With these silly little likes and dislikes. What exactly do you dislike? That your president is a lying SOS or that it was pointed out to you? Or being embarrassed that you fell for it? Which exactly is it? Cracks me up either way.

a speech and a fake press conference? And I bet you vote. Scary. No outrage, really, those of us with any sense at all are pretty much used to his lies.
It's not an issue - The issues are the issue

I understand being upset about views on abortion, welfare, etc.
But I could not care less about whether his press conferences are fake or real or staged...
What president has NOT planned out every move in his campaign?
They can plan it, but most people can speak without notes. - Except a liar. Has to cover his butt.(sm)

Besides, this was supposed to be a press conference to discuss ISSUES, not a campaign speech.
Conceded he had a planned visit, referred to notes. - Have a nice day. NM

his head bobs around so much between his eye contact with the audience and the notes on the podium, he reminds me of a dashboard hula-girl ornament. At least he's not using a handwritten high-school palm pilot, so I guess that what qualifies as an evolved GOP VP pick.
Now I know you're jealous. That's plain nuts. - He is an excellent speaker (sm)

I think the real surprise media got was Akin's biology-challenged bombshell which ignited the war on women media feeding frenzy without president's having to lift a finger. If we must follow suit and parse word salad, then I suggest a more accurate read would be an "unannounced/unscheduled" appearance. It would be 100% expected that the president assume his role as our national leader by being both open to and welcoming of weighing in on issues Akin raised. Had he not done so, there'd be he!! to pay, wouldn't there?
The notion that his staff would feel the need to "ensure" that subject would come up is pure balderdash, seeing as how it was plastered all over the airways by noon. If by "scripted" the author means "prepared," I have no argument with that. Of course, President Obama is prepared to talk about women's repro rights at the drop of a hat and would not need to concoct any new earth-shaking strategies on how to handle the inquiries. He simply reiterated his long-standing policy stance that we heard the last time the GOP stepped into their own poopy over-reach on lady parts micromanagement schemes.
It's been said before and is worth repeating. This dustup is NOT a democratic problem, so stop trying to make it so. In fact, it's a great little "surprise" gift from the wingers we could have never seen coming our way just days before the upcoming Republican National Circus debut.

An unplanned, unscheduled visit to the WHPC is not a "staged surprise". The link you provided is an opinion piece. OPINION. It is a paranoid concoction of squirrely ideation. You appeared to fall for it.

Two months, huh? Now let's see here. How did we spend those dog days of summer campaign days? As I recall, the Obama camp was vetting the presumptive nominee. Toward the end of June, Romney was trying to clean up his comical "self-deport" policy act with a limp attack on Obama's dream act EO while trolling for the Latino vote. This pander later led us to the death squad donor story.
He was having economic messaging woes from, of all people, Scott Brown, who he ordered to stop touting MA jobs gains....and other unruly camp surrogates who had a knack for straying off script. Various GOP Romney endorsements were trickling in, but were tepid at best. With his CEO and MA gov mgmt styles under scrutiny and Bain Capital under assault from multiple fronts over outsourcing of jobs, Mitt was trying to figure out his next pivot. He took a stab at an "I-feel-your-pain" middle class appeal that went over like a lead balloon.
A couple of truly significant SCOTUS rulings came down (1st the AZ immigration law, then the biggie that upheld ACA constitutionality). The latter decision helped underscore how Romneycare was the daddy of all mandate plans. The release of tax returns began repeatedly rearing its ugly head in tandem with details being exposed on Romney's not-so-well-kept secretive offshoring of money.
Poll numbers began opening a gap favorable to the president that continued to trend outside margins of error. Voters were becoming much more familiar with Mitt's expansive flip-flop record. It was around mid-July I remember his getting booed and hissed at while addresing the NAACP gathering.
Then we had two mass shootings in less than a month that threw the dialog into the gun control/domestic terrorism track, not to mention the ChickFilA thing that put so much focus on the related issue of hate speech and bigotry. Meanwhile, attack ads were becoming increasingly acidic and never did get tidied up. Then my personal favorite thing happend. Mitt' Magical Misery Tour overseas. What a field day THAT was. It never really did put much of a damper on all the curiosity mounting over his tax returns.
It took a while for that uproar to die down, despite the wingers best efforts to float the Churchill bust scandal. Then, voila! A new VP pick and the vetting started all over again, complete with a starkly redefined campaign theme which slighted the poor neglected economists AGAIN...MC, SS and entitlement wars. This week it's Akin and social engineering/women's reproductive rights. Next week it'll be the RNC, the week after that, the DNC.
Yep. That Romney camp sure has made this a long, hot summer all right! Alas, sooner or later those poor economists are bound to catch a break but, in the meantime, I won't be wasting any time worrying about their hurt feelings. In fact, it's rather refreshing to see how the Team Romney keeps pushing them to the back of the line
PS. If R&R can't control a message, how in the world should voters believe they can run the country?
R&R cant control a message? Heck, Obama cant - control his own VP... pathetic. nm

by throwing the O camp one gold nugget after another. Keep up the good work, since it's given the president plenty of time to map out his detailed strategy to whip some butt by the time the DNC rolls around.
