It's worse when another American wants to kill you. (sm) - Nikki

[ In Reply To ..]

I expect that kind of behavior from the Taliban and al Qaeda, but I had hoped to expect better from Americans.

If there's another 9/11, we'll have to look for homegrown terrorists, as well as al Qaeda terrorists.  It only takes ONE idiot with a gun to start a riot of other idiots killing Americans.

Don't know how anyone on or off this board could defend that.

I fear for Christians in this country...sm - louise

[ In Reply To ..]
These crazy groups/cults who call themselves "Christians" are putting true Christians at risk. With all the crazy people in this country who have something against Christianity (or any form of religion)in the first place, these people put Christians at risk for even greater prejudice and harm. You can't categorize all "Christians" as the one and the same. There are so many people quick to judge us all based on the actions of a few who like to call themselves "Christians." The word Christian means Christ-like. Christ wouldn't be doing these things. Don't judge us all based on what people prefer to call themselves. Christ-like actions describe a Christian. Those of you who are ready to persecute all who claim to be Christian are just as bad as the "militia." But the Bible says Christians (true Christians) will be persecuted. It is to be expected and maybe this is how it starts. Time to pray for strength.

Hopefully a lot of people think like I do ~ sm - Anoni~

Although I don't practice any religion, I'm more Wiccan than anything, finding my strength in the beauty of the earth, etc.

However, I don't have a thing against Christians, only those who do evil things in the name of Christ ~ Allah, or whatever god they profess the voices in their heads to be talking with.

They are just crazies, dangerous crazies. Sadly, these people have existed since the beginning of time and use their so-called "religion" as an excuse to cause death, destruction, and paranoia amongst the ranks.

Hang in there!

Totally agree. Like Nikki said above, all it takes - is one nut to start off

a war. There are good people of all relgions and bad in all relgions. I would hate to see the "good" Christian, or for that matter, the "good" Muslims targeted.

Just for the record, I personally have spoken out here on several occasions saying that there is a distinct difference between the "good" Christians (or any other religion for that matter) and the "bad" ones. People who are able to live and practice their faith, do good for others, show concern, love and acceptance of their fellow man no matter what, and don't try to shove it down others throats-Great Christians! The ones that do try to shove it down others throats or use it to justify acts of violence, racism or predjudice-bad news and this is a bad thing for those who are truly good examples of the faithful. Sounds like you are one of the good ones, and rest assured, there are many of us here who are VERY aware of the difference and do not lump all Christians in the same bucket. Thanks for your post.
I think religion should be personal, and quiet. Its always - a red flag when someone is running around - sm

wearing their "faith" on their sleeve, or tattooed all over their forehead, or the name of whatever god they worship injected into every sentence. Whether they're Taliban riding around in trucks carrying Ouzis, anti-abortionists in front of a family-planning clinic, or sickos protesting the funeral of a gay soldier, they're all the same: Terrorists hiding behind "religion". And in this country, many of them hide behind "religious freedom". And that's the sick thing ~ because their ulterior motive is to TAKE AWAY religious freedom, and make all about ONE religion or belief ~~ THEIRS.
Can I have an Amen to that! - ASmom

we are to share our faith and spread the message. What others choose to do with that message is of their own choosing. I don't believe in harassment of anyone but the Lord expects us to share the message of His love.
I very respectfully disagree. - ASmom

If I am inclined to worship or feel the need to comune with God, I can take myself to church on my own. Some of us just do not want to hear it. We have already made up are minds and do not well-intending people to try to change it, IMHO. It is great that you have your religion and it works for you. You live it and that is great. However, please do not share with me. Thank you, but no, thank you.
That of course is your choice - louise
[ In Reply To ..]
but we are still required by God to spread His Word even if we are rebuked. You have made the choice to not hear but you are not all and there are those who don't know of God's love for them and do want to know. It is these people we strive to reach. Keeping it quiet and personal is not an option for those of us who feel the need to share.
Also remember - though

God does set limitations on this in Matthew. You share the Good News to a point. Read Matthew 7:6.

Oh. I guess I took her post to mean not to *preach* to her, not having to - do with your outward appearance.
[ In Reply To ..]
Having ash on your forehead isn't exactly sharing. At least that's my take on it, but who knows? I say to each his own, just don't push it on others.
That is precisely what I meant. Don't know - what that had to do with
[ In Reply To ..]
outward appearance. I just meant you have the right to worship however or whoever you want to, and I have the equal right not to be a part of it or have it pushed or "shared" with me. Like she said "to each his own, just don't push it on others." If I change my mind, I know where my local churches are. Good luck to all of us no matter whether we choose to worship or not.
Where did she say THAT? (sm) - Nikki
[ In Reply To ..]

She clearly said she doesn't want it pushed on HER by others.  How is wearing ashes on your head "pushing" anything on anybody? It's obvious she was referring to others who invade her space and target her PERSONALLY to prosthelytize or convert her to change what's in her heart to what they demand be in her heart.

Applying "ashes" to this kind of assault is just plain silly and in no way relevant to what she wrote.

Thanks Nikki, you are correct, as usual. She - can keep her ashes to
[ In Reply To ..]
herself as well. She can go for as many ashes as she wants, if that is her choice.

That was almost-not quite-a Glenn Beck kind of leap in logic, unless I misunderstood. Just this ash thing kind of came from out of nowwhere, IMHO, and I am not sure what the connection is.

What a travesty of justice! To lose a child, especially one who was killed in the line of duty, and then to have these creeps stalk the funeral and interrupt it with hateful speech and THEN to have to pay for the attorneys who represented these creeps -- what is happening to our country?  This is just plain WRONG.  I feel sorry for the family of this fallen soldier.

And don't say it's Obama's fault.
