Fault him for what? Nothing happened. - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
There were no missile strikes, we didn't go rogue on the UN, Syria is negotiating with the world about chemical weapons. I really don't see how fault is necessary toward anyone, except Assad for starting this mess in the first place.

There's nothing "weak and indecisive" - about

[ In Reply To ..]
standing on principles adopted by 189 out of 194 nations and ratified by the US Congress when Assad openly and defiantly violated the chemical weapons ban....when no other country could find the backbone to do it. The president stuck to his guns DESPITE all this petty carping and Monday-morning quarterbacking to his own political peril, now being manifested in this backlash of sanctimonious posturing.

President Obama said he would end the war in Iraq and he did. He said he would draw down troops in Afghanistan and that is on schedule. He said the US would not stop until it got Bin Laden, who now sleeps with the fishes at the bottom of the Arabian Sea. He declared Bashar Al-Assad would be held to account for gassing his own people and that is progressing as promised. Had he not done what he did, NOTHING would have changed for Assad and his victims would still be terrorized, watching and waiting for the next gas attack.

Right! He is seen as a strong and honorable leader - by other world leaders, a

reputation he's worked very carefully to establish after the scary neocon superpower out of control reputation the previous administration earned us.

Hopeless incompetent -- when I searched for this, I only came up articles regarding Britain (from 2007).

Panetta Said He Didn't Have Advance Notice Of The Attack. Huh?Nov 13, 2012
No advance notice? What the heck? Do jihadists now have to let our State Department know ahead of time that they’re going to attack us? How much time does he want-24, 48 hours or more than that? Dumb statements coming from the SOS, President, Biden, Rice, and now Panetta. President Speaking Now On SyriaAug 30, 2013
The unclassified report shows the chemical weapons were used by Assad. He has not made a final decision. He is not  considering any open-ended or military action that involves boots-on-the-ground but will be a limited, narrow act that would help make sure that Syria and others around the world know that using chemical weapons are not acceptable. (Note that this article, like all the others, does not explain what happened to change our very deliberative White House's announcement of a strike to an announcement of intention to seek Congressional approval. Something that, whatever else, made them decide to set the  strike date back.) Up to Speed: Five Things ...
