Yes! The same as you and I.
I've read the reports and the conflicting testimony from some of the prosecutor's witnesses were different. "Gomez" stated in one report that he was confronted was one of these two guys when a group of defense witnesses stated he was with them somewhere that night and no where near "Gomez" or his truck. Even their friends that turned against them because they were threatened to get the same consequences had some conflicting testimony.
What these kids did was wrong and they should get jail time, but life without the possibility of parole? Am I wrong to feel this way, especially since those adults who murder others usually get no more than 25 years and able to get parole? These were 18 and 19 year old kids.
SCRANTON, Pa. – A jury convicted two Pennsylvania men Thursday of a federal hate crime in the fatal beating of an illegal Mexican immigrant, finding they attacked the man primarily out of hatred for Hispanics.
An all-white jury in Scranton convicted Derrick Donchak and Brandon Piekarsky of violating the civil rights of 25-year-old Luis Ramirez, who died in July 2008 following a confrontation with a group of white high school football players in the former mining town of Shenandoah. The jury also convicted Donchak of two other counts related to a plot to cover up the beating.

Are you reading the links I'm posting? I didn't think so, so I will help you out. BTW, some of the witnesses for the prosecution were lying. That is fact and in the testimony in the first trial compared to the second trial.
"Six teens who got some booze after a town carnival type event were wandering around town. They came upon 25-year-old illegal alien Luis Ramirez in a park late at night, around 11:30PM, alone with a severely underage girl (13) who just happens to be the younger sister of Crystal Dillman. Dillman, who claims that Ramirez was her fiance and has two children with him and a third from a previous relationship, later received an undisclosed sum from People Magazine for a three page article and $25,000 from a victim's advocate fund. Testimony by Ramirez's friends say that he was drinking prior to going to the park. At the recent federal trial the 13-year-old girl was called Ramirez's "girlfriend" in court.
The teens approached him asking the girl why she was out so late and what they were doing there. A fight ensued and slurs were thrown from both sides as it progressed. One teen, Brian Scully, who took a plea deal in the case says he punched Ramirez and knocked him to the ground and said that he was the one yelling "go back to Mexico". Scully says he heard no racial slurs from Piekarsky. Another teen, Colin Walsh, who took a plea agreement and is facing 9 years, with hopes to have his sentenced reduced to 4 for cooperating, claims that he also punched Ramirez. The teens then started to leave. During the fight Ramirez got up and had time to make phone calls to multiple people. He could have walked away. The teens walked away at this point. Scully testified that Ramirez then charged them from behind punched him in the head. A second fight ensued. As it turns out, the phone calls were to his Hispanic friends but by the time they got there, the boys were gone.
Walsh testified "I took Ramirez down with a solid 'uppercut hook' and saw him hit his head". Ramirez hit his head on a curb.
The charges of murder arose because Ramirez died two days later due to head trauma. However, at trial Dr. Daniel Brown, a neuropathologist who had examined Ramirez's body on Aug. 1, 2008, testified:
"I observed a blood clot between his brain and a protective covering, and blood in an area usually containing spinal fluid. The left side of his brain had extensive contusions and swelling. Because of motion of the brain, an injury to the back of the brain caused an injury to the front. No evidence of trauma to the right side of his brain."
Deaths happen all the time because of fights when one falls and hits his head on a curb or pavement. Are they indicted for murder? In fact, this injury was not caused by a kick to the right side of the head by the one teen as stated by the prosecutor.
MALDEF, La Raza and LULAC all showed up and protested the first trial, which made tensions even worse between the population of the town. I was a bit upset myself because they were only found guilty of simple assault. It should at least have been manslaughter.
I have a problem with our government bending over backwards to radical groups. I also have a problem with illegal immigrants getting the same civil rights as citizens. If you don't see a problem with that, then open your eyes. Our government doesn't think twice of prosecuting citizens if an illegal immigrant is involved.
The picture below is okay to you?
Where does it end? Should the owner of this car be arrested for hate crimes? If the two teens were killed because of that message, do you think the government would have prosecuted the person who killed them as a hate crime?
Last year, 3 illegal Hispanics went into an all white bar and proceeded to take a baseball bat to the owner, bartender and a few patrons, all the while yelling "All whites will die tonight." The government was asked to prosecute and they refused. But that's okay with you because these guys were illegal, too?
Like Ii said, the kids should get prison but not life without the possibility of parole. That sentence is too harsh for something that started out as a fight and true murderers usually only get 25 to life with the ability to apply for parole after 7 years or so.
