Hannity states he will not cover CDC as he

Recording in link.  His guest implies there may be reason to distrust the government because man in Dallas died.  Nevermind that he didn't receive proper healthcare when he reported to the hospital, hydration, blood transfusion, and received drugs just too late.

Hannity is promoting fear-mongering and further destabilization and distrust of government. How much more destruction do the Conservatives think they can support and still have a nation to survive?  Do they really think they can keep destroying and that everyone would come running to them to save us?   They have got to stop and people have got to stop believing them.

You mean THAT quarantine? Seems to me the entire nation deemed the Dallas locals, with a couple of noteworthy exceptions like Judge Clay Jenkins and Mayor Mike Rawlins, to be the ones who were "not trustworthy." Thank goodness they finally got transferred to a healthier environment, as ANYONE trapped in an ebola incubating death trap would expect and that so far, they remain asymptomatic.

I've not checked out the stupid station these past few days. Judging from lynch mob mentality we've seen posted on MTStars since Mr. Duncan died, Fox must really be in overdrive with the various frenzies they're trying to whip up in their audience. I hear that, despite their best efforts, only the same old tired 30% fringe survey respondents, predisposed to chaos and panic, are worried about ebola and the other 66% aren't. Are people just jealous that they aren't black and/or poor enough to warrant JJ and/or AS to represent them? Why does it bother people that they would do this? Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have made it their life's work to try to represent the minority poor in cases where they think they may be under-represented or misrepresented.

There may be a case of medical negligence in the handling of this case. There are decisions that need to be made regarding the funeral and handling of this situation and this family needs someone to speak for them. I am glad that there is someone willing to do it.

If the malcontents had their way, the family, whom they feel are undeserving of comfort in their time of sorrow and loss, should be shunned by their neighbors, their church, their local, state and federal representatives, the CDC and all other sources of compassion and strength they may choose to lean on. You are right on about the life works of JJ, AS and all activists who fight discrimination based on race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and physical disability. The US still has a long way to go in addressing inequalities in hiring practices, pay issues, law enforcement practices, police brutality, due process, incarceration rates, sentencing, voting rights, representation, poverty and standards of living, access to education and even medical care. We need people like JJ and AS every bit as much in 2014 as we did 50-60 years ago.

as to why they sought consolation from two renown American pastors. I also think the family does and should take comfort from the added bonus of Rev. Jackson's and Rev Jackson's activism should the they decide to further question the care their deceased member received. They aren't the only ones left to wonder if Mr. Duncan would have had a better outcome had he simply been admitted, tested and diagnosed on initial presentation versus three days later, meaning he would have had the benefit of 72 hours more of supportive therapy, could have received brincidofovir sooner and may have received a blood transfusion from Dr. Brantly which he agreed to do after the hospital approached him about it. The family has every right to ask those questions as well.

The only positive outcome Mr. Duncan's death can provide us now is the lessons we should learn from the course of his treatment--all of them--what went right, what went wrong, and what should be done differently in the future. That will not be the case in the absence of close scrutiny. JJ and AS have contributions to make in this effort, whether you approve or not. This is a major disease epidemic we are talking about here with global implications, not some stupid political football the right is trying to toss around looking to score points and mobilize their perpetually angry party base.

Why don't JJ and AS show up when blacks kill blacks every night in Chicago - because that isn't news - if they are asked by the family to come, it is because the family wants the attention that they bring from the news media, but how do you think the families in Chicago feel? Do you think if they would call JJ and AS to Chicago because a black shot a black? No - that doesn't promote their cause of racism.....
Jesse Jackson has been involved in issue - of Chicago crime

He hasn't been quiet about Chicago violence. It is just so widespread that you don't hear of him associating with one particular case. Also, as to racism, black on black crime and violence, gang related and standby innocents is not crime by racism, other than the socioeconomic of racism causing the crime, but Jesse Jackson showing up at the crime scene or immediately thereafter is not going to address that.

Jesse Jackson has done things most don't - even remember
[ In Reply To ..]
Civil rights leader and two-time Democratic presidential candidate Jesse Jackson (1941–) became one of the most influential African-Americans of the late 20th century. He rose to prominence working within Martin Luther King Jr.’s Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) and was at the Memphis hotel with King when he was assassinated. Through PUSH, the organization he founded in 1971, Jackson pressed for broader employment opportunities for African-Americans. During the 1980s and 1990s he negotiated the release of dozens of international hostages and prisoners. In his 1984 and 1988 presidential campaigns, Jackson won 16 state contests and millions of votes, making him the first viable African-American candidate for president.

He has been present in politics in a way that no other black man had and he helped with the furtherance of MLKs work.

I'm glad he can still offer his time to people that need representation.
Not a particular fan of Sharpton, but he has - a valuable history also
[ In Reply To ..]
Sharpton attended public schools in Queens and Brooklyn. In the late 1960s, he became active in the civil rights movement, joining the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. The SCLC had a program called Operation Breadbasket, which sought to encourage diversity in the workplace by applying social and economic pressure on businesses. In 1969, Sharpton, then a high school student, became the youth director for the program. He participated in protests against the A&P supermarket chain in the early 1970s. In 1972, Sharpton graduated from Samuel J. Tilden High School. He spent two years at Brooklyn College as a contemporary politics major before dropping out. During this time, Sharpton remained politically active and eventually establish his own organization, the National Youth Movement.

During the 1980s, Sharpton got involved in many high-profile cases in the New York City area that affected the African American community and led several protests against what he believed were injustices and incidents of racial discrimination. He helped keep media scrutiny on the racially based murder of a black teenager named Michael Griffith in 1986.
Controversy

The following year, Sharpton became embroiled in the Tawana Brawley case—a case that would haunt him for years. Brawley, an African American teenager, claimed that she was raped by a group of white men—some of whom were allegedly police officers. The case was later dismissed by a grand jury, which reportedly concluded that the teenager had made up the story. But this came after months of media frenzy around the case, largely encouraged by Sharpton. He was even sued by the district attorney working the case for making slanderous remarks. Sharpton was found guilty and fined for his comments.

His reputation damaged, Sharpton faced more charges in 1990. He was tried and acquitted of stealing from the NYM. No matter what problems he encountered, he remained dedicated to his activism, arranging protests and giving press conferences. During one such protest in Brooklyn's Bensonhurst neighborhood in 1991, a man stabbed Sharpton in the chest. Rushed to the hospital, he had surgery to repair the damage and made a full recovery.

In April 2014, the Smoking Gun web site reported that Sharpton had been a paid FBI informant during the 1980s and had been a key player in taking down the Genovese crime family. In defending his work law enforcement, he said, “Rats are usually people that were with other rats. I was not and am not a rat, because I wasn’t with the rats. I’m a cat. I chased rats.”

Running for Public Office

Sharpton tried again to win public office in the 1990s. He had made one unsuccessful run for for the New York State Assembly in 1978. But this time, Sharpton had his sights on the national political arena, trying for a seat in the U.S. Senate in 1992 and in 1994. He also ran for mayor of New York in 1997. In 2004, Sharpton attracted national attention by throwing his hat into the ring to become the Democratic Party's presidential candidate. He, however, failed to garner enough support to become a contender for the nomination.
Activism Amid Criticism

To this day, Sharpton remains a political and social activist, with many supporters and critics. He is known for his deft handling of the media, leading some to call him the master of the sound bite. Others are concerned that his flare for the dramatic overshadows the causes he represents or he uses the causes he champions to further his own agenda. Sharpton seems to be pay no heed to his critics and continues to throw his talents behind important causes, cases, and events in the African American community, including rebuilding of New Orleans after the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

In June 2009, the Reverend Al Sharpton led a memorial for Michael Jackson at Harlem's Apollo Theater. A lifelong friend of the Jackson family, Sharpton said Michael Jackson was a "trailblazer" and a "historic figure" who loved the Apollo Theater.

More recently, Sharpton became involved in the Trayvon Martin case. He held rallies in Florida to fight for justice in the Trayvon Martin case. Martin, an unarmed African-American teen, was shot to death in Sanford, Florida, by George Zimmerman, a member of a neighborhood watch group, in February 2012. Zimmerman has claimed self-defense, but others feel that Martin was a victim of racial profiling. Initially the local police did not file any charges against Zimmerman.

Some have worried that Sharpton's presence in Florida would turn already tense race relations into riots. But Sharpton has called for a peaceful approach to resolving this case. "We are not in the business of revenge. We are in the business of justice," he told the press.

A well-known public figure, Sharpton continues to share his views and to tackle today's issues through his television and radio programs. He has been the host of PoliticsNation since 2011. He also has his own syndicated radio show.

It seems he has done some good...and I'm not sure the bad has been as bad as many of our elected politicians serving today. The part of him that leaves a bad taste in my mouth would probably be described as his eccentricity, but I try to overlook that in people.
