They are there to serve New Yorkers and reduce their fears, not the other way around. Their decision to dishonor the fallen officers and their grieving families with this appalling display of disrespect clearly conveys a sense of entitlement and belief that they hold themselves above the laws they are charged with enforcing upon the rest of us.

2. You are right about one thing. Not a single WB Baptist protester wore an NYPD dress uniform to the military and civilian funerals where all those devout Christians put their raw prejudice on full display. Perhaps someone somewhere thinks that is an appropriate image for New York's finest to project. I am not one of them.
