NY State judge blocks NY's ban on supersized soft drinks.

Please take your freaky control issues and go home. Don't need you telling me what size drink I'm allowed to have. It is not your place to tell us what we can and cannot eat or drink. You ban a drink larger than 16 ounces, guess what, I'm going to buy three 16 ounces soda's, so instead of your controlling ways, instead of letting me have an 18 ounce drink I now will be having 48 ounces. Why? Because I'm like that, because I may feel the sudden urge to drink more than I really want because you say I cant'. Because I am an American and I live in a country where we have the freedoms to eat and drink what we want and how much we want. I am in good shape, I have no diabetes or heart disease or any major illness in my family yet you try and come off with some lame excuse that soda will give me diabetes. You don't know this. There is no proof that sodas cause diabetes.

So what's next, you gonna ban bread, mayonnaise, butter, Oreos, chips, fruit juice. You gonna start dictating whether someone can have one sandwich or two, how big of a portion of potato salad someone is allowed to eat, whether we can have a steak or not. Where does the control freak madness end. You're trying to penalize healthy people because there are overweight or unhealthy people. Why don't you try actually helping those people. Offer discounts to clubs or weight loss clinics or start an city wide exercise plan for people "who want to do this". It is not your job as mayor to decide what and how much people can eat or drink. If you really cared you would have included milkshakes in your ban too. Maybe you should address the control freak personality disorder you seem to have first. Take some time off work and get that in order. There are clinics and medication that helps. Then come back and actually focus on your job which doesn't include controlling every aspect of people's lives (i.e what they can eat and drink and how much). That is not your job or your place.

And by the way, hang it up on your appeal. You will not win. You are from NY, yet you have no idea what the people of NY are really like. We don't like our personal lives being controlled by people into population control.

Here's a quote that fits this situation:

"I'm the kind of guy who likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecued ribs with the side order of gravy fries?" I WANT high cholesterol. I wanna eat bacon and butter and BUCKETS of cheese, okay? I want to smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section. I want to run through the streets naked with green Jell-o all over my body reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly might feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiener". - Edgar Friendly.

Obama Agency Rules Pepsi's Use Of Aborted Fetal Cells In Soft Drinks - Business As UsualMay 08, 2012
I heard about the story of smuggled capsules of human flesh made in you know where.  As if finding out they eat eggs cooked in urine of small boys was not enough to make me gag.  So, then found that Pepsi uses fetal cells as a flavor enhancer (at least that's my understanding of the article - could be wrong of course).  Then I read that Obama's administration said it's okay to use aborted fetus in Pepsi.  Again, maybe I read that wrong.  Either way, never ...

Expired Children Drinks Jul 01, 2013
This weekend at a fireworks celebration in our town someone donated drinks to the children. You know those little flavored plastic bottles, maybe 6 inches tall. Some had a plastic cap that you pullled and it unraveled and came off, some had tin foil.  One child was heard to say "Hey there must have been some paper in my drink".  He evidently swallowed something.  Another person looked at the container and it had clearly printed an expiration date of 2009 on it and when inspected s ...

Senate Blocks VA Accountability BillMay 24, 2014
It's going to a committee. Why? Do they really need to study this bill? It's very simple. Why this bill should become law: The bill would give the VA Secretary greater authority to fire employees and remove them from SES service due to poor performance in the same manner a Member of Congress can remove a member of their staff. The bill would require the VA Secretary to give the Senate and House Veterans’ Affairs Committees notice of removal within 30 days of removing an indi ...

Washington (AFP) - In a symbolic rebuke to US President Barack Obama's unilateral action on immigration, the Republican-led House of Representatives voted Thursday to block his plan to shield millions of people from deportation. The bill, which passed 219-197 along party lines, was introduced by conservatives furious with what they consider Obama's abuse of power when he announced his executive order last month.
