“The middle class was buried by the policies that Romney and Ryan have
supported,” Vice President Joe Biden told a crowd in Asheville, N.C.

At a previous North Carolina event, Biden said that Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan would raise taxes on a middle class that has already been “buried” for the past four years — not exactly a positive assessment of the economy under President Obama. Romney’s campaign pounced on the remark, highlighting it in twitter, on the trail and in a conference call.

In a statement, Obama spokeswoman Lis Smith also clarified Biden’s earlier comment. “As the Vice President has been saying all year and again in his remarks today, the middle class was punished by the failed Bush policies that crashed our economy — and a vote for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan is a return to those failed policies,” she said,

EVERYONE understands the devastation on our economy Ws tax policies have produced, who tried to expire them and who has been using them as a poison pill ever since to obstruct progress in Congress. We also all know what all the secret policies and math R&R don't have time to explain really mean.
