Fox News satellite blacks out Democrat's comments on healthcare

Coincidence?

A moment of mild amusement ensued Saturday after a Fox News Channel satellite literally erased comments from a Democratic congressman.

The network, which is frequently lampooned by liberal organizations such as Media Matters for an alleged conservative bias, suffered a conveniently timed setback that eliminated the final words of a Democratic lawmaker talking up his party's healthcare reform.

Arizona Republican congressman Trent Franks, arguing for the conservative side, tells Fox's host that the Democrats' plan to reform healthcare will replace "free enterprise" with a "socialist system."

The Senate Democrats' plan, in fact, does no such thing -- Democrats bailed on more liberal versions of the bill after pressure from moderate Democratic senators.

No surprise there... Faux news - Lolly

They are continually proving to be tabloid commentators. At least O'Reilly points it out that they are not journalists. The problem is a lot of people think it's "the news."

That's what you call "Fair and UNbalanced" LOL - emanon

[ In Reply To ..]
"Fox News" -- and that's what you call an oxyMORON!!

In comparing the networks, Fox IS much more balanced - than most, but you would not know.nm

Shep Smith's show is on FOX right now... and duh.. - he is a liberal. nm

I make myself watch on a regular basis, mornings and evenings. And after I pick myself off the floor from laughing, I turn to a real news station . . .
Well, I don't believe you -not for a second. - You NEVER watch Fox.nm

Wow! Have you taken your meds today? - emanon

I could care less whether you "believe" me or not. I absolutely do watch ir regularly to remind myself that this is what is wrong with this country, because birds of a feather and all. One wing-nut begets another wing-nut, etc., and it is very obvious from your unhinged response what category you fall in. Those loonies are laughing all the way to their fat bank acccounts by duping gullibles like you.
LOL ! The "gullibles" are people like you who think - Govt knows best for us.nm

I missed it today because I started work earlier than normal. Usually I flip back and forth between him and Chris Matthews (from loony to common sense). I guess you missed my earlier comment on his ranting from his show yesterday and what a crybaby he was because he didn't like what people were saying about him . . . boo hoo

You know, that he was voted "Fear Mongorer of the Year."

one I can stomach. Most are VERY slanted liberal, so why try to constantly make fun of Fox just because they are not, huh? You people are ridiculous.
You are clearly not really an independent if you think - Colleen
[ In Reply To ..]
Faux is not obscenely slanted to the right. I don't believe you. But, it does not matter. You have the right to fill your head with whatever garbage you want. Keep watching them. Good luck with that.
We all know you fill your OWN head with garbage - from the left. That is clear.nm

Fox is not even the news and I don't think it should be allowed to call itself the news. It fools a lot of the old people and well, the fools. Why are the right wingers so hateful? I think it's because Fox and Hannity and Beck get them worked up.
You want to talk "hateful" dont just blame the right. - Look at the one asking if

someone took their "meds" today. Most of the left get nasty when you disagree with them, in public or anonymously. As far as news, Fox may lean right, but they are much more balanced than ANY of the many left-leaning networks. If you cant see that, well, you are apparently on the left, so nevermind.
And I'm sure you get all your "news" from PMSNBC and Olbermann.... - AzRain

who have a fraction of the viewers that Fox News has. Yet WE'RE the idiots? You guys are hysterical!
And also CNN, C-Span, USA today, Washington - Colleen
[ In Reply To ..]
Post, Miami Herald, Raw Story~among others. The only so-called "news station" that turns my stomach is Fox, and yet I do turn it on at times for as long as I can stand it. Fox is so obscenely, obviously, excruciatingly right wing it is completely crazy to me that they, or anyone else can keep a straight face and call them "fair and balanced." Unbalanced is more like it. But you are within your rights to watch whatever you want, I personally don't care. It would be nice if Mr/Miss Independent would change the channel every so often and consider what else is out there.
Truly, this is not worth arguing. Fox is fake. If you like it - Lolly
[ In Reply To ..]
That's your problem. I will not argue this point.
Good, because you lost the argument. Fox does - have conservative commentators, but
[ In Reply To ..]
Also has just plain news programs. Shep Smith has one of them a 3pm and he is a liberal... big time. So, please, go ahead and watch CNN=Clinton News Network or MSNBC=worst network ever, and I will stick to Fox. Thank you.
But you agree, Hannity and O'Reilly are not NEWS PROGRAMS!!! HAHAHA SO I WIN - Lolly
[ In Reply To ..]
That's great and that was my point.
Thanks, Lolly. You are right, though. These are people - Colleen
[ In Reply To ..]
who come out in full frontal attack mode to tell us how wrong we are and how WE always attack THEM and how WE get up in arms when they don't agree with us and still somehow manage to not see the irony, or hypocrisy, depending on your viewpoint. I don't bother getting angry anymore. I just laugh at them. It is okay though. We know what is really true.

I thought that was Rush's name. Or maybe (sm) - Nikki

block by the program itself? Then, when it happened on NBC this morning, they were blocking/erasing some comment?

A couple months ago, scientists were saying there would be some interruptions in programs due to sunspots being on the increase between 2010 and 2012. I'll see if I can find something on it and post it.

In the '70s, the same thing happened, but it didn't affect TV programming because it was analog then. It did affect all over the air radio waves for CBs etc. One time, our CBs were out for 2 days due to the sun spots. Ya couldn't even get a report where the police were hiding on the highway. LOL

So, don't be so quick to judge everything as if it's a conspiracy.

Found an article on it. - Backwards Typist

(Where did time go? Thought it was a couple months ago, but it was 2006!)

a'March 10, 2006: It's official: Solar minimum has arrived. Sunspots have all but vanished. Solar flares are nonexistent. The sun is utterly quiet.

Like the quiet before a storm.

This week researchers announced that a storm is coming--the most intense solar maximum in fifty years. The prediction comes from a team led by Mausumi Dikpati of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). "The next sunspot cycle will be 30% to 50% stronger than the previous one," she says. If correct, the years ahead could produce a burst of solar activity second only to the historic Solar Max of 1958."

You can find the whole article here:

Healthcare's Bipartisan Problem. Almost Half Of Healthcare SpendingJan 13, 2017
healthiest half of the population consumes only 3% of health care costs. The only alternative would appear to be taxpayer subsidies. It is next to impossible, politically, to take away freebees once in place. Income redistribution continues to increase. The 2010 health law, also known as Obamacare, forced insurers to sell coverage to anyone, at the same price, regardless of their risk of incurring big claims. That provision was popular. Not so were rules requiring nearly everyone to have ins ...

I had Obamacare and even with the subsidy still could not afford it and was paying for nothing essentially because there was no way I would ever meet the deductible.   To be forced to have to have something is not the answer and as awful as some think that the repeal and replace of Obamacare is, we have to do something and we have to start somewhere.  Obamacare was meant to fail and did noone any favors and, by the way, we were LIED to.  We have to have choices and competitio ...

Why We're Still Waiting On The Yelpification Of Healthcare.Oct 21, 2012
"While power has indeed shifted into the hands of the consumer when it comes to buying a car or choosing a restaurant, this revolution -- what Rothschild terms "Yelpification" -- hasn't, well, revolutionized health care. Writing in the New York Times, Ron Lieber attributed the lack of authoritative doctor reviews to patients' unwillingness to do the actual reviewing. The problem, he said, is one of basic supply and demand: "Many people want this information, and more consume ...
