The timing of the move – on the very day Russia entered the conflict yesterday – will likely raise suspicions the Russian President is planning a wider offensive to prop up his Syrian counterpart.

It also comes after one of Putin’s staunchest allies called on him to send in Muslim ground troops to defeat the Islamic State and other Islamist extremist groups in the war-torn country.

Egypt backs this Russian strike too. Putin is getting a - significant coalition. Looks like

lived through the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962, where we literally didn't know from day to day whether or not our entire towns would be vaporized by the Russians, eventually learned how to cope with uncertainty. Let's face it - nothing in this world is a given. Worrying constantly about what might happen doesn't do anything except ruin a person's health, both physically and emotionally.

Whenever things start to get too scary, the best way to put things into perspective is to look at the odds. Most of us civilians are far more likely to be struck by lightning, killed by a tornado or a drunk driver, or die of cancer or flu complications - than we are to die in a war, which is something we have even less control of than the former. Rather than worry myself to death about it, I choose to stay indoors during thunderstorms, not live in Tornado Alley, drive defensively, get a flu shot, and do the best I can to make my own community a better place to live. That's all anyone can do, and finger-pointing at politicians or other countries doesn't change anything.

Well, I already have breast cancer, IN BOTH BREASTS - So, none of this will phase me.

doesn't control the world. (It can hardly control itself.) There aren't any crystal balls involved, here. All our country can do is its best, and hope it's right. But no matter what we do, if we don't start to rebuild the strength of our nation's middle class, which ultimately builds the strength of the nation as a whole, then we can't really be too surprised if someday we get invaded. Or at the very least, taken to the cleaners financially.
