GOP nominee John Koster explains "the rape thing" (AGAIN)

Posted: Oct 31, 2012

that incest is "so rare" (as in hardly worth a mention):

"But the rape thing, you know, I know a woman who was raped and kept the child, gave it up for adoption and doesn't regret it.  In fact, she's a big pro-life proponent. On the rape thing, it's like, how does putting more violence onto a woman's body and taking the life of an innocent child that's the consequence of this crime, how does that make it better? You know what I mean?" the clueless one ponders.

Exactly!! - How does killing the baby

make the first crime any better?

If you have to ask, no amount of explaining - will ever be enough.

That's your opinion. Pro-Choice folks are not trying to tell you what you can/should and can't/shouldn't do with your body or your beliefs. Candidates like Akin, Mourdock and Koster demonstrate all too clearly how oblivious they and their supporters are when it comes to processing the horror of rape and incest, AND how they will never be satisfied until they have imposed their will on all the rest of us, not to mention their willingness to invoke GIANT government as a means to their end.

FYI, abortion is legal. Getting one is not a crime.

Misunderstood poster, I think. - lmn

She referred to the "first crime," i.e., the rape. She did not say abortion is illegal and getting one is a crime.
If so, why was that implicit phrase necessary? - I don't think so.

Where there's an expressed first, there's usually a second right behind.
Maybe the "second right behind" - km

is an innocent life snuffed out. Maybe not a legal crime, but a moral one at least.
Raise your hands if you want government's role to include - legislating morality.

Just thinking about that slippery slope makes me want to hurl.
It already does. Abortion is legal. Gay marriage is legal. - wannie

I realize for some those are not moral issues. For me, they are. JMO.
Wannie, laws don't say something is MORAL. They say - it's LEGAL. People decide on their own
[ In Reply To ..]
about the morality of their own and others' behaviors. These laws are meant to keep it that way--we are all free to decide on the morality but we can't call the police to come punish the guys who've moved in down the block for us because we disapprove.

Personal freedom. Application of the principle of right to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." Our Founding Fathers undoubtedly were acquainted with gays in Revolutionary American and were fully aware of them when they spoke of "all men."

"The rape thing?" - grits

Oh, my giddy aunt. These people can't even learn from their own mistakes.

And no, I don't know what he means. He's not making any sense.

US Soldiers Disciplined For Stopping Rape Of ChildrenSep 21, 2015
My father, who saw some pretty terrible sights during World War 2, used to frequently tell me that bad things happen in war, but I don’t think he ever ran into anything like this. A story breaking over the weekend reveals that our “Afghan allies” have been engaged in a sick practice referred to as “boy play” in the common parlance. This essentially translates into abducting, imprisoning and raping young boys, keeping them as sex slaves. As if that wasn’t shocking enough, it’s appar ...
