I Thought It Would Be China, (Romney's Olympics)Jul 16, 2012I just knew Romney had outsourced the 2002 Olympic uniforms, but I was surprised to learn it was to Burma/Mayanmar. Oh well, I was pretty close.

Mitt Romney was noticeably unwilling Friday to engage in a controversy around the manufacturing of U.S. Olympic uniforms in China, despite criticism from Republican and Democratic lawmakers alike.
Congress was up in arms Thursday over the discovery that the U.S. team's uniforms for the opening ceremony of this year's Olympics ...

Israeli Athletes At Rio Olympics Endure Hostility Aug 11, 2016The 2016 Olympic Games have been billed as an opportunity to put politics aside in the spirit of international camaraderie, but that’s not necessarily how it’s working out for Israeli athletes.
Animosity toward the 47-member delegation has triggered a reprimand from the International Olympic Committee and alarm from Jewish groups such as the Anti-Defamation League, which issued a statement this week decrying anti-Israel “hostility” in Rio de Janeiro.

SummerJun 09, 2010At this point hiring a babysitter is not even an option due to pay cuts. Kids have been out of school for 3 days, and they are already saying, "I'm bored." Hubby works 12-hour night shifts and has to get some sleep sometime.
This is gonna be FUN!

Summer Will Soon Be Here, Lunches? Apr 15, 2013Need some ideas about the kids for this summer. I work the 2nd shift so after breakfast need something that will be easy for me to "throw" together and not spend time on. These kids are young, 1 going into middle school, but they will eat most things, not picky. I would like to have something fixed before I start my midday work day. ...
Out Of School Ideas For Summer?May 22, 2013Hi all,
My son's last day of school is today. Looking for some fun, inexpensive ideas to keep him busy at home and for both of us when we can be on the go! I don't want video games and/or TV watching to be the main ingredient of his summer days. We don't have any kids in the area his age to play with, and he is the only one at home anymore so no siblings to play with. He is 10 and it is hard to keep him from getting bored and wanting to "veg" all day.
Any ideas appreciated ...

Kids Visiting In Summer, Still Having To WorkApr 12, 2013and I am one who works straight through without taking time out of the day. I know I can get Netflix for them, they have their Ipads, can get some crafty things to make and some games like puzzles and the lot. I know this sounds like a lot to me but I don’t want them bored to tears. We are planning trips while they are here but then the work days are still hanging around in between. Any other suggestions some of you mothers have for the time you have to be at the keyboard? ...

Still No Consensus On Border Plan As Congress Hurtles Toward Summer RecessJul 17, 2014I look forward to the Minuteman Project getting involved if something isn't done to seal our borders. The sad truth, however, is that that will also take many, many months to organize. We're screwed. ...
