Empty gesture - old and burned out

We did this once before. All it does is hurt the athletes who have trained for the last 4 years.

No gesture intended. I am worried about our athletes security. nm - OP

Putin said he knows how to deal with the terrorists. - missbarb

I don't know if that's true, but I think he means what he says. Plus the comment about the athletes preparing for the winter Olympics is a good one.
I trust Putin more than - Obama

sad to say. I don't believe Putin lies to his people.
Are you freaking serious? Putin doesn't lie to his people? - Hahaha ! ! nm

I have a bridge to sell you.
We all know who will get the blame if Americans die and - it won't be Putin. sm

What I am seeing on the news now is very scary. I remember the massacre of athletes at the Olympics in the 70s. It made Bengazi look like a tea party.

TO CLARIFY MY EARLIER POST - ABOUT TRUSTING PUTIN
[ In Reply To ..]
I'm sorry, but in light of all the scandals and lies of this current administration, I would be more inclined to believe Putin over Obama. I am not a communist and I don't believe Russia is as good an ally as in the past, but I don't trust our current president one bit.
Remember how Russia warned the US of the - Tsarnaev brothers...
[ In Reply To ..]
...on more than one occasion and that was yet another thing completely ignored by entities within this current administration? I think and I hope Russia has a good handle on this current situation.
How - NK
[ In Reply To ..]
does your not being a communist pertain to either Putin or Russia?
Just covering my bases in case anyone wanted to - call me a commie. (NM)

I need to say this - NK
[ In Reply To ..]
I have lived through the terms of many presidents, some of whom I did not vote for and with whose policies I did not agree. But I would never have praised the leader of another country at the detriment of my own country's leader.

BTW, Russia has not been under communist rule since 1991.
Thank you for your input. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I, too, have lived through many presidents and have not always voted for them, but I have always trusted them. That includes both Presidents Nixon and Clinton, both of whom lied to the American people.

And yes, I am aware of the breakup of the former USSR.
The only ones calling anyone a commie - enough of the pity party
[ In Reply To ..]
is the liberals crying about others calling them commies.
Right on - thanks for posting - you are not alone - nm

Then feel free to move to Russia.. OMG.. Pathetic
No thanks, I'll just wait till November 2016. - BTW, It's just an opinion.
[ In Reply To ..]
I'm entitled to my opinion. How can I have possibly faith in this president after what we have learned?

I suppose each athlete - old and burned out

Why would you say the US should pull out of Olympics in Russia? - missbarb

[ In Reply To ..]
What would make you even say that?

Terroristic threat - Google it

[ In Reply To ..]
not trying to be a wise***, just don't have time to go into it.

Then they shouldn't go anywhere - It's happening all over the world

[ In Reply To ..]
No place is safe anymore. Maybe they should just stay in their homes and not even go to the local gym. Something could happen after all.

I trust Putin that he is doing everything to keep this safe for everyone. We all can't be afraid to leave our homes now.

I worry about security too; however... - js

[ In Reply To ..]
...if we pull out of the Olympics in Sochi, aren't we caving in to terrorism?

Something I find chilling is - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
that the site of the Olympics, Sochi, is only about 300 miles west of Dagestan, where the Tsarnaevs lived. I don't want to read anything into anything, but it is a very anxiety-provoking situation. But let's be serious, does anyone think Russia will not do everything in their power to protect the athletes? Remember the Utah Olympics after 9/11? There were a lot of threats to the USA at that time. Romney knew it, so did the president. We didn't cave and we were fine.

I just knew Romney had outsourced the 2002 Olympic uniforms, but I was surprised to learn it was to Burma/Mayanmar. Oh well, I was pretty close. ***** Mitt Romney was noticeably unwilling Friday to engage in a controversy around the manufacturing of U.S. Olympic uniforms in China, despite criticism from Republican and Democratic lawmakers alike. Congress was up in arms Thursday over the discovery that the U.S. team's uniforms for the opening ceremony of this year's Olympics ...

Israeli Athletes At Rio Olympics Endure Hostility Aug 11, 2016
The 2016 Olympic Games have been billed as an opportunity to put politics aside in the spirit of international camaraderie, but that’s not necessarily how it’s working out for Israeli athletes. Animosity toward the 47-member delegation has triggered a reprimand from the International Olympic Committee and alarm from Jewish groups such as the Anti-Defamation League, which issued a statement this week decrying anti-Israel “hostility” in Rio de Janeiro. “Shocking but not surprisingl ...

Obama Trying To Provoke A War With Russia BeforeJan 19, 2017
When they thought Hillary Clinton would be the next president, it appeared that war with Russia would be imminent. Clinton boasted of her plans to close the airspace over Syria to Russian and Syrian forces, which many said was an act of war. Russia ended a decades-long nuclear disarmament deal. Then Trump was elected and Russian president Vladimir Putin made immediate overtures of peace (to the dismay of those who have been promoting war.) All this "Russians did it" is propaganda due to t ...

MOSCOW — There are scattered reports of unusual behavior from across Russia’s nine time zones. Inmates in a women’s prison near the Chinese border are said to have experienced a “collective mass psychosis” so intense that their wardens summoned a priest to calm them.
