Must see, black woman rips council over illegal
Posted: Aug 19, 2015
amnesty, free housing, healthcare for breaking the law.
LOS ANGELES — Chanell Temple, a black woman originally from Huntington Park, delivered a strident, politically incorrect speech against illegal immigration on Monday evening at the local city council meeting.
Temple, who now lives in the Hawthorne area of Los Angeles, was protesting the council’s recent decision to appoint two illegal aliens to city commissions. She told Breitbart News she had not intended to speak at the meeting, but was offended when someone compared illegal aliens to slaves. She added that she supports Donald Trump “a hundred percent.”
…undocumented illegal immigrants who have been assigned to the position of commissioner.
The Huntington Park City Council is being paid with taxpayers’ money to do a job within rules and regulations. According to your board behind you, it says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” I want to paraphrase that and say: Where there is no law, the people perish.
In the U.S. we have one rule of law. I also want to talk about the Fourteenth Amendment, which was added to the Constitution in regards to blacks being given birthright citizenship because blacks helped build this country, including the White House—twice.
(Interjection: Right on!)
Please do not tarnish the name of black slaves by comparing them to your plight. There’s no comparison. None.
Black slaves did not break into this country, okay. They were brought here against their will. Also, black slaves are not immigrants. Immigrants are people with a choice, they come here by choice. Black slaves didn’t have choice.
That’s offensive to me because I’m a descendant of a black slave. And trust me, Ancestry.com works and I can trace my people back from when they landed here on the boat. I know the village where my people came from in Africa, OK? So please, do not try to get away with using that. That’s very offensive.
This country has been good to illegal immigrants. You have been given jobs, houses, tax money, free tax money, welfare, Social Security, they open up business for you guys, et cetera.
None—I don’t know of any illegal aliens who have been hung from a tree. I don’t know of any of them illegal aliens who have dogs been sicced on. So that’s very offensive for you to sit up here and allow these people to say that and get away with it. Things that people are going to feel sorry for. That’s very offensive, OK? Do the right thing.
My people get three strikes. I have a nephew in jail now–22 years!–for something he didn’t do.
My people commit a crime, they go to jail. You people commit a crime, they get amnesty. It is wrong…
(Cheers, applause)
And we’re not going to have it. We’re not going to have a set of laws for you people and a set of laws for us.
And if you can’t follow the law, talking about “perish,” your job needs to perish.
You get paid with taxpayers’ money and you are misappropriating taxpayers’ money when you pick up your check.
(Cheers, applause)
In an interview Tuesday morning, Temple explained further:
I grew up in the Huntington Park area. I was raised in that area. I live in Hawthorne now. That area over there has been a Latino area for decades, for a long time. They witnessed racial tension in that area. My mother was a property owner over in that area.
What I said last night was not my intention. What kind of disturbed me is when someone got up and talked about slavery. There is no comparison. They need to stop pretending like they are being mistreated. They have pushed and disturbed the community. They have 95% of the jobs and they still act like they are mistreated.
Yes I am black, but I’m an American. They are getting away with murder. I was in Sacramento recently, and I protested about Kate Steinle. Then they get a get-out-of-jail-free card, and my nephew is in jail. They release them–30,000, if not more–every year. They put them right back on the street and it’s not right.
The black community–we’re tired of them citing civil rights because of people like Al Sharpton. They are being treated better than American citizens with our tax money.
I’m just tired. I lost my job. I was told I did not speak Spanish and I was terminated from my job. Even now it’s difficult to get a job. They told me I was fired for not being able to speak Spanish. I applied to McDonald’s and they told me that they don’t hire blacks–and it was a black owner. I filed with EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission). I have my documentation. I was denied a job….But they didn’t do anything. They are putting illegal immigrants before blacks. I applied for three jobs with the County of L.A. and they didn’t give me a job, and when I filed a complaint they called me a racist. I ended up homeless.
We have a rule of law. Why can’t they obey the law? Little do they know they are making us [Americans] closer. We are standing as Americans, as all races and colors. They want to throw out the race card. We are tired of being abused, and it’s got to stop.
Our politicians are giving them the power in the fight against us–the people using our tax money, writing these laws and using them against us….
Yes, black lives matter, but if we had jobs we wouldn’t be put in these situations to be attacked. A lot of parental rights have been restricted and are being taken away. There’s a lot in the black neighborhood that needs to be worked on. We need to get our house in order first and we need to get jobs back to get back on track.
We have no recourse. We are not being represented. Now we’re in the shadows, we are being buried in the shadows.

She's not the only one. LEGAL immigrants spoke - said there's a diffierence in legal/illegal

LOS ANGELES — Francisco Rivera is a legal immigrant who delivered an impassioned speech to the Huntington Park City Council on Monday night, joining other residents in protest against their decision to appoint two illegal aliens to city commissions.
Rivera, who is originally from Jalisco, Mexico, told Breitbart News that he is opposed to honoring those who have broken the laws of the country. “You shouldn’t get special treatment or get rewarded if you break federal laws by coming illegally,” he said in an interview.
I can honestly tell you guys, I’ve been here for 35 years, and I’ve looked at you straight in the eyes, every single meeting. I never even knew these guys existed ’til now! I’ve never seen them in my life! All of a sudden they’re gonna get rewarded by breaking federal laws, ladies and gentlemen?
And if I’m not mistaken, I ask myself–doesn’t the City of Huntington Park receive federal money? But yet, you break federal laws! Or, you reward people that break federal laws.
We are a country, yes. But in this country we have laws and rules and regulations that need to be followed. How can we become—how can we be a great nation when we reward people that come to this country illegally?
I don’t have anything against immigrants. But there’s a difference between “immigrant” and “illegal immigrant.”

Mark Levin did a whole show on birthright citizenship, - and made it very clear that
[ In Reply To ..]
birthright citizenship is not in the Constitution or protected under the Constitution for foreigners. He talked about the history of who has the right to citizenship as defined in the jurisdiction clause of the 14th amendment. Article 1,section 8. This is very specific and shows that this mess is a failure of Congress to act and nothing more.
It is very clear especially if you read the comments by the authors of the 14th amendment. They explicitly prohibit foreigners from such protection or benefit, including so called anchor babies.
You don't have to go through the courts.
What that amendment did - anonie
[ In Reply To ..]
If you read the history around why that was passed in the first place, it was to make citizens of Native Americans (taken over by all going west) and blacks who were forcibly brought here to be slaves.
It did not say that you can get automatic citizenship by coming here illegally. They specifically laid out the reasoning. I wish someone would tell me where I could find that. I just know that I believe this to be true. I am not sure even when this law was enacted, year, etc. or by whom
The 14th Amendment was passed by Congress in 1866 and ratified in 1868 - Truthhurts

Also, for the earlier poster, there is NO Section 8 in the 14th Amendment. What Levin is probably referring to is the "regular" Constitution, not the 14th Amendment.
"The Constitution authorizes the Congress to do create clarifying legislation in Section 5 of the 14th Amendment; the Constitution, in Article 1, Section 8, Clause 4, also allows the Congress to create law regarding naturalization, which includes citizenship."

So, I checked other sources besides Britbark who the OP cited.
Turns out these are 2 Dreamers who have lived exemplary lives in their communities, having volunteered thousands of hours with organizations such as the Red Cross. They live in a community where the majority is Hispanic and the "Jobs" are volunteer jobs with no pay.
To clarify, the Federal government does not provide any benefits to illegal immigrants except for EMERGENCY medical care (basically a good Samaritan law). The State of California does offer some benefits as far as health care, but illegal immigrants do not collect Social Security or qualify for welfare.

Doesn't matter if they lived exemplary lives. They're ILLEGAL - Truthhurts
[ In Reply To ..]
They are defined in law as "a foreigner who has entered or resides in a country UNLAWFULLY or without the country's authorization" and are criminals.
Also, illegal immigrants are deportable under Immigration and Nationality Act Section 237 (a)(1)(B) which says: "Any alien who is present in the United States in violation of this Act or any other law of the United States is deportable."
So, those illegal immigrants should be deported immediately. So should any illegal immigrant that are known to be here illegally. They are being handled with kid gloves and that's ridiculous. They shouldn't be sent to detention centers or flown all over the country to place them. They shouldn't be getting any education, healthcare, and should definitely not be getting jobs. e citizens of this country are not given such preferable treatment when they are detained.
This government needs to enforce the laws of this country. Deporting known illegals is the only way to start getting control of the problem. If they know they will be sent back immediately, they might think twice about paying coyotes and facing death to get here the first time.
They are only charged with a misdemeanor but if they come back, it's a felony. Why not make the first time they illegally come here be charged with a felony?

“They need to stop pretending like they are being mistreated. They have pushed and disturbed the community. They have 95% of the jobs and they still act like they are mistreated.”
This is a start. I think many blacks are liking Donald for this reason. We have fewer and fewer jobs and now have to compete with illegals, even for city council jobs!
Did her employer tell you that? - see message
[ In Reply To ..]
It seems to me she made either a lot of misstatements or perhaps the words were edited. Makes me wonder if she was truthful about the job loss.
By the way, many employers require bilingual employees--it is just part of the job requirement. Doesn't make sense to hire a Chinese speaking person for a Spanish interpreting job unless they are bilingual.
I think it is rather strange to be complaining about other people's UNPAID volunteer work.
I feel the same way she does. She's making a point - and making it well, and many

happen to agree with her. I'm sick of illegals being treated as "special." They broke the law and that's her point.
I'm sorry if you can't understand that.
Yes, I do not understand, please explain - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Please explain to me how illegals are treated as "special." (in real facts)
Sanctuary cities for starters. They are here ILLEGALLY - and can stay, that in and of itself
[ In Reply To ..]
is being treated as special. They get healthcare, and I know this for a fact because I work on a hospital in Los Angeles and doctors actually call them "undocumented immigrants" in their reports and refer them to agencies by name to get "free" services.
I've learned that trying to discuss this with liberals is like trying to debate a fur ball.
Read Ann Coulter's book Adios. It has plenty of info if you REALLY are interested.
Well, that is a certain city and a certain state - not the norm
[ In Reply To ..]
Apparently, the people living in these cities in this state find a good reason for this.
I do not see this here. There are crews of migrant workers in the area in the summer/fall for harvest. The area association of farmers who benefit from this service provides temporary housing and education and health service under contract to local providers of health care and educational services. The teachers who earn extra money in the summer and the health care providers love the extra income coming in. Our area does this because the farmer's association NEEDS the migrant workers to come in on a temporary basis for the harvest.
Interesting what would happen without these migrant workers.
And those farmers are breaking the law, too - Truthhurts
[ In Reply To ..]
and should be slapped with fines and threat of prison.
It's against the law to provide jobs to illegal aliens, so those farmers are no better than the illegals. Who pays the teachers to teach the kids in the summer? If it's the farmers, strike 2.
If they can't hire legal immigrants, there's something wrong with the farmers. If it's because they pay below minimum wages, they don't deserve to own a farm. They are criminals, too.
They (the farmers) are causing a lot of the problems in this country with illegal aliens and they need to be taken to task. I don't care what the stupid argument is as for why....there is NO EXCUSE for breaking the law.
Ever heard of guest worker visas? - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
However, I do agree that any employer who is caught employing illegal immigrants should be deported.
Well, let's see. American students could be hired, - nonviolent people in jail for

minor crimes or rehabs to name a few.
Sanctuary cities were set up to protect people who are going to be deported, not migrant workers.
I think this person is trying to bait you into an argument. - sm

Most of America knows the truth and that woman mentioned in the OP is representative of most of us. ILLEGAL aliens are NOT welcome here by the majority of America. Every other immigrant had to come here legally. Those south of the border have a leg up so to speak because they don't have a huge body of water preventing them from entering. They have taken advantage of the US and now have the gall to demand more. I love the South American culture and people, including Mexicans, but I will not support ILLEGAL aliens! My family came here LEGALLY and had to have sponsors, jobs, pass a physical exam, etc. Why should the ILLEGALS get special treatment? I, too, have transcribed numerous reports of "undocumented migrants." Some physicians even call them by their rightful description, "ILLEGAL ALIENS." It has to stop! Like "webesisters" say, I'll stump for Trump!
Baiting? would like real facts to show the truth - I guess it can't be done
