that qualified them for Massachusetts benefits....benefits that stopped in 2012 when their increased income exceeded that criteria. The parents also qualified for assistance when their boys were children. All articles refer to both the parents' and the Tamerlan Tsarnaev Family's benefits as transitional, as in the Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance. Guess you will have to take it up with the Commonwealth, but it's highly unlikely their pols will be inclined to change their policies toward either immigrants or their welfare recipients, nor should they. The Tsarnaev parents and brother qualified under state law to get assistance, so they got it. No scandal here, just the way the law is administered.

Not really surprising how much of it goes to Muslim or Arab countries, but what the money is actually used for was an eye opener for me. Most Arab countries are oil rich....so my question is, why can't they take care of their own military and police forces and let us put some of those billions against reducing the deficit?
