night meeting of the Rules Committee last week. Those Who Are Against BCP CoverageMar 16, 2012
Do you believe insurance should not cover maternity costs also.  It is a lady's choice to become pregnant, so is that the same category of covering birth control pills.  How about should employers be allowed to deny coverage of pregnancy if mother is not married.  That might violate some employers religious beliefs to pay for illegitimate children. Interested in where people draw the line.     ...

Has Anyone Watched Coverage Of Crowds Outside The Courtroom? Jul 05, 2011
My family called me not understanding how a mother not report a child missing for 31 days and no criminal charges were made.  I keep hearing from commentators saying the justice system worked.  I want to know how the justice system worked, freeing an obviously guilty person to continue her life as if her daughter was not murdered.  Just heard on the news the Anthony family is being threatened.  Can you imagine what happens to Casey once she is free as far as threats on ...

Medical Insurance Coverage: Will We Receive Any?Nov 15, 2012
Now that the elections are over, it seems Obamacare will be going into effect. What do you think the MTSOs are going to do?  The new law will require all businesses with over 50 employees to offer insurance.     It really would be nice if the large companies did the right thing and offered insurance without having to meet line count guidelines. Insurance being tied to line count always leaves a bad taste in the mouth of employees because when work is low, you ...

Obama Stands Up To Bishops And Protects Birth Control CoverageJan 22, 2012

Liberals Push Dental Coverage For All, Health Insurance For Illegals--And MoreJan 20, 2015
At a time when Republicans are trying to roll back certain provisions of the Affordable Care Act (if not the entire law), a liberal advocacy group is looking ahead to the next round of taxpayer-subsidized health care "reform." Families USA says the ACA was a good start, but it has now outlined 19 specific proposals "to improve health care for everyone in our nation." The plan, called Health Reform 2.0, would "improve coverage and extend care." That means making dental coverage universall ...
