Nothing was said about giving anybody a pass. The post addresses just one in an endless parade of vacuous GOP smear tactics and hypocrisy. However there is a difference between established facts from 15 years ago and a news story still wet behind the ears. I prefer to reserve judgment until more is known.

Before jumping to any further conclusions about what posters may or may not believe, here's another possibility worth considering. Faulty intelligence happens under the best and worst leadership regardless of the administration's political affiliations. The results are often calamitous. The US was caught with its pants down in the days leading up to the Pearl Harbor attacks, Bay of Pigs, Yom Kipper War, Iranian Revolution, Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan, collapse of the Soviet Union, India's nuclear testing, and yes, the 9/11 attacks. In no instance listed here, including the WMDs case, does the blame for these failures fall on the shoulders of one single person.

Some of this information about ISIS was known to the president and his cabinet around the first of the year. What intelligence failure is he alluding to? Or is this just another way for him to deflect the blame on to somebody else? I wish he would tell the truth for once. I also wish he wasn't so darn stubborn.

issues when they know nothing and aren't supposed to know anything. The President is only addressing this to amuse the American people and press. In this case, you are right, he lies, because he isn't supposed to tell you, me or anyone else in the public the full story. Do people really think it is so simple as to go on TV and advertise what the U.S. policy should be and then go execute it. Back to the water cooler!
