Messages to our Presidential Candidates

Posted: Feb 14, 2016

I believe every single American medical transcriptionist should contact all candidates running for president and inform them of our plight (competing with India for our jobs) as well as the fact that the majority of the American population is probably not aware that their personal and medical information could potentially be sent to India. Some of the candidates have talked about bringing jobs back to America, but none has mentioned this issue. Let's inform them. I have provided an alphabetical list of each candidate's contact link. However, I could not find an actual contact link for Bernie Sanders. Perhaps someone out there knows of a different website. Bush: https://jeb2016.com/contact Carson: https://www.bencarson.com/contact Clinton: https://forms.hillaryclinton.com/contact Cruz: https://www.tedcruz.org/contact Kasich: https://johnkasich.com/contact Rubio: https://marcorubio.com/contact Sanders: https://berniesanders.com Trump: https://www.donaldjtrump.com/contact ;

Excellent idea. Thanks for posting this information. - Olga

unionize when we had the chance. It is too late now. That, ans if HIPAA had been written with a cause saying all records needed to be process in the US, things might be different. Organization is everything.

Ok, then do nothing. - It's your choice.

My candidate is for unions to protect workers. Unions...sm - VTMT

have wrongly been given a bad rap because of the days when they were infiltrated by organized crime. The 1% have been overjoyed to perpetuate the idea that unions are bad, bad, bad. There is strength in numbers, but sometimes fear overtakes us and blocks our progress forward. Another stumbling block is identifying MTs in order to organize. Even on this board attempts were shot down. Even conversations about organizing were met with attacks.
Most MTs are not eligible to organize because they're - ICs.
[ In Reply To ..]
Short of the IRS declaring that these people have been misclassified, what would FORCE an MTSO to convert IC's to employee status?

That's what you'd have to do BEFORE you can start talking about unions. Only employees can organize - not ICs.
Not true. - nm

We need Education that does not indebt you into your retirement years. The Republicans obviously like to keep people poor by forcing them to compete for low wage jobs with other countries and making it more and more difficult to retrain.

I've written to every state senator and representative in the past that I could think of--many times. Even sent emails to the white house and NOTHING happened. I even commented on an article online and a reporter contacted me and said he was interested. Never heard another word from him.

Aren't The Republican Presidential Candidates Supposed To Be Holding A Debate Tonight?May 05, 2011
I thought I heard that the Republican Presidential candidates were supposed to hold an important debate tonight. Does anybody know when? Where? Who is going to participate and who isn't?  Also, is there anything that you particularly want to hear from any or all of them? ...

Messages On The Political BoardMar 27, 2012
Reading through the posts I would like to ask everyone again to please stick to issues and discuss politics and leave out the name calling and insulting.  The posts are getting personal again.  People can get into heated discussions.  That is understandable, but would like to remind everyone this board is for discussing politics, not insulting other posters.  If there is a post that has nothing to do with the topic being discussed, but is just to inflame other posters those ...

Please Keep Messages To Discussions Of Political Issues Apr 08, 2013
Many posts are going off track.  This is a political site.  It is to discuss politics.  It is not a site to share your hobbies whether it be scrapbooking or gardening or whatever other hobbies you enjoy.  That is why there is a Gab Board.  If you want to talk about your hobbies that is the place to discuss them. Sometimes ridiculing posters and trying to make fun of their concerns is not the best thing to do by telling them they need to take up a hobby like scrap bookin ...

What Do You Think About Presidential Age?Aug 12, 2012
I don't intend this to be either for or against Republicans or Democrats.  I just started thinking about this question when I found out that Paul Ryan is 41 (42?) years old.   Now, I'm not "ancient" at 56 years old; but when I think about the fact that our country requires that a president only be, what?, 35 years of age, I start to wonder if that's old enough!  (LOL) I can't help but wonder how I would feel if, some day, a presidential ticket included a pres ...

In Regards To The Upcoming Presidential ElectionsJul 23, 2012
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1). For there are many rebellious people, mere talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision group. (Titus 1:10). and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. (2 Peter 2:3). Leave them; they are blind guides. If a blind man leads a ...

Disputed Presidential Elections Are Nearly As Old AsOct 21, 2016
All of this artificial umbrage just because Trump reserves the right to take a look at the election results before saying whether they should be accepted. "Hrumph! And double-hrumph!! By God, the man's unpatriotic! Suggesting that our elections might be rigged! He's insulting democracy!" "Hell - he's deflowering Lady Liberty herself, right in front of the assembled student body!" My Run Down Of The GOP CandidatesAug 20, 2011
After doing much research, I'm leaning towards Santorum.  Perry and Romney are nothing but democrats in disguise. As much as I like Bachmann, I just don't think a conservative woman has a chance. As much as I like Herman Cain, his lack of experience scares me. I'm on the fence about Ron Paul.  I like the way he stands on a lot of issues, but he stills come across to me as a little nutty and I don't know if he just doesn't present himself well or what. Any ...

Which Candidates Do You Like?Mar 01, 2014
It seems most threads begin with something or someone people don't like - I'm more interested in what/who you do like? :) I don't know of anyone on the horizon that would fit the bill, but I'd like to see someone who isn't a party puppet - someone that isn't afraid to step outside of party lines to put the country first, rather than party politics - but they'd lose financial support if they did. And let's not forget all those lobbyists' money they ...

Impression Of This Board And The Presidential Campaign Sep 13, 2012
When I look at this board, most of what I see is the bashing of President Obama and some very good counter-bashing exposing the latest viral e-mail distortions.  I rarely, if ever, see any posts highlighting the positives of Romney and Ryan.  Is it because there are no positives for Romney and Ryan?  I guess not.  ...

Rich CandidatesFeb 02, 2012
I'm wondering why the talk is suddenly anti-Romney because he's rich?  If my info is correct, John Kerry and Teresa Heinz Kerry had a net worth of about $750 million when he ran for president (along with 5 or 6 very luxurious homes) but it didn't make him look like a bad guy - just a rich guy.   In other words, at what point did it become a bad thing to be a rich presidental candidate?  Personally, I don't care how much money the candidate has.  I' ...

The Two Candidates And Their Agendas. Oct 30, 2012
The No Agenda Myth There are plenty of legitimate reasons voters (and the media) should be disenchanted by the  campaigns, but the idea that we’ll be voting in the dark is not one of them. Yes, the candidates have been reluctant to publish some unpleasant details of their policies. Most presidential candidates in modern times don’t, for the understandable reason that details can be cherry-picked for attack ads. Yes, identifying Romney’s plan requires some gue ...

Candidates' Deficit Plans Don't Add UpOct 01, 2012
As the government closes the books Sunday with a $1.1 trillion deficit for the year, which required borrowing 32 cents for every dollar it spent, budget analysts have little confidence in either presidential candidate's plan to address the accumulating debt, now at about $16 trillion. The Republican nominee promises to balance the budget in eight years to 10 years, but he also offers a mix of budgetary contradictions: higher Pentagon spending, restoring cuts that Democrats made in Medicare ...
