Congress is trying to pass a pretty decent bill, referred to as the cybersecurity bill, which basically covers issues related to national security.  I haven't read the bill yet, but so far it sounds good to me and seems to have a good bit of support.

So what does

So what does true blue Mitch do? He wants to add an amendment to repeal Obamacare...again. Woohoo Mitch! Within a span of two weeks you have shown your party is more interested in making Obama a one-term president than healthcare, American jobs, and national security. What more could a voter ask for?

This on the heels of a slew of ACA women's health benefits - set to take effect August 1.

NEW YORK, July 31, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Aug. 1 marks an important milestone for the Affordable Care Act and, more importantly, for women across the U.S. New insurance plans will be required to cover eight critical women's preventive health services with no co-pay. Specifically, the no-co-pay benefits include:

Screening for gestational diabetes
Breastfeeding supplies and counseling
Intimate partner violence screening and counseling
Sexually transmitted infection counseling
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) DNA testing for women 30 years and older
HIV screening and counseling
Well-woman visits
FDA-approved contraception methods and contraceptive counseling
"For many women, costly co-pays stand in the way of essential health care services and contraception," said Ms. Foundation for Women President and CEO Anika Rahman. "Removing that barrier not only ensures better health outcomes, but also reduces the economic hardship on women and families."

I was in awe of Senator Harkin's touching tribute to his sisters - and

to the PPACA which he felt could have prevented their untimely deaths from breast cancer had free screening been available to them at the time.

A Sign Of The Times Here InNov 02, 2010
I was watching the news at the gym yesterday and our Voter registrar said that by that time, there was 100,000 more voters registered to vote than 4 years ago.  Today at 3:00 this is what we have achieved: Nearly 100,000 people have voted so far Officials at the State Elections Office are reporting that as of 3 pm Tuesday, about 100,000 Clark County residents have cast their votes at local polling stations. This is in addition to the over 258,000 county residents who cast ballots during th ...

MTs Going Through Hard TimesAug 25, 2010
Sometimes, when I read posts about MTs going through hard times (many of us these days), I think about inviting one of them to stay in my home for perhaps a year in order to get a little ahead.  I live alone in a rural area and have a lovely home.  There's not much to do here, but it's pleasant enough, and the cost of living is reasonable.  I've been through a few rough patches myself, but I'm with a pretty stable company now and am enjoying my work.  I ...
