Father, author, and conservative talk-radio host Kevin Jackson, while in Ferguson, Mo., on Wednesday, said that Geroge Stephanopoulos' ABC News interview of police officer Darren Wilson was “terrible journalism,” and added that “race relations have gone in the toilet since Obama took over,” aided by the actions of Attorney General Eric Holder “and his minions.”
In a Nov. 26 interview with WMAL-Washington’s “Mornings on the Mall” with hosts Brian Wilson and Larry O’Connor, they played a clip of Dr. Ben Carson saying that race relations have grown worse under Obama and asked Jackson to comment.
In the clip, Dr. Carson says, "I actually believe that things were better before this president was elected. And I think that things have gotten worse because of his unusual emphasis [on race].”
WMAL’s Larry O’Connor then asked Kevin Jackson, “How are things looking in St. Louis, and I’d love for you to respond to what you just heard.”
Jackson, who hosts the Black Sphere Radio Program carried by Salem Communications, said, “With respect to Dr. Carson – I think that was Dr. Ben Carson, right? – he’s not telling us anything we don’t know there.”
“Everybody knows that race relations have gone in the toilet since Obama took over,” said Jackson. “In fact, when he did his first press conference over the Ferguson deal, he was talking about how race relations have come a long way. Yes, they had come a long way until he and Holder and the rest of his minions came along.”
Jackson then said, “What I want to talk about is a clip you played about Stephanopoulos asking that cop [Darren Wilson] the question. That’s the problem with liberals in America, Larry, is that that question doesn’t even need to come up.”
WMAL’s Larry O’Connor then said, “Listen to how he asked it. I want to play it again, Kevin.”
ABC’s George Stephanopoulos to Officer Wilson: “And you’re absolutely convinced, when you look through your heart and your mind that if Michael Brown were white, this would have gone down in exactly the same way?”
O’Connor said, “That tone – he sounded so incredulous to him.”
Jackson, author of the best seller The BIG Black Lie, said, “It is. That’s exactly the point. He – it’s hard for him [Stephanopoulos] to believe that you’re not looking through the optics of black and white on this? No. Stephanopoulos, I’m looking at this through the optics of life and death.”
“To me, in terms of journalism, it’s terrible journalism,” said Jackson. “It’s terrible because all the onus is now on the cop as to what is your motivation. What is his motivation? How about just getting home to his family? That’s his motivation.”
Jackson continued, “How about the idea that this thug [Michael Brown] walked into that store, did that [robbery], came out and attacked me [Officer Wilson], and you want to question me? And all of the evidence points to this.”
Michael Brown was fatally shot on Aug. 9 by police officer Darren Wilson in a highly controversial and racially-tinged case that led to riots in Ferguson. When the grand jury decided on Nov. 24 not to indict Officer Wilson, more riots and looting ensued and were ongoing as this story was posted.
I totally agree with this article. This country is more racially and politically divided than ever ... thanks to Obama and Holder along with their sidekicks, Sharpton and Jackson.
