Amazing how certain partisans avoid good news posts such as this one like the plague. Here's hoping we see more successful surgically precise strike missions and fewer multiple-front US empirical war campaigns reporting in the future.

"Bring him to justice." After thousands of the most physically fit, intelligent, motivated, and selfless men and women we have are dead and gone, a bizillion $$ spent, it took 26 men 11 minutes and 1 bullet to do the job. "Mission accomplished" my A$$!

Wrong intel. Wrong reason. Wrong country. Wrong leader. The war droned on for 8 years, 231 days after that declaration, during which time we had saw the insurgence of foreign Islamic terrorist operations where there had been none prior to the invasion and occupation, not to mention the deadly sectarian violence that continues to this day.

We left literally millions of military and civilian dead, wounded, maimed and orphaned in the aftermath, created a refugee crisis of epic proportions, spent trillions in direct and indirect costs that are ongoing (vets and debt) , spiralled down into a deep recession, then proceeded to black it out or distort it TO DEATH in our media.

Meanwhile, Navy Seals took out the REAL mastermind behind 9/11 in one mission authorized by our Commander-in-Chief on May 2, 2011...you remember, the one Bush said he was "truly not that concerned with catching" just SIX SHORT MONTHS after 3000+ Americans were murdered at the perp's behest.

Particularly shameful is the fact that as of January 21, 2008, there were more orphans being held in American prisons in Iraq (800) than were living in government orphanges (459). Refugee numbers are similar. There are more than 4.7 millon refugees, 2 million who fled Iraq and another 2.7 million who are internally displaced.

I'd suggest you take your own advice, but first start by reviewing the description in the OP: "....military and civilian dead, wounded, maimed and orphaned." I would add to those casualties the folks who were left with a life sentence of irreversible mental illness and/or suicidalality.

Next, get a map of the world and locate Afghanistan and Iraq, then try your best to distinguish between the two. Your link does not mention Iraq, which is the topic of this current conversation. Perhaps by posting numbers on Afghanistan, you are purposely overlooking all Iraq's collateral damage in a clever attempt to distract attention away from Ws handiwork and somehow assign blame elsewhere. Insert gentle reminder here: The Afghan War has been ongoing for 10 years, 111 days. It was waged by W and fought under his watch from October 7, 2001 until his last day in office. Renewed commitment was based in part on the fact that OBL (that guy W was not terribly concerned about) was still out there, his whereabouts unknown, of course, since W all about restoring "family honor" and completing the job his daddy started while in office, though I am quite certain Cheney had much larger imperial delusions of grandeur up his sleeve. Anyway, once that was taken care of (in fact, just about one month later), plans for staged troop withdrawal were announced, then implemented.

Moving right along, you next step would be to think outside the box, and seek sources that do not have a vested interest in understating the bloody barbarism and brutality that has been perpetrated in the name of allegedly bringing US democracy to IRAQ. You might consider sources other than US government records and the corporate media realm.

Once you have at least located the correct country and its corresponding data, get back with us.

I do not even have to be in support of Obama to know what a clown and embarrassment GWB was. Taking a swipe, hardly. His record speaks for itself, as well as just about every public appearance he ever made.

Now, to keep yourself from looking like a clown by talking about "such disrepect," you should go back to your googling, dictionaries, history books, etc. that you use to make yourself look intelligent and stop turning every conversation into R versus D, which is exactly the root of all problem solving, or lack thereof, in the country.

Plenty of people value the above opinions and guess what, each has common sense, and I do not see anything "self-righteous" about them. They are quite logical, and what makes you think they are DEMs/Libs? Because you do not agree with them?
