Kucinich dem on dem digs scare off both sides.

Posted: Jan 24, 2010

The largely ignored article below is worth a second pass.  Conservatives missed the opportunity to agree with critical points Kucinich made while taking his party to task.  Could it be his disarming way of taking all the hot air bluster out of claims that democrats never admit their mistakes or maybe it’s because they can’t admit that a progressive liberal can actually make good sense?  He is supporting allegations you guys have been driving home for months now on this board while chastising the recent democrat plan to regroup.   Why all the silence?

Stepping up to the plate to recalibrate is not fatal.   Where has the hushed crowd of frustrated democrats run off to now?  Where’s the backbone you are begging your reps to find?  Hypocrisy and hubris are not an attractive strategy tools.  Remember?

is terrible. I wouldn't vote for it either. This is not change! Change was supposed to be a government option so that no one would be uninsured, kind of like extending Medicaid and having people insured based on their ability to pay. Not allowing people to be excluded based on pre-existing conditions is still in there. Big deal! What good is that if there are no limitations on what they can charge for that coverage? Sure I will insure you, for $25,000 a year thank you very much, ching ching! This whole mess is a terrible joke and we need to scrap it and start over. We cannot allow special interests and big money to continue to control EVERYTHING like they do now. I respect Dennis for his integrity and for standing up and saying it like he sees it.

The thing is already shredded. They need to go with the flow - and

start picking up and stacking the pieces into a series of separate bills, passing the least contentious and healthcare-friendly among them first. The regulation and financing measures embedded in healthcare reform can be reworked and carried over into the upcoming financial reform debates.

Obama needs to turn off his alarm and start speeching and stumping for what he wants by spending more time outside the beltway resurrecting the support that has been beaten back by concessions. As he lifts the fog that surrounds those measures, they can be reintroduced into new bills and prioritized in line with public opinion. This will also get him back in touch with the direction Main Street wants him to take.

There is still enough time before November to turn this around in ways that do not undermine upcoming election outcomes but admittedly, as Kucinich points out, financial and JOBS initiatives need to move quickly to turn baby steps into giant strides toward economic recovery.

Two party system wastes Kucinich talent - Dennis the Menace always ahead of the curve

Moderator of and foil for moderate middlemen, diminutive in stature yet gifted with fire in the belly oratory skill, Kucinich pleads a powerful case for progressive wing members the party cannot afford to ignore. Anyone fortunate enough to have seen him speak cannot help but be moved by his passion and substance. The solutions he proposes not only are deeply insightful but also firmly grounded in the reality of our times.

His bright eyed impish charisma, soothing sense of inner peace and strength, confidence and transformative ideologies portray pot-stirring, business as usual busting, populist appeal. This will be the driving force empowering candidates in 2010 and 2012 to either suspend the country in failed dogma and creeds or usher in a new age of middle class prosperity and kinder, gentler, principled democracy. Forward or backward magnetize his down or up, not left or right metaphoric compass. These are the questions voters will be asking then and politicians should be answering now.

In the name of so-called national security, he says he will redeploy abusive police force to the streets, rely on the loyalty of army which clearly has no intent of firing on its own people, and that he intends to die in Egypt after serving out his term. In the meantime, the Egyptians have set Friday as a deadline for him to leave the country. Your thoughts on this -- watch the whole thing before making your comments. Watch it more than once to understand the whole argument. Don't just watch pieces. I felt it was a balanced discussion on his show.  It seems like Cory Booker knows and understands what most gun owners know and the word is CRIMINALS. Sam Harris seems to be on the line, for but also against gun control. I think Sam Harris has no idea of how many guns are in this country. He said 300 million but there are ...
