Good sentiments, and my "Greatest Generation" Dad has lived it for 85 years, mostly voting moderate Republican. (No longer.) But I know what you mean. The greatest generation knew that you need a strong federal government for a lot of different and important reasons. And that can take raising revenue, i.e. taxes. My grandpa always seemed proud to pay his taxes. He saw it as part of the cost of living in this great land.

When you think about it, it's really sad. So many had high hopes that this would be different and not surprisingly they were all dissappointed. Oh sure, he still has his stragglers hanging on, more for spite than principal, but when they realize they are not getting their "stash" either from him they realize that it's nothing more than fluff.

I hope people will vote next time with some knowledge about the candidates and what they have done in their careers. We really need someone to bring the country back. Just haven't found the right person for the job.
