Former Guantanamo Detainee Implicated In Benghazi Attack
Article is on the Washington Post via the Huffington Post. I give up. This is not defendable. The perp was allegedly released from Gitmo on the president's watch.;
Well, I guess it's good that Gitmo isn't entirely closed. - NPC

Sometimes I wonder if this administration ever learned about recidivism. Makes me sick!
Good catch on the dates. - NPC

For some reason, I have a mental block about dates. That said, I hope the detainees stay where they are.
I suppose that depends - NK

on which president you're referring to. I actually read the entire article instead of just the headline, and the detainee in question was released in 2007 and sent to Libya, where he was detained until 2008 when Libya released him. Whoops.
Whoops. Does that mean Dem Debi will be staying with the Dems? - I don't think so.
[ In Reply To ..]
I don't think she was a Dem in the first place.
Would you like to see my voting card? :-) - Dem Debi

I'm seriously considering switching sides because I think the Dems are negative and offensive. The race card is being played too much. I am ashamed of what MSNBC now represents and how they go after conservatives with venom in their voices and daggers in their eyes. I could go on and on. There have been some moderate or conservative issues on which I have voted in the past, so I'm probably considered a conservative liberal. Maybe I'll just become independent. Am I waffling? Yes, I am...because of the above reasons and many more.
Are you as bothered by Fox as you are by MSNBC? - B/c its 2 sides of the same coin.

Personally, I think all those pundits (on both sides) are a bunch of buffoons that stir contention to get ratings. Just decide how you feel based on the issues and not the type of media you are listening to. They don't matter and they shouldn't have that much power anyway.
But really, there are negative and offensive people on both sides. That's just the way it is.
I've recently found FOX to be a bit more balanced. - Dem Debi
[ In Reply To ..]
Not all programs are balanced, but the ones I've seen are, including Cavuto, Megan Kelly and Bill O'Reilly. I think Hannity is way over the top. I also like Greta. I was sort of turning away from MSNBC and turning to FOX when I realized they weren't so bad and actually rather fair.
Addendum to above... - Dem Debi

One person I find extremely intriguing is Charles Krauthammer, a FOX news contributor. I was initially intrigued because he used to be a Democrat and a speech writer for Mondale. He was torn between voting for Mondale and Reagan and was not disappointed when Reagan won. I actually find him quite fascinating.

If you haven't already, you should try to view the Fox news video about Charles called "A Life That Matters." I hope the link works - if not just google it. When Charles talks we listen - He is one amazing person and I'm glad you found him....

Yes, I saw that show, Charlene. He is one amazing individual. I love it that people listen to him.
For the dislike - Charlene

For the person who disliked my post about Charles Krauthammer, please watch the video first - it is about his life and he is someone that we all should admire, whether we lean liberal or conservative.
I have a dislike, too. - Debi

It's got to be from someone who just cannot ever appreciate hearing an opposing word. That's a sad shame. We always need a balance. And Charles Krauthammer is a man for the ages with many, many lessons to teach.
Anything to say - NK

about your original post in which you were so quick to blame President Obama, apparently without a balanced or independent viewpoint after reading the article? BTW, a "conservative liberal" is rather an oxymoron.
Nope, nothing to say. It looks like NPC said it for me. - Oxymoron?
[ In Reply To ..]
LOL. You are certainly entitled to your opinion and may call me names if you'd like.
Conservative liberal is not an oxymoron. - NPC
[ In Reply To ..]
So as not to offend your party, I'll put it this way. There are radical conservatives who would never be classified as liberal conservatives. There is such a thing as a centrist or a liberal conservative or a conservative liberal or a moderate whatever. I have not always voted along party lines 100%. I believe in some democratic party ideas and have voted for some democrats in my time. So, in my opinion, to say "conservative liberal" is an oxymoron is not accurate.
It's Bush's fault... - sm

...but Obama should not be releasing any others!
I answered my own post. - NPC

I meant to answer yours, NK. I think I need to go back to bed and start over for the day. Good catch on the dates. However, I do hope that the detainees stay where they are.

Keeping An Eye On O'Malley And Switching To DemocratApr 01, 2015What I'm reading about O'Malley I'm liking. He does not have the appearance of being democrat and I like that. His knowledge about the constitution and other issues I believe puts him in the middle. I believe he truly wants to save our country from the destruction we have seen it under. Of course there is more to learn about him, but right now I think he is the best hope to save our country.

Trying To Look At Both Sides (WI Protests)Feb 19, 2011Okay...so here is my thing. I don't like unions. I think that unions have used and abused union workers all the while saying they are there to protect them. Union bosses have made outlandish salaries and are as crooked as the greedy CEOs who also make outlandish salaries.
I understand that union workers in WI are ticked. No one wants to lose money...just ask anyone in the private sector who has taken a pay cut or lost their jobs entirely. It sucks and it isn ...

I Actually Agree And Disagree With Both SidesJul 16, 2011I do believe that we need to bring in more tax revenue. I agree with the pres on that one. However, I don't believe raising the taxes on the rich is the answer. That alone still will not cover the amount of money we are spending. I also think that the initial step in bringing in more tax revenue is to close loopholes in the tax code. We are in major need of tax reform here. What good is taxing the rich more when you have big companies like GE not paying A ...

Kucinich Dem On Dem Digs Scare Off Both Sides.Jan 24, 2010The largely ignored article below is worth a second pass. Conservatives missed the opportunity to agree with critical points Kucinich made while taking his party to task. He is supporting allegations you guys have been driving home for months now on this ...

US, Iran Support For Dueling Sides In Yemen Raises Prospect Of Proxy FightApr 08, 2015Intervention by the U.S. and Iran in Yemen is raising the prospect of a proxy war even as the Obama administration tries to reach a nuclear deal with the Islamic Republic – with Iran sending two ships to waters near Yemen, as the U.S. speeds up military aid to the Saudi-led coalition striking Tehran-backed rebels there.
