Impression of this Board and the presidential campaign

Posted: Sep 13, 2012

When I look at this board, most of what I see is the bashing of President Obama and some very good counter-bashing exposing the latest viral e-mail distortions.  I rarely, if ever, see any posts highlighting the positives of Romney and Ryan.

Is it because there are no positives for Romney and Ryan?  I guess not.

;

I think honest reading about Romney's 4 years as - a governor are as illuminating, and almost as

positive, as his foreign affairs buffoonery is dismaying.

Judging by his behavior, not his words, particularly from the past when he wasn't running for the presidency, I'm reading him as:

A moderate conservative economically (which includes healthcare issues), with a modest but real record of success over 1 term as governor in Massachusetts and, unfortunately, a secret agenda for the future as President. (That bag he's clutching to his chest.)

A strong religious conservative socially, with, aside from positions on gay marriage and abortion, an undisclosed agenda for the future.

A strong conservative in foreign affairs, with what one could only hope was a secret agenda--as opposed to the cluelessness he's been displaying here and abroad. (He'd take Israel's advice on how to deal with the Middle East? Russia is our biggest foreign threat?--Google Colin Powell's thoughts on that one and on Romney's very conservative Neocon advisors.)

Someone who really wants to be President and is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve that. Romney supporters, on the plus side, if he loses I expect we'll see him again in 2016. After all, he'll only be 69, basically the same as Hillary. :)

Addendum: Media folk are noting that his comments on this situation did not condemn the despicable, bigoted film about Islam and wondering what it means. Is it nothing really, just a pol avoiding offending a certain portion of his base, or everything? I want to give him the benefit on this as so much other but worry that that would be a mistake. This man may be our next president.

bashing - I know

It is frustrating wading through all the bashing on here, but there are also a lot of thoughtful nonbiased insights, and if you can manage to wade through all the garbage, there are many excellent posts. Good luck!

Now that I think of it, I never see anything good about Obama. - Wonder why.

What Do You Think About Presidential Age?Aug 12, 2012
I don't intend this to be either for or against Republicans or Democrats.  I just started thinking about this question when I found out that Paul Ryan is 41 (42?) years old.   Now, I'm not "ancient" at 56 years old; but when I think about the fact that our country requires that a president only be, what?, 35 years of age, I start to wonder if that's old enough!  (LOL) I can't help but wonder how I would feel if, some day, a presidential ticket included a pres ...

In Regards To The Upcoming Presidential ElectionsJul 23, 2012
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1). For there are many rebellious people, mere talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision group. (Titus 1:10). and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. (2 Peter 2:3). Leave them; they are blind guides. If a blind man leads a ...

All of this artificial umbrage just because Trump reserves the right to take a look at the election results before saying whether they should be accepted. "Hrumph! And double-hrumph!! Messages To Our Presidential CandidatesFeb 14, 2016
I believe every single American medical transcriptionist should contact all candidates running for president and inform them of our plight (competing with India for our jobs) as well as the fact that the majority of the American population is probably not aware that their personal and medical information could potentially be sent to India. Some of the candidates have talked about bringing jobs back to America, but none has mentioned this issue. Let's inform them. I have provided an alpha ...
