Liberal signs inciting violence...go figure...hmmm

Posted: Apr 24, 2010

Lots of threatening posters below along with burning life size dolls of PRESIDENT Bush.
In recent weeks, the media have focused a lot of attention on anti-Obama signs showing up at town hall meetings and Tea Parties from coast to coast. Without a doubt, some of them cross the line of decency. However, the press's outrage is quite different than what happened when protesters carried offensive signs threatening former PRESIDENT George W. Bush. To refresh the memory of the conveniently amnesiac news media, Zombietime dug up a number of posters from demonstrations past which didn't garner the press's ire like those harped on in recent weeks.

This is very old stuff and doesn't say anything about liberals - If going by

[ In Reply To ..]
looks, the top one looks like a conservative. Libs and conservatives alike were protesting.

How does this NOT show liberal violence? - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Because these were protests done during Bush's administration, they don't mean anything? If a conservative person said that Obama should be smacked upside the head, you would call that person a racist who was full of hatred and violence. However, you get a liberal protesting against Bush and calling for his death or making a guillotine called a Bush Whacker...that isn't violent at all and should be totally forgotten about because Bush isn't pres anymore. Well...funny because liberals always bring up Bush in defense of Obama's outrageous spending but when it comes to liberals inciting violence....it was in the past and we should forget about it. Holy friggin crap people.

Totally agree with you!!!!! - mommymt

Giving libs the truth is like throwing water on the Wicked Witch of the West.

They'll either (a) grow out of it, (b) find faith in Jesus, or (c)live a miserable and angry existence until they die.

I am thankful every day that I don't suffer from liberalism.

idiot violence is neither right nor left - wake up

[ In Reply To ..]
Individuals doing ugly things has nothing to do with political discourse.

I don't want to see anybody burned in effigy or threatened. It has nothing to do with being left or right.

Pull your head out.
It seems that you are the one wearing - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
you rear as a hat. I merely posted this to show the left that when they say tea party people do nothing but incite violence by their protests that they need to take a good look at the left because they have shown to be violent as well. Did you hear me say in my post that only liberals are violent? No...you didn't. So don't assume that I don't see the violence on both sides....because I do. I was merely trying to prove a point to the left that they can do some pretty ugly things when they disagree with an administration as well. Obviously you missed my point.
Please read the post entitled We Did This Last Week. - Then cite specific INCIDENTS....
[ In Reply To ..]
as described in the last paragraph of that post, if you can that is.
First off...let me say this... - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I do not agree with violence from any group.

Now...once again, I can list liberal violence but every time I do, I hear about how that isn't worth a darn because it was on the past. Violence is violence, is it not? The point, which some of you refuse to get, is that both sides have been violent. There are loons on both sides. However, you cannot label an entire group of people based on some nut jobs.

The continued stereotyping of all tea party people. Not of them are racist. Not all of them are violent. Not all of them hate Obama. Just because they want smaller government and less government spending doesn't make the whole group a bunch of racist hatemongers.

So I will try this again...some examples:

March 4, 2010: John Patrick Bedell took out his 9 mm semi-automatic and shot 2 polic officers at a security checkpoint. Mr. Bedell was a registered Democrat with anti-war views.

June 2009: James Von Brunnwho was an "anti-Christian, 9/11 'truther' who hated the Bushes and 'the neo-cons'....opens fire at the Holocaust Museum.

Animal and environmental rights extremists have claimed credit for more than 1,200 criminal incidents since 1990. The FBI has 150 pending investigations associated with animal rights or eco-terrorist activities, and ATF officials say they have opened 58 investigations in the PAST SIX YEARS related to violence attributed to the ELF and ALF.

On January 20, 2006, as part of Operation Backfire, the U.S. Department of Justice announced charges against nine American and two Canadian activists calling themselves the "family," who are alleged to have engaged in direct action in the name of the ALF and ELF. The Department of Justice called the acts examples of "domestic terrorism." The incidents included arson attacks against meat-processing plants, lumber companies, a high-tension power line, and a ski center, in Oregon, Wyoming, Washington, California, and Colorado between 1996 and 2001.
John Patrick Bedell a registered democrat? - Think again....
[ In Reply To ..]
I remember all the GOPs rush to distance themselves from this guy when the incident happened. Here is a link to a video Bedell posted shortly before he died. In it he obsesses over securing private property by any means possible, calls for the reduction of government spending and its roll in society. He specifically expresses deep disdain for communism and socialism and for his perceptions that the powerful masters of the government confiscate private property, lie, deceive, manipulate public opinion, purposefully create conflict, control the financial and educational systems, subvert individuals morality, usurp freedom, concoct wicked schemes and conspire to take over the world. He expresses a great deal of admiration for capitalist principles.

Pardon me for saying, but considering these statements were more than a year after Obama's election, they sound an awful lot like tpot ramblings to me. In fact, I do not know a single democrat or lib, that thinks like this.
http://www.mediaite.com/online/john-patrick-bedell-identified-as-pentagon-shooter-well-dressed-well-educated-well-armed/

Registered democrat? Where's the proof? Because Michelle Malkin says so? I have never seen a voter's registration that uses SCREAMING CAPITALS for all its headings, with tiny upper and lower case entries following the titles, have you?

Here is the bogus form Malkin provided as proof:

PrefixTitle MR
LASTNAME,FIRSTNAME,MIDDLENAME Bedell,John,Patrick
SOURCEIDVOTER 30048
DATEOFBIRTH 5/20/1973
PLACEOFBIRTH CA
REGDATE 20051006

STATEHOUSE 28
STATESENATE 12
USCONGRESS 17
LASTDATEVOTED 20051108

According to calvoter.org (see link below), in California: Fields that appear on voter registration forms that are not redacted from voter lists at all include (ONLY) name, address, gender, party affiliation and race. Notice how this bogus form ALSO lists date of birth, place of birth, registration date, active code, status, state and congressional districts and date last voted, info that California does not release to its statutorily permitted and non-restircted users, even though it may appear on the voter registration cards. This would suggest that she kinda sort made it up as she went along, going by the format that appears on the the wallet card sent directly to the voter.

http://www.calvoter.org/issues/votprivacy/pub/voterprivacy/findings.html#d

Malkin claims to have used www.Electorates.us to conduct her search. There is no voter list search on that website. When you place this in the address bar, www.e-Merges.com pops up instead. There is some fine print down at the bottom that states, "Registered voters lists are only released to statutorily permitted or non-restricted applicants. They sell the 185 million record voter file for a mere $89,500, or if you just want a single district list, you pay the bargain basement price of just $750. You think Michelle Malkin, wingnut incarnate, would fall into one of those two categories? Also, you seriously think she would pay that kind of money for the info? Really?

One blog poster thanked Anne Horrigan for allowing Michelle Malkin access to the list, falsely claiming that voter lists are "available to any reporter or journalist." Here's what I found when I searched Anne Horrigan. Notice the profile text.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but this would tend to debunk that claim that spread like wildfire all over the internet when the pubs were trying to run as fast and as far away from Bedell as they could. Fact is that no one has been able to definitively establish where he was coming from or why he did it, but his own words have a vaguely familiar ring to them, don't they?
Ahem. Von Brunn was a white supremacist neonazi who - often posted on FreeRepublic.
[ In Reply To ..]
The only sources I can find about the the truther, anti-Bush, anti-neocon claims are from the fringiest of the wingnut blogosphere, so would you mind posting your links to this info? CNN, however, did report tha von Brunn was a birther.

Question: Just how many white supremacist neonazi birthers who frequently post on FreeRepublic do you know who are democrats?
If I were you, I'd do my homework on white supremacist - and natzi party.....SM
[ In Reply To ..]
So many on here spew anything and everything you've ever heard about white supremacist hate groups as if blacks don't have their share of black supremacist hate groups. Why don't you ever bring those into your posts? Maybe you should also do your homework on how black supremacist HATE groups are in bed with the Natzi Party and have been for a long time....what do they have in common. Well, for one thing, they both hate jewish people just for starters, which is pathetic in and of itself, but for you to make statements with a broad sweep as if racism doesn't work both ways is much too much.

As a lib, I DENOUNCE the tactics used by ecoterrorists - on many levels....
[ In Reply To ..]
They have undermined and done much damage to the very causes they profess to hold so dear. Though I support the issues on which they focus, I abhor their tactics and hope that the ongoing investigations result in formal charges, guilty findings where appropriate and sentences that punish to the fullest extent allowed under the law.

Okay, now...out of the 3 examples you have provided, only one holds water. Sorry, but this is not all that convincing for your argument.
Please try to follow - wake up

The title of your post is:
"How does this NOT show liberal violence."

You are very attached to this notion of "right" or "left" violence.

Again: There is no liberal violence or conservative violence. There is only idiot violence.

Inciting or depicting violence is about hate, NOT politics. It's just idiots acting out, left or right.
I get your point. Wish you could get mine. - sm

This is in response to the constant post by liberals on the board who state that the tea party movement is all about violence and racism...which is not true. I get the violence comes from all sides of ignorance here. I get your point. Seriously....try and understand mine.

[ In Reply To ..]
I did NOT say that violence is strictly liberal based. I'm smart enough to know it is on both sides. I'm not on one side or the other pointing fingers without looking at my own side. I was merely trying to make a point to some out here who have been constantly calling the right violent, racist, etc. I merely wanted to point out to those people that their own side has been known to "incite violence" as well.
Okay, one more time....you said those pictures are liberal - there is NO indication
[ In Reply To ..]
that all of them are. Plenty of conservatives hated Bush too.
And there are plenty of liberals... - nnn
[ In Reply To ..]
who find Obama to be incompetent and doing his best to bring the country to its knees and yet...... that fact is sadly dismissed as false by liberals. You are correct in that liberals and conservatives alike can be violent as there are many different mind sets in each party. That being said, to say that ALL liberals love Obama would be false and that is what most liberals deny, deny, deny.
Where do you come up with this stuff? - Where is a reference
[ In Reply To ..]
that says what you said? I've never seen one. I would be interested to see an article or something. Thanks

We did this one last week. - You just dont get it, do you?

There is a difference between carrying nonlethal signs during a protest for a couple hours, then going home and the tpot incidents that have been dominating the news over the past month or so. Stalking and harassing democratically elected officials with relentless emails and phone calls, brick-throwing, cutting gas lines feeding into a family home with children, posting phone numbers and addresses on websites with specific calls for thugs to threaten, stalk and harass, FBI investigations, DHS reports, arrests, charges, pending court dates, etc, etc, etc.

Now, try to cite some comparable incidents such as these perpetrated by libs in the last 30 years or so. Please place specific focus on organized movements promoting violence by liberals. Also, give us some examples of Bush protestor violence, particulary leveled against public officials, that was not first instigated by the police. Go ahead. Give it your best shot.

Perhaps one of the most distubing elements of this story is that tpots don't seem to be able to distingish the difference, as is evidence by your question. That's why realtime tpot propoensity toward violence is getting all that scrutiny in the media.

from The Chronicle of Higher Education September 2008

Education Level Linked to Party Affiliation, Poll Suggests

Once upon a time, political scientists could look at a voter’s income and history of church attendance and predict how he or she would vote in a presidential election. Working-class voters, the conventional wisdom went (and polls confirmed) tended to vote Democratic, while churchgoers trended Republican.

No longer. In the 2008 presidential election, the biggest predictor of party affiliation may be education, argues Alan Wolfe in an opinion piece in The New Republic.

As evidence, Mr. Wolfe points to a new poll by Washington Post/ABC News that found that white people without a college degree favor John McCain, the Republican candidate, by 17 percentage points, while those with a college degree prefer Barack Obama, the Democratic candidate, by 9 percentage points.

That split could have broad implications for higher-education policy, Mr. Wolfe argues. “A divide such as this suggests that Democrats will continue to expand access to higher education while Republicans will oppose it,” he said.

At the same time, a McCain win could mean renewed scrutiny of colleges’ finances, he argues: “Expect, if the Republicans win, greater efforts by people such as (Sen.) Charles Grassley, Republican of Iowa, to regulate the endowments of the most selective colleges and universities.”

They don't like dem FACTS! LOL!!! - the truth is ugly! nm

Well, Republicans are different from Democrats. How so? Let us count the ways.

â– They have more money.2
â– They have more friends.3
â– They are more religious.4
â– They are healthier.5
â– They are more likely to be married.6
â– They like their communities better.7
â– They like their jobs more.8
â– They are more satisfied with their family life.9
â– They like the weather better.10
â– They have fewer financial worries.11
â– They're more likely to see themselves doing better in life than their parents did.12
â– They're more likely to feel that individuals - rather than outside forces - control their own success or failure.13
â– They have more of what they most value in life. (No, it's not money).14
