The courts have ruled that insurance policies are not commerce, they are contracts. And the Constitution does not give the federal government the power to regulate that.

I'm to the point where I just wish they would repeal it.

thread? That the responses are all about blaming the other side and TV shows? Why is it okay for republicans now to hide behind closed doors to make a health care bill that will affect the whole country, but it was a horrible thing when they did it with Obamacare? Why is it that we state an opinion about Colbert and the others on TV, but no opinion about what the republican senate is doing? You realize that they are only doing this behind closed doors because of the backlash from their constituents when the House let the public know what was in their horrific bill? You do realize that Ryan and McConnell were screaming bloody murder when the Obamacare thing happened? Now they think it's okay because the other side did it? Wrong is wrong, no matter what side does it and using that as the reason you do something is childish! Don't the republicans on this board have an opinion about that?

I am a conservative and agree with you 100%. I would like to make note that I described myself as conservative, however. I am not a Republican or Democrat. I basically think they are all the same scoundrels, maybe a few exceptions on both sides of the aisle but I honestly can't think of who that might be. Anyway, very good point, well said.

by people not caring that this is all going on behind closed doors since many on here cannot stand Obamacare. you would think they would want to be more vigilant so that any new health care bill would be open to all of us in order to make sure the most people are happy with it! I was a republican for 40 years, but not now - Independent for me since ALL of the ones running our country are less than desirable in my opinion!

But the point of the post I answered was that the finger pointing and blame game is childish, to which I agree, two wrongs don't make a right. Don't think that because I consider myself conservative that I will just go along with whatever they do and think it is okay. I want to see actions out of Congress, both houses and both sides, that prove they are thoughtful, can behavior properly, and care about what their actions do to the people who elected them and what their actions say about their own character. As the poster I replied to said, wrong is wrong.
