Has anyone yet found any proof that the Obama ring story is not true?

Either it was not researched fully or truths conveniently left out. I'm not questioning any sources here, I'm just pointing out facts that were left out (whether intentional or not we don't know). I don't really care what snopes has to say. If you are liberal you like them. If you are republican/independent you want to always keep researching. Everyone has different reasons for wanting to use whatever sources they like, nothing wrong with that, so not criticizing any sources, I'm just bringing to light some information you left out. I myself prefer to keep searching and cross referencing until I am satisfied that what I have found can be verified, but I also know that not a lot of people like to do that and that's okay if its what they want to believe.

With that said, Snopes is not Canadian, nor are they independent and anyone can say they are or used to be republican, but the truth eventually comes out.

Snopes is run by Barbara and David Mikkelson, a California couple. They belong to some Folklore Society and they base what they post on nothing. They are not investigators or researchers, or lawyers. "It's just a mom and pop operation that began as a hobby. That would be like having someone who plays dungeons and dragons start a fly-by business and gives their political opinions based on nothing and everyone believes what they say because it goes in their favor.

Again, not cutting down Snopes as a source. A lot of people use them and that's okay. I just prefer more researching than they do (which looks to be none), just their opinion and what they are paid to write.

While, yes Barbara Mikkelson was born in Canada, she now lives in the United States. Which means American laws and politicians affect her life. Everyone in the United States has some favoritism towards one group or the other, and when you are funded by Soros and leftists, just where exactly do you think her loyalty lies...with the leftists of course. She does have political opinions as does her liberal husband David. They live in Ca and it has been found out that Snopes is a propaganda tool and Soros and the leftists fund it. To think they are independent is a bit naive.

In my research I found this:

Snopes.com is claiming to have the bottom line facts to certain questions or issue when in fact they have been proven wrong. On top of that, there were criticisms the Mikkelsons were not really investigating and getting to the true facts of various issues. In other words they are printing their opinions and also that of what Soros wants them to post.

So if you like Snopes, Kos, Factcheck, MSNBC or CNN, or on the other hand Fox, Newsmax and other conservative sites there is nothing wrong with that. I prefer sites that are unknown, written by people who have done research and try to uncover the truths. Their names may not be famous, but when you verify and cross reference and cross reference the cross references to me that is the only way I know how to trust what I find. Again, not questioning any sources here, just trying to state some of the facts that were left out.

I don't think the poster you replied to was "driving at" anything. She was just adding in that we all know who funds Snopes. Nothing wrong with that. It is her opinion and she did not criticize the source, just stated who they are paid by.

Who do you suppose you are kidding by repeating over and over that you're not questioning or criticizing sources while you repeatedly and continually question and criticize Snopes, referring to it as a leftist website funded by Soros? I'm sure you verified that on several conservative leaning websites so to you it seems true so you'll use it to criticize and question (which, of course, you claim on many occasions in your post that you're not actually doing). Honestly, though, if you can discredit a few sources here and there, it makes it easier to continue to ignore the facts on the sites and cling to the heaping pile of lies that you're being bombarded with from the far right conservative fear and smear sites. The people that bombard you with it know the lies, and they even pay a guy named Frank Luntz a very hefty sum to determine the manner and verbiage to use in order to serve up the red meat to the masses.

If you are a conservative, why wouldn't you want to discredit snopes.com or factcheck.org when those sites continue to print facts day after day that don't agree with your worldview loaded with conspiracy theories and outright lies?

I also found over 20+ websites that debunked the lies about Snopes. After being the go-to website for the truth since 1995, Snopes began to be criticized in 2008 when conservative websites began attacking Snopes and its founders because they were interfering with the conservative fear and smear campaign they were fabricating about Barack Obama.

I guess if Snopes was going to tell the world the truth that Obama is not a Muslim and expose the conservative lie campaign, then they had to discredit Snopes, a fairly simple concept.

Perhaps if you dare to read the research, you could actually learn that these lies about Snopes actually have been thoroughly debunked long, long ago.

You have no right to ask that. This is a board for political discussion. If we want to talk about what Michelle Obama eats for breakfast we can. Obama's ring he wears praising whatever god he wants to believe in is important to many of us. I have no opinion on his ring, except that it's a bit strange, but it's important to the OP and that is good enough for me and many others.

I think the disconnect here is someone attempting to actually answer a rhetorical question. Regardless of your beliefs, many others on this board DO NOT consider talking about the president's jewelry or about what the first lady eats for breakfast is actual political discussion. "I hear the first lady eats turkey sausage and the president wears a gold ring with markings" do not constitute actual political issues to a lot of people. So she posted the rhetorical question about importance that wasn't really asking anything and signed it "Silly Ness."

So to ask another rhetorical question: Why would anyone that wasn't the moderator think it was their place to tell another poster that they have no right to ask something on a political chat board?

Question... Does anyone have their rings practically permanently stuck on their finger? My wedding rings have made a dent in my finger (19 years!).
